I've just changed docs and now he has put me on seroquel, i was on lithium. I was wondering is seroquel better than lithium? I was only diagnosed 18mths ago and already been on three different meds???

My question here today is i take 600mg of Seroquel at night but my Psychiatrist has me taking up to another 600mg during day if im becoming homicidal. I also take 600mg Lithium..150mg Efexor..10mg Valium..Dexampatamine for ADHD.. I know they are basicaly putting a chemical restraint on me..I want to come off Seroquel but ive been on a high dose for years. I often wonder do all these meds add to my aggression? Im 43 woman living in Australia does anyone have any advice ?

When i start to worry little bit i started to get ill. I was disable to concentrate on my work. Later i took seroquel 300mg which i took in past and found some freshness. I was smooth on seroquel but when doctor start changing medicine from seroquel to risperdal , slowly disaster begin on my life. I miss 2 jobs. Which was so easy. Later i took the seroquel back i felt some relief now. If not i cant conecntrate, i dont like computer, i cant study, slow, happens. Does this happened to any of you?

Am I doomed to feel like this the rest of my life, or should I insist on trying some different meds, knowing I may have to try several of them before I find anything that helps my symptoms. Also, the darn meds cost so much -- I do have health insurance but it only covers part of the cost.

Well, I got an eye problem but this is not an exact eye problem but if i study for long time on computer I get stress on my head. I m taking seroquel now, but in past seroquel was so much perfect. But in the mean time doctor changes medicine to respredal that made me hard for one year, Then when i try to return back to seroquel it is able to do all the thing expect one thing., that is i feel somebody put stone over my head. Or a strong wave on my head.

how much this may cost I would know whether or not I should travel back to Australia where I can have it done for free there. I have a complex nodule on my Thyroid gland measuring up to 2.6cm. Any input into the cost of these procedures would be greatly appreciated.

t know where in the world you live and will presume you are in USA. Here in Australia it cost me around $300 per treatment. I had two treatments done about 6 weeks apart You can't have it done sooner, it takes that long for the veins to collapse. The stockings are extremely expensive too, over $125 a pair. I don't know how much they would be in USA. I can't recommend anyone unless you live in Melbourne, Australia! Cheers!

morning 25mg seroquel, lunch 25 seroquel, supper 1mg stelazin, dinner 25mg seroquel+1mg risperidone before going to sleep). Today, when I posted (does mania come suddendly), for the 1st time, my stelazin didn't work it lasted only for 2 hrs and I started feeling the devil inside me like I want to kill someone, I also saw the devil in the mirror. I will be taking instead 50mg seroquel before going to bed, hoping to land again by tomorrow. However I discovered something new.

Talked to my pdoc yesterday about a long term drug. I'm taking Seroquel and Escitalopram at the mo. Seroquel is not approved here as along term maintenance drug and she has suggested either valproate or olanzapine as I can't take Lithium because of blood pressure issues and a possibility of kidney failure. I am very sensitive to drugs and usually take the lowest does possible as I get all the rare side effects. I only take 50mg of Seroquel and thats enough to bring me down.

We had it done. Im in the u.s. and it took 2 weeks to get back. My insurance covered it.

You can now get it done in Australia but you will need to pay for it - cost about $2k and not covered by medicare or private healthfund (if in Australia). the blood sample will be taken in Australia but will be shipped to Sequenom in San Diengo for testing as we do not have lab facility here yet. I have found that the comity of the FDA think that seroquel as too much health risks to be prescribe for anxiety. That doesnt seems to prevent psychiatrist to prescribe it whatsoever... I would like to understand how we do prescribe a medication that was design for squizophrenia, which is probably a brain degenerative illness in the first place, that may shrink non-squizophrenic patient brain around the mesolimbic pathway without knowing the exact outcome in the long term?

You may have to try a few different meds for your sleep and if you can get a prescription for around 25 mg of Seroquel you can take it throughout the day for anxiety and depression plus the cost will be less. Also 25 mg, in my experience, will not knock you out or make you a zombie.

He lives on the Gold Coast, Australia, Im in NZ and want to know what to suggest. He will try get a doctors apt but its kinda urgent and being a new NZ person working in Aust, it may cost him hundreds of $ to even see a doctor…can he get a treatment over the counter in Aust?
