seroquel for nightmares

My Doctor just switch my medication from 150 mg of Effexor XR to 400 mg of Seroquel XR. I dropped my dosage of Effexor gradually but I still experienced terrible withdrawl. Now I am experiencing bad side effects, " I'm guessing ths", from the Seroquel. I have gained weight in my stomach area very rapidly, I have pain and stiffness in my legs, 24 hour dry mouth and sinuses and I feel like I could cry at the drop of a hat.

My doctor has recommended Seroquel for my insomnia. Since i am a parkinsons patient, I was wondering if this ,might make my parkinsons worse?

also possible weight gain with continued use... I am not a doctor, but ai have been on Seroquel on and off for about 5 yrs... I recently stopped taking it, because I had lap-band surgery and actually want to lose weight... almost impossible to lose weight wile taking Seroquel... how much are you on?

I did an internet search for information and found a website that sells this Medication and you don't need a prescription. Never heard the turm " dusting " I take 100mgs. of seroquel @ bedtime + 2 one mg. mealotion,mainly for sleep but truthfully the next day benifits from the seroquel was a surprise.Pleasant. There is a extended release form that may work better for you and you might not feel so sluggish the next day. I would talk it over with my pdoc. and see what else is out there,before you loose too much sleep.

I started taking seroquel about a month ago. At first it worked perfect, because I was suffering from nightmares and insomnia. But, the past few weeks I have been in such deep sleeps I am totally unresponsive to my alarm clock or my girlfriend. Even after I wake up it takes me several minutes to find out if I'm really awake or not. I seem to dream that I am awake and going about my day like normal, but then I actually wake up and I haven't moved from my bed.

ive had nightmares since december, the docs put me on seroquel in march for 3 weeks but i couldnt wake up in the mornings when i had to, while on that i didnt dream.

i have recently got off seroquel for anxiety and i have been off of it for 4 days now and i am itchy, i am having depressed phases, i am very nauseous when does this go away before the 50mgxr i was on 100mg that was 2 weeks ago should i take another pill or just stop like i have been doing?

I have been out of work for 2 months with bad anxiety, nightmares, dizziness. My physiologist prescribed zofoft 200mg. My question is about seroquel he has me taken 50mg at night. Is this drug safe and does it work for anyone . Just don't know about all the side effects. Please help if any information.

The sleep you get is not the only good thing about it. Unfortunately, as of yet, I have not found any medication that works as good for me as Seroquel. You may have to try a few different meds for your sleep and if you can get a prescription for around 25 mg of Seroquel you can take it throughout the day for anxiety and depression plus the cost will be less. Also 25 mg, in my experience, will not knock you out or make you a zombie.

t be sure, though at high dose you feel lethargic indeed. seroquel has been for me a God send preventing mixed states. It also makes you sleep well. But my dose is small 50mg maximum and most of the time 25mg. I can't dispense of it it's my main drug.

I spoke with my psychiatrist because I told him that the trazadone was giving me terrible nightmares and that was the big reasn for the change, but has anyone taken it and had strange reaction? Now, I'm talkng about sleep walking, real rash, weight gain, etc... anything that I need to know about before being filled? Thanks for reading this and please let me know about this medication.

I was prescribed Seroquel for insomia. It is one of the side effects of the drug. I didn't like the other side effect which is having an enormous appetite. I stopped using Seroquel and didn't have any fall out. I think I was on and off them for around 3 weeks. My dose never went above 200mg.

My psych doc put me on Trazadone for my nightmares. Without the Trazadone, I had the most horrible nightmares - and would wake up exhausted. No, you aren't cracking up. I'm bipolar and although my doctor has never said the nightmares are related to my disease, I'm convinced they are. Ask for something to knock you out at night. It might help. Good luck.

Well 1st off want to say I am very sorry for all your going thru. I have bipolar & am going thru depression now. I was on Zoloft & weaned off & begin Cymbalta during that time (I was on one of the lowest doses of Zoloft tho) I also am on lamictal 150mg, 5 mg of valium. But also 750 of Depakote ER, 100 Seroquel, 1200 Neurontin. So all my meds pretty much take care of the worst part of my bipolar symptoms.

I take meclizine for the nausea, valium for the brain shocks, and now Seroquel for insomnia. Valium I can quit cold turkey(long half-life). Its seroquel that has me concerned because it antagonizes many parts of the brain that Remeron does creating a sedative effect possibly making it addictive. Am I robbing Peter To pay Paul???? Has anyone had experiences with Remeron(mirtazapine) or Seroquel (quetiapine). Particularly withdrawal Experiences.

As far as the insomnia, I took Seroquel before bed because of how sedating it was for me. After 2.5 years, my body didn't know any other way to sleep. Someone on a blog wrote that Seroquel withdrawals were worse than heroin withdrawals... I have never done drugs like that so I wouldn't know, but that person apparently has.

Hi mamaruns are you by any chance on seroquel? i had nightmares on seroquel and if my husband so much as touch me during the night i would hit him or scratch him and yes i am bipolar.

seroquel is a great crisis drug for some people but it isn't a good way of life..took it for months and hated the clumsiness it gave me (athlete) how lazy it made me feel..the overly numb feeling..the blood pressure drops..tardive dyskenisia which i get with most of the drugs lesser with anxiety meds than anti psychotics..Some people just don't do well with these powerful drugs and there isn't a lot of sympathy from people who prescribe them..Omega 3 pharmaceutical grade..CBD oil..

When I was taking seroquel, (quetiapine), I found it to be a really stabilising drug, I didn't have any real extremes of mood, and weirdly, never cried. My only problems were that I got very tired at times, and often got cramps in my legs, but after awhile taking it those things became less harsh. Good luck with it.

I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and have been on Seroquel 200 mg for approx one year. Since being on the med I have experienced extreme forgetfulness. My short term memory is especially affected and it's getting progressively worse. I don't think forgetfulness is listed as a side effect of Seroquel. Afetr being on 100mg of Seroquel at night for about a month now, my sleep is back to normal and the seroquel is making me feel better, keeping depression at bay. I've been through a rough 2 weeks with some personal things and I came through like a champ. I don't need Restoril or Ambien anymore and I have adjusted to Seroquel so my doc wants me on it for a bit longer. He explained sleep is crucial to bipolar disorder and ordered my on the Seroquel until otherwise notified.

said replace the 3rd xanax with the seroquel 25mg before be d to seep how it works. OK i start taking Seroquel Fri night. Sat. i feel tired a little out of it and feel like I'm gonna have a panic attack. I say OK it probably just the meds getting into me. sun feel the same way. If this is the case, then it is in my opinion not a bad choice, though some would argue there are better(safer) options due to the risk factors involved with the class of drugs to which Seroquel belongs. There are a number of other(*safer*) drugs that are being prescribed for sleeping issues which includes antihistamines such as Atarax/ Hydroxyzine or Phenergan/Promethazine or small doses of tricyclic drugs like Doxepin/Sinequan, Mianserin/Tolvon and many more.

Seroquel has now worked for 3 nights of sleep. I take clonazapam and lamtrogine. What could I add as decrease 1 of these? Is tegretol a good choice? Long ago I took lithium, but ballooned up in weight. Suggestions to discuss w/my doctor?
