seroquel

1255936 tn?1296623461 I took 25 mg of Seroquel for GAD and it did wonders! I took it for a year and recently got off because my stresses are gone.
Avatar m tn It is also prescribed for other things such as schizophrenia, schizoaffective, GAD or severe insomnia (because of the sedation, and in smaller doses). It can be sedating at first, but usually this lessens as you get use to it. I have taken seroquel for about a year and am now on 500mg a day. Have you been prescribed it?
Avatar n tn But this is just one more bit of evidence that we need to look for safe, natural alternative treatments before writing prescriptions for problems like nausea and vomiting.
Avatar m tn one time I thought I was having freaking heart attack and I felt like bugs were crwaling in my skin, i went over to the E-Room and they told me that I had GAD, this is when Xanax came in to my life. I stopped taking the ambien because the Xanax helped with the sleep. This Wed I went to see my Dr. and he prescribed Seroquel and Effexor, now correct me if I am wrong, but in order to get off Xanax can't I just ween off of it and take half a pill until I come of of it.
Avatar f tn The psychiatric community knows that ADs can cause poblems; Lamictal is approved for BP depression. So is Seroquel. They might as well go down that route, instead of putting people on ADs straight off of the bat. I go with my shrink's advice until she talks about messing with the Lamictal and then I put my foot down. But, you also have to be careful with the medical professional you are seeing...
Avatar f tn The Zoloft might be the wrong med for you. Augmentation means adding medications to other medications. but the proper way to do this is only if the first med is actually working and you just need it to work better. If the Zoloft didn't work very well augmenting it isn't going to do the trick, you need to try a different first med. As for seroquel, I also advise people to check out this med for themselves.
906819 tn?1242453662 Hi Everyone! I am new here and I just have a quick question. I am Bi-Polar and I have a lot of sleeping issues, as well. I've been throught the gammit of meds. I currently take Depakote for my moods and I was on Seroquel for sleep, but I can't stand the weight gain and sluggishness anymore.
Avatar f tn I dwell on everything I say, which causes me to not talk to anyone UNLESS I'm manic than I have great conversation skills. Unfortunately I'm terrified of mania also. I also have debilitating panic/anxiety attacks, even when in busy grocery stores etc. I assume once I get stable those might get better and my thought processing will be easier and I won't feel like the things I say are so stupid.
1295419 tn?1276822872 I suffer from GAD and am currently trying to find the right dose of medication. I am doing a lot better since starting Lexapro 3 weeks ago, but still not 100%. It seems like every morning when I wake up I am panicky. My heart races as soon as my eyes open up. It gradually gets better the longer I am up but I was curious if anyone else feels more anxious as soon as they wake up in the morning?
1349329 tn?1276985202 My Dr. has prescribed a low dose of Seroquel for me to help with sleep while I'm detoxing. I did an internet search for information and found a website that sells this Medication and you don't need a prescription. I'm going copy and past what it says about how to take it etc., Read everything it says, it is "Totally Crazy." Drug Name Seroquel (Quetiapine) Drug Uses Seroquel is masterpiece for treating schizophrenia or bipolar boisterousness.
Avatar m tn Also my problem is mainly GAD and mild depression has come with it. Currenlty, I am taking pregabalin for GAD. Wonder drug for me. I am little concerned with it side effects such as infertility and birth defects. Apart from that I am very happy with this med.
Avatar n tn and other 170 different OTC and RX that are available). I did not see Seroquel on the list and see that it is mainly for manic depression/ biopolar disorder, etc. Thanks.
Avatar f tn This drug is for the GAD, but not if it's just for the insomnia. If it helps with the GAD it will apparently help with the insomnia, but antidepressants aren't sleep aids. As the above suggests, melatonin is for sleep. A lot of people are put on drugs that have an unwanted side effect of making people sleepy, but that doesn't make it a good choice for sleeplessness.
Avatar m tn seroquel is a great crisis drug for some people but it isn't a good way of life..took it for months and hated the clumsiness it gave me (athlete) how lazy it made me feel..the overly numb feeling..the blood pressure drops..tardive dyskenisia which i get with most of the drugs lesser with anxiety meds than anti psychotics..Some people just don't do well with these powerful drugs and there isn't a lot of sympathy from people who prescribe them..Omega 3 pharmaceutical grade..CBD oil..
Avatar m tn For almost a week now I havent felt quite right I've been having alot of headaches , earaches , sweating although my feet feel cold , increased anxiety(i have GAD) , nausea sometimes w/vomitting , no fever i dont think , difficulty sleeping , drenching nightmares and sudden sharp pains at the base of my skull/top of my neck , I take Cymbalta , Seroquel , Trileptal , Neurotin, and Klonopin daily I dont know if I just dont feel well from depression or stress or if it's manifesting itself p
766412 tn?1234893283 When I was taking seroquel, (quetiapine), I found it to be a really stabilising drug, I didn't have any real extremes of mood, and weirdly, never cried. My only problems were that I got very tired at times, and often got cramps in my legs, but after awhile taking it those things became less harsh. Good luck with it.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and have been on Seroquel 200 mg for approx one year. Since being on the med I have experienced extreme forgetfulness. My short term memory is especially affected and it's getting progressively worse. I don't think forgetfulness is listed as a side effect of Seroquel. I was wondering if anyone else on this med has experienced the same.
569026 tn?1216982293 Taken several SSRIs in the past for anxiety. Adderall XR for ADD, Wellbutrin too. I have been seeing a therapist for about 4 months and he had me go for a psychiatry evaluation a few days ago. The two concrred that I am "complex" and could be a combination of BiPolar 2, Adult ADD and even...Borderline Personality Disorder (god I hate that name). Anyhow, one of the main symptoms we all agreed upon was the mood swings.
447130 tn?1225470866 Afetr being on 100mg of Seroquel at night for about a month now, my sleep is back to normal and the seroquel is making me feel better, keeping depression at bay. I've been through a rough 2 weeks with some personal things and I came through like a champ. I don't need Restoril or Ambien anymore and I have adjusted to Seroquel so my doc wants me on it for a bit longer. He explained sleep is crucial to bipolar disorder and ordered my on the Seroquel until otherwise notified.
Avatar f tn said replace the 3rd xanax with the seroquel 25mg before be d to seep how it works. OK i start taking Seroquel Fri night. Sat. i feel tired a little out of it and feel like I'm gonna have a panic attack. I say OK it probably just the meds getting into me. sun feel the same way. Mon. feel like a zombie not in my own body, very jittery lightheaded. also i flipped out on my husband for no reason. took it again Mon night Tues.
Avatar m tn If this is the case, then it is in my opinion not a bad choice, though some would argue there are better(safer) options due to the risk factors involved with the class of drugs to which Seroquel belongs. There are a number of other(*safer*) drugs that are being prescribed for sleeping issues which includes antihistamines such as Atarax/ Hydroxyzine or Phenergan/Promethazine or small doses of tricyclic drugs like Doxepin/Sinequan, Mianserin/Tolvon and many more.
Avatar f tn Believe me, I do understand. I haven't been able to sleep properly for years now because of the effects of medication. But the key is, since sleep meds interfere with normal patterns of sleep, they make the problem permanent, particularly the difficulty getting to REM sleep. Everyone has to do what they feel is best, and I know natural remedies won't work for everyone. Neither will meds.
Avatar f tn Seroquel has now worked for 3 nights of sleep. I take clonazapam and lamtrogine. What could I add as decrease 1 of these? Is tegretol a good choice? Long ago I took lithium, but ballooned up in weight. Suggestions to discuss w/my doctor?
Avatar m tn 25mg/3x a day), and several weeks ago, he had me get off the xanax. He then prescribed me seroquel (100mg) for the anxiety, and it seems to be helping, but I'm still 'paranoid' and have anxiety. I have very strong/weird fears of people. Every time I leave the house, I feel as someone is watching me and it makes my head 'spin'. I'm afraid of what people think of me, or what they might if they see I'm so paranoid. I kinda cant stand it anymore.
