Ok , because i was put on seroquel 50 mg and 10 citalopram and where on them for 6 weeks and they did nothing at all, so he upped the seroquel to 100mg and citalopram to 20mg and its been 2 weeks and still nothing , :S

I am taking my medication for my bipolar, anxiety but the thing is sometime I dont want to take the seroquel at night because I do not want to be put into a drug induce sleep. I like to be aware of my surroundings and I would like to be alert in case anything was to happen. I talked this with my social worker but because of the severity of my mania I think she wants me to be on a higher dosage or atleast a different kind.

Thanks for your encouraging comment. I just saw my psych who also started me on Lamictal. I hope to eliminate the Seroquel as well. It just makes me feel like I'm having an out of body experience and it's scary to not remember doing/saying things. I'm really confused about how bipolar is treated. When I was first diagnosed (1 yr ago) I was in a manic state and the Seroquel my doc prescribed helped bring me down to "normal" mood.

my depression is usually not severe, still i can't function without an antidepressant. Thus the dilemma --> manic --> antipsychotics --> lethargic --> antidepressant ... i.e. the usual My meds are the least dosage: 1mg risperidone, 25mg seroquel, 12.5mg stablon (AD) but it's the instability that suffocates me. So if I can find some supplement adjunct to my AD then i can lessen my dosage of AD which in fact i tried it once and found myself doing well but my energy was low.

I am curious to know if a 75mg nightly dose of Seroquel for sleep can increase depressive symptoms during the day. If so, should I discuss a change in meds or dosage with my HCP?

I just got my blood results back..TSH 3.2 T-4Free low @.74..the reason I went for the blood tests is I was losing a lot of hair..and I know if you're losing "good" hair ..that is the 1st sign that something is wrong..Had a b12 serum test and it came back at 350.. Did interferon 2 years ago for 48 wks and NEVER had a TSH level over 2.0 ! That was my biggest concern on interferon.. !! I have been extremely tired, achey, and of course, the hair loss..

I ran across something on the net about Seroquel. It was another forum that I got the info about Seroquel. On this forum someone was talking about there being a tort action lawsuit against the makers of Seroquel. That it is causing excessive weight gain, diabetes, very high blood pressure in people taking this antipsychotic. I am wanting to know further about these complications caused by Seroquel. My 28 year old son has been on this med for approximately 4 years now.

I thought I remember a while back someone posted that they were doing OK on Lamictal but when the doc increased the dosage, the person started having anxiety attacks. Is that true? I recently went up to 200mg/day and I've started having anxiety and now wondering if I should ask the doc to decrease the dosage. He also discontinued the Seroquel but now I'm having major depressive episodes.

Dear Ronndy I would say that 100 mg Seroquel is a very high dosage to treat insomina. Usually you would take only 10-25 mg in that respect. It seems that you could have some withdrawl problems as you stopped klonopin abruptly. As Paxiled pointed out it is a bit "heavy" to prescribe klonopin for insomnia when "lighter" medications are available, for instance zolpidem or zopiklone. Or anti-histamine(allergy-medication as atarax).

should i stop taking the wellbutrin for depression and increase my dosage of seroquel xr to 300-400mg?

I have been on seroquel since 2006. Don't understand the meaning of "to be good". Seroquel is a good drug from my experience.

I am on Zoloft and seroquel for bipolar. How much sleep should i get at night to feel good in the morning? I've been asleep for almost twelve hours and woken up dead tired to the point that I'll turn my alarm off and not get up... Help?

Before, i was on zoloft and adivan, mostly took the adivan at night for sleeping issues.. But that hasnt worked, i saw my new psych md today and she gave me seroquel, and told me to only take it before bed time. I'll still be taking zoloft but no more adivan.. Has anyone took seroquel? Again, i have panic disorder, low self esteem... and depression sometimes...

Lamictin 50mg in the morning and Welbutrin XL 300MG in the morning. The reason they increase Seroquel and Lamictin is to achieve the correct dosage but mainly due to the side-effects it may have, more like an allergy thing, ex Steven Johnsons syndrome. Though it is rare, but still a possibility. My advise is to leave your meds as prescribed by your dr. You will not get addicted to it and crave more.

After his psychiatrist put his dosage upto 900mg of seroquel without incrimental increases he was taken to see another dr. Told sometimes it takes time to get the right dosage worked out and to give it time. The dilusional behavior is now out of control!! But this was recognised as a notable reaction and the higher dose maybe the correct one.

That said, I'm a bit nervous (go figure) about taking a poll here on your doctor's advice. So mI -and all responsible members of this forum -while we may report personal experience- will tell you to listen to the doc unless you have some spoecial reason to doubt.

Hello, I have been taking Seroquel at 50MG for about 7 years at bedtime with .5 mg of Xanax all prescribed for Mood/Anxiety Disorder. I wanted to ask, if I were to drink heavily (six pack) once a week, would this affect my liver functioning due to these medications, specifically Seroquel? I used to drink more, but cut it back to only once a day last few months. Last liver test was alright, but bilirubin levels were high normal. thank you.

I suffer from bi-polar and sleep disorders. My dr. prescribed many different things and nothing worked until the dosage of Seroquel was up to 600mg per night. Even at this dose I'm not sleeping more than 2 hours at a time. My weight has soared from 130 to 195 over the past couple of years.

Hello Everyone! Anyone have positive effects on Seroquel for GAD? I know it's an anti-psychotic for Schizophrenia and BP1 & 2. I have read everything I can find on this drug. I have been given 25mg a night for GAD that has developed over the last 5 months. I have a history of severe depressive episodes and have been on Effexor for yrs (300mg/day). The depression has been held back relatively well but the GAD and some symptoms of depression are creeping in.

I have been on seroquel for probably 8-10 years now for Bipolar disorder & have always been on the brand name, no generic,ever. But my patient assistance was back ordered so for a few months ive had to get it at the pharmacy as the generic name. I just now got my Seroquel (brand name med) and I am having the same side effects I did when I 1st started years ago. Can it really make this much of a difference? It’s the same dose, but I mean im falling asleep all thru out the day!

he decided upper me up to 750 and then to 1000mg, that I took twice already. How long it takes for Depakote to work at the right dosage???? Hopefully, xanax dosage reduction goes away and depakote will start working. Thanks so much for your help!!!!

Adel, another thing that I remember about Seroquel is that my primary doctor (not a psychiatrist) uses Seroquel in low doses for Alzheimers patients. She prescribes really small doses less than 75 mg for Alzheimers patients. She thinks I am on an extremely large dosage, but it's working now for almost 7 years, of no hospitalizations for mania.

As I got better, the dosage of Seroquel was decreased and I am now on 200mg and doing well. Seroquel worked wonders for me and I hope it helps you as well.

I'm taking a LEXAPRO 30mg, KLONOPIN 5mg and SEROQUEL 25mg cocktail everyday for my Depression/Panic Disorder/Anxiety and I can barley stay awake. I feel like a zombie. True I don't want to kill Myself anymore. But I don't really feel alive anymore either.
