I have been out of work for 2 months with bad anxiety, nightmares, dizziness. My physiologist prescribed zofoft 200mg. My question is about seroquel he has me taken 50mg at night. Is this drug safe and does it work for anyone . Just don't know about all the side effects. Please help if any information.
I have been experiencing sort of a non-stop full blown panic attack for about 2 weeks. Dr. put me on Lamicatal and Seroquel. The Seroquel knocked me out the first night, but now I need lots more to fall asleep. For the life of me I cannot figure out what started this for me, I mean it is really bad.
Did he titrate down on seroquel? My son took that medication at a low dose for about 2 months. Will say he had no issue when coming off of it. The question perhaps is if your husband is having a resurgence of mental health issues even including a brief bit of psychosis related to his ptsd? Did he begin any therapy for ptsd? My son had psychosis with his depression for a period of about 5 months.
You sent me a note, but I guess it's about this post. You don't describe the heart problems you're having. You don't say why you were on antibiotics or how long you were on them. You don't say how long you were on Seroquel or why you were put on it. This is an anxiety forum, but those aren't anti-anxiety drugs, so are you taking other meds for anxiety? Do you suffer from anxiety?
It is severe anxiety and this is the only reason I take this drug. The anxiety currently outweighs the concerns of the side effects of the Seroquel (and there are many side effects). This drug is a strong atypical anti-psychotic. It is usually used for BP1&2, and Schizophrenia symptoms. I am not a doc but I do not understand why a doc is prescribing this for a sleep aid. Also I have been on this for 1.5 weeks...the sedative effect is already wearing off in the evening...
I've been on 25 mg of Seroquel daily as a mood stabilizer (anxiety, amongst other things) for 10 months and I'm about to ween myself off of them. I still have a month's supply and my general doctor told me previously to take one pill every other day to see how that goes.
I started Seroquel with my medical doctor, then later saw a psychiatrist. I will be seeing my psychiatrist at the end of the month to refill my Valium (as needed) and to get another refill of Seroquel.

So they put me on a medication they put me on Seroquel.I've been on Seroquel for 7 years . I personally would not choose seraquil for anxiety unless I had underlying symptoms.The benifit of seroquel is it stays in your system longer than the xanax does, it would also get rid of the comming down feeling you can sometimes get with xanax.25mg. of seroquel is a very low yet reasonable strength for your needs You can over time develop a resistant to the mgs. your taking and will have to raise the dose or go to something else.I am bi polar 1 rapid cycler with acute anxiety. I take 100 mgs.
m diagnosed with that also) my anxiety level is pretty stable. As for Seroquel, I had the same problem with weight gain(40 lbs.) so told my doctor to take me of it and I've since lost the weight through diet and exercise. One outlet that I find very useful for anxiety is meditation, even for a few minutes a day. Hope you can find the right combination of medications to relieve your anxiety. Good Luck!
when i was 5 months pregnant i began having terrible anxiety again (had it all through high school), so bad i couldnt drive anymore let alone take showers. after i had my daughter i couldnt leave the house, i was on a whole new level. so they gave me zoloft and the experience was terrible, i woke up and my body would have like waves of heat, i couldnt sit still, anxiety, grinding of the teeth, and weird vision but i think it was the dilated pupils, it was like i was on exstacy.
23 year old female - Ive had insomnia as long as i can remember, it goes hand and hand with my anxiety/depression which im trying to treat but also very non-responsive to meds.
Ive tried various sleep meds but the one i have found helpful is Seroquel. It gave me great sleep at 25mg for about a month until my body got used to it. Then I had to keep increasing, now im at 300mg!!
I took zeldox for only 3 days before deciding to go back onto seroquel. I think seroquel is much more of a help. The zeldox did not help me sleep yet it made me feel as though I were stuck in a daze the whole next day and I could barely do anything. Seroquel can do that however seroquel does help you sleep at the same time.
when it comes to treating anxiety. The situations in where I saw Seroquel be beneficial was in patients with more than one psych diagnosis.
If you haven't already, post in our Chiari group, and provide a link to this thread, and ask for their input. My knowledge about CM is very basic. There may even be some special considerations as far as antidepressants with CM, I wouldn't know.
