seroquel

Avatar f tn is aware but percribes it for 3 x day because sometimes i would get panic attic in the day. But for a while i didnt take the xanax for about 2 years. I know its not withdrawal from the xanax because i already have stopped taking it before after taking it 3 xday for 2 years and never felt like this just alittle tried. and im taking the xanax now 1/2 in am, 1/2 in middle day and whole to sleep at night .25 mg.
Avatar f tn I have had panic attacks before prior to taking Seroquel, however never constantly, and never for no reason at all. I would have a panic attack after a traumatic event, or when I smoked pot as a teenager, but otherwise I never had them. When I began taking straight Seroquel (I don't recall what the initial dosage was exactly but it was around 500-600 mg daily I think), I used to have panic attacks within a half hour of taking it.
Avatar m tn If this is the case, then it is in my opinion not a bad choice, though some would argue there are better(safer) options due to the risk factors involved with the class of drugs to which Seroquel belongs. There are a number of other(*safer*) drugs that are being prescribed for sleeping issues which includes antihistamines such as Atarax/ Hydroxyzine or Phenergan/Promethazine or small doses of tricyclic drugs like Doxepin/Sinequan, Mianserin/Tolvon and many more.
Avatar m tn i have recently got off seroquel for anxiety and i have been off of it for 4 days now and i am itchy, i am having depressed phases, i am very nauseous when does this go away before the 50mgxr i was on 100mg that was 2 weeks ago should i take another pill or just stop like i have been doing?
Avatar f tn Hey I just found out that I am pregnant.and I have depression anxiety and panic attacks.atfer first child, .found out that I have depression and a hard time sleeping . So they put me on a medication they put me on Seroquel.I've been on Seroquel for 7 years . Since I found out I'm pregnant they don't want me taking seroquel for depression and anxiety and panic attacks and it help me sleep.
Avatar m tn I have bipolar/panic disorder and every time I took seroquel I had a massive panic attack, ate a lot, then slept for 12+ hours. The longest I have ever slept on seroquel is 72 hours straight... it will knock you out. It also makes you feel sluggish and lethargic throughout the day... not even my Dexedrine helped. I've tried ambien, trazodone, and risperdal for sleep but the best medicine I've found is klonopin.
Avatar f tn I started taking 50mg of Seroquel in December for sleep. Shortly after I began to feel as if I couldn't breathe. I went to the ER and they checked me out and told me it was anxiety. So I saw My nurse practitioner and she prescribed Vistaril 50 mg 3x a day. I room it for a week. Still had the same symptoms. I figured out It was The seroquel. I tried to call the nurse but they are never available so I did not do my homework on this med and quit it cold Turkey.
766412 tn?1234893283 When I was taking seroquel, (quetiapine), I found it to be a really stabilising drug, I didn't have any real extremes of mood, and weirdly, never cried. My only problems were that I got very tired at times, and often got cramps in my legs, but after awhile taking it those things became less harsh. Good luck with it.
574118 tn?1305135284 50mg is a good dose for me to have on hand for a panic attack but that is about all it is good for. At one time I was on 400 for my therapeutic dose and also had a prescription for 25 mg which I would take with me when I left the house in case a panic attack kicked in. 100mg does seem to be the magic number for some reason??? If I took the 25mg or 50mg before an attack actually hit, I would get pulled down. To me it seems like it is an intense depressant.
Avatar f tn I have been experiencing sort of a non-stop full blown panic attack for about 2 weeks. Dr. put me on Lamicatal and Seroquel. The Seroquel knocked me out the first night, but now I need lots more to fall asleep. For the life of me I cannot figure out what started this for me, I mean it is really bad.
1021784 tn?1306363011 Im scared and my insuramce company hasnt approved it yet. I hate seroquel, too much weight gain, and i can still panic. I take klonopin and lamictal. im not bipolar. i just have extreme anxiety, only about work really.
605458 tn?1539228808 I just started on Seroquel XR for Panic Disorder, what's the difference between XR and normal seroquel? I suppose it will help with my Borderline Personality Disorder/Chronic Depression aswell, considering it is prescribed mostly for Bipolar, and Bipolar and BPD run on par with each other. I have been on nearly every med known to man for panic disorder/depression/sleep since I was 12 and I'm only 18.
447130 tn?1225470866 s now the end of October. I no longer take Seroquel 75mg during the day, no anti-anxiety drug (no panic attacks for 3 months, and no zoloft. I'm actually going to start reduing my seroquel from 400mg to 300mg as I'm just so groggy in the mornings now. Better yet, I've already lost 35 of my 70 lbs. Exercise definitely helps - even if it's just a stroll with the dogs. Good luck to everyone!
Avatar f tn The Zoloft might be the wrong med for you. Augmentation means adding medications to other medications. but the proper way to do this is only if the first med is actually working and you just need it to work better. If the Zoloft didn't work very well augmenting it isn't going to do the trick, you need to try a different first med. As for seroquel, I also advise people to check out this med for themselves.
4762310 tn?1362165935 Ok , because i was put on seroquel 50 mg and 10 citalopram and where on them for 6 weeks and they did nothing at all, so he upped the seroquel to 100mg and citalopram to 20mg and its been 2 weeks and still nothing , :S
420308 tn?1203041262 I went from 130 to 180 in 6 months and was having ongoing panic attacks. Day and night for an entire year. I'll tell you what made the panic attacks and depression go away. I quit antidepressants and sloooooly tapered off the seroquel. It was remarkable. The antidepressants were making me crazy. The awful anxiety slowly got better, although not all the way. I've always had it, I'll live with it. Unfortunately, I'm still 170 pounds.
Avatar f tn I've suffered with anxiety most of my life. I've taken numerous anti-depressants for the past 2 years which havent helped (i dont think im depressed). I'm on a 1 year leave from school so that i can get my anxiety under control because it was affecting my school work, i just couldnt do it anymore. The first issue im trying to get under control is my insomnia. When i try to sleep my mind is running so fast with thoughts, so its not that im not tired, i just cant calm my mind.
Avatar f tn Hello, I have suffered from gereralized anxiety and panic disorder for since I was 17 year old. When I was in my late teens, my triggers were large crowds, tight spaces, etc. Now that I'm in my early 30's, I still panic in large crowds and tight spaces, but now I've developed chronic panic attacks that happen around the time I am ready to fall asleep. I'm also someone who catastrophizes the littlest situation. I regularly see a psychiatrist & therapist who I love.
Avatar f tn I'm taking a LEXAPRO 30mg, KLONOPIN 5mg and SEROQUEL 25mg cocktail everyday for my Depression/Panic Disorder/Anxiety and I can barley stay awake. I feel like a zombie. True I don't want to kill Myself anymore. But I don't really feel alive anymore either.
Avatar n tn My doc wants me to try latuda for anxiety, she has seen great success. I take seroquel already for anxiety, and klonopin, and nortryptoline and lamictal. I am not bipolar. I only suffer from amxiety. I also would like k=to know if anyone else has to take so many drugs.
Avatar m tn It also may me very mean the next day. Be careful with that one. I take Zoloft with Buspirone for my bi polar and panic disorder and that works well.
Avatar f tn I currently take 400mg of Lamictal without any problems, but I also take remeron and valium. This combination seems to work for me and except for an occasional panic atttack(I'm diagnosed with that also) my anxiety level is pretty stable. As for Seroquel, I had the same problem with weight gain(40 lbs.) so told my doctor to take me of it and I've since lost the weight through diet and exercise. One outlet that I find very useful for anxiety is meditation, even for a few minutes a day.
1305767 tn?1361192676 Personally, I have not heard of it being used for that as there are much more effective medications out there for anxiety. Also Seroquel can actually cause anxiety and panic attacks! I hope that your doctor asked you many more questions to determine if you had bipolar disorder than just about racing thoughts. Bipolar disorder cannot and should not be diagnosed only on the basis of that.
459981 tn?1212193981 My initial diagnosis was major depresive disorder with co morbid panic disorder and i did great on an ssri medication for a little over a year before i became pregnant... that is were the hell began. I had to switch medications in my second trimester after being drug free for the first trimester and was put on zoloft.... not good for me.. so now i am trying to figure ou5t which ssri to use. i would like Few side effects naturally....Oh i am so confused. How could a doctor be SO WRONG?
Avatar m tn I can only give you my opinion. I think Seroquel is not the best med for you to be on. It is a very potent med. There are several SSRI's to choose from. I know you've been on one so far. I'm wondering why your Dr is'nt trying you on a different one? We're all so different and can do well on one a med while someone else does not. I took Paxil myself and did very well on it for several years.
Avatar m tn Did you say thinning hair ?? I 've been on Seroquel for years and I fell like my hair has thinned so much and never knew why! I do see an endocrinologist for hypothyroidism and everything/s fine with that...no problems but where did all my hair go? I couldn't figure this out. I see photo's of myself from years ago and it's like two different people. I had thick hair and lot's of it. Past few years all I have is a very thin ponytail and there's no volume to my hair.
