541465 tn?1219427886 HI, I normally take 120 mgs of methadone daily ( been clean off opiates or over 6 months now), take 2mgs of Klonopins daily, and 50 to 100mgs of phenergan (promethazine or promethazine hyrochloride, ) , AND 0.2 mgs of Chlonodine a day,. . . . .AND, 200mgs oF seroquel ( but only used for sleep. Im prescribed all the meds so this pill i found which i knew was a Tramadol/Ultram 50 mgs. Is that safe? The only interaction that i am worried about is the methadone.
Avatar f tn I was just thinking, my husband started seroquel last week and has pretty much slept since then. As I already told you, he is bipolar. He no longer has anxiety and when he is awake, he is way more calmer than before. Soooo, I started to search the web and found out that they give a lot of people going through w/d this drug. More herion users than anyone else....but they have found that it helps with opiod users as well. Hmmmm, this may have me excited.
1575129 tn?1296004646 he has sent me to another doctor,he has me on tramadol, and it does not work.
Avatar n tn I wake up ny legs and feet hurt and are very stiff. My back, hip and head hurt. I took it at 9pm and it is 1pm. I still am in a fog. Don't even know how I have managed to take care of my 3 kids. My house is pure mess and I can't find the energy to clean it. Is it worth it? Am I suppose to stick it out and it will get better. Give me a 10mg oxycodone and I am superwoman! How come there isn't a psycho drug I can take that will make me feel like I do when I take percocet?
Avatar m tn See if your doctor can write you a prescription for some Requip for restlessness (it is the very best treatment for RLS or RAS), Neurontin for anxiety and malaise, some Flexeril or Soma for a few weeks for muscle spasms and maybe some Seroquel low dose, for sleep. It will make your withdrawals easier. Valerian and Magnesium is sometimes helpful remedies over the counter. The residual symptoms of insomnia and depression can last another few months.
Avatar m tn How does one find a doctor with knowledge and experience with opiate withdrawal and should I be looking for a medical doctor or a physiatrist?
Avatar f tn I started taking 50mg of Seroquel in December for sleep. Shortly after I began to feel as if I couldn't breathe. I went to the ER and they checked me out and told me it was anxiety. So I saw My nurse practitioner and she prescribed Vistaril 50 mg 3x a day. I room it for a week. Still had the same symptoms. I figured out It was The seroquel. I tried to call the nurse but they are never available so I did not do my homework on this med and quit it cold Turkey.
736475 tn?1281259327 does anyone have info about long term use of seroquel and how it affects you? my hubby tried to stop taking it and got all messed up. they are 50mg xr. thanks.
Avatar n tn Trying to taper off and get off opiates, morphine and oxy. can clonidine be taken at the same time to help with not having as much of the opiates? and help with the withdrawls?
Avatar f tn They will slowly lessen, for a long time if anything strange is going on with you just look up Seroquel withdrawal and note that your symptom is on the list and try to remind yourself so it doesn't cause undue anxiety or stress. Knowing what is going on with your body will help you deal with it. Strangely, Benedryl seems to help many of the withdrawal symptoms. Additionally melatonin and Gasx/peppermint oil can help relieve a lot of the side effects of Seroquel withdrawal.
Avatar m tn I am sleeping maybe every 3 nights, but the nights I do not sleep and take the seroquel; I feel really weird and think it is making me go crazy. I do not know if I should decrease the seroquel? When is this nightmare going to be over for me? I want to be able to sleep normally, I want to feel normal again and I do not want to feel like I am on this emotional rollocoaster. I think my neurotransmitters and equalibrium are going hay wire. Is my brain going to heal?
Avatar f tn s exact titration schedule (the only way it should be done) I got some typical flu like withdrawal symptoms for a few days and then it passed over. If your psychiatrist has authorized you to change medications, ask them exactly how it should be done and what to expect.
Avatar f tn I'm so sorry that you were prescribed this for insomnia. That should have never happened. This is an antipsychotic and should only be prescribed for such illness. 700mg is an incredibly high dose to just stop taking it at, even though you've only been taking it for a month. Unfortunately, most doctors don't know the withdrawal effects or how long it lasts because they weren't taught that and that wasn't studied, so it's really hard to find articles online about it.
8265858 tn?1403378544 As you already know, it usually takes several weeks of the really nasty symptoms of acute withdrawal, followed by several months of just insomnia and general weakness and depression. A physician may be able to prescribe you some Neurontin (gabapentin) for general malaise, anxiety and muscle cramps, Requip for the restless leg syndrome and possibly something like Seroquel low dose for the insomnia.
Avatar m tn I have been off the Klonopin since 3/20/2009 and since 3/20 if have been taking Seroquel. I did not experience seizures since I stop Klonopin but after I stop Klonopin and switched to Seroquel there are nights I can't sleep... it's been like when I had a good sleep last night the next night I can't sleep. I am also experiencing muscle jerk and back pain. Do you think these are Klonopin withdrawals?
Avatar f tn m worried sick about her having withdrawal symptoms or going manic. I have spoken to the hospital and they say it will be fine but my research says otherwise. I don't know what to do. Her regular doctor is on vacation till Monday. Any insight or help will be greatly appreciated.
Avatar f tn For 2 days I was extremely hot or cold and it changed every few minutes. (I was scared and awake so I called my doctor and will see her tomorrow.) I could not sleep at all and was very restless. I slept one night but now I'm back to not sleeping. I am also itching so freaking bad. Everywhere. I feel like a crackhead or something. Anyone know how long this lasts? Oh, I am bipolar II and am still taking depakote. Thanks.
Avatar f tn I was officially off the medication January 12, 2009. I had the usual withdrawal problems, vomiting, nausea, and insomnia during the first week. But, the only withdrawal symptom that has not gone away is the insomnia. I have been averaging about 4-5 hours a night. I can't fall asleep before 4 am and I wake up every hour (sometimes stay awake for a good hour) until I wake up at 11 am. I am extremely tired all the time.
Avatar f tn I hope you are doing ok. I went through one day of it and it was awful. Worse than any opiate withdrawal. The sad thing was that I was only taking the tramadol because I ran out of my opiates. I took it for about a week and figured the opiates were out of my system and I should not have withdrawal from tramadol from such a short time period. Boy was I wrong. The RLS, sneezing, pain and anxiety were much worse than opiates.
Avatar n tn So i am day 10 of being sober off of a 6 year vicodin habit of 40 tabs of 750mg a day and cant get more than 3 hours of sleep a night. I just got a script from my doc for Seroquel and he says it will help with my sleep and anxiety. But he says it will be about 3-4 days of feeling pretty poor. I am feeling better every day and the last thing i want to do is go through 4 days of feeling like c r a p. I have tried Lunesta, melatonin and benadryl with no luck.
544292 tn?1268882668 I need more! More information! http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_bad_is_Tramadol_withdrawal Question - How bad is Tramadol WIthdrawal? Answer - Ultram (Tramadol) Withdrawal Tramadol is highly addictive. Normally your doctor would reduce intake slowly. Avatar f tn Just in case you are curious, it takes us three to four days to detox a patient from methadone or any other opiate and get him/her back home drug free and feeling well on Naltrexone therapy (no opiates). At home, the basic technique is to space out the pills you take on a consistent manner until you take only one at night, than half at night, than every other night and then none.
Avatar f tn I applaud your resolve to get clean, but want to caution you that methadone is a long acting narcotic and your withdrawal symptoms will stick around for quite a while. You will feel rotten for as long as four to six weeks. You may want to switch to something shorter acting, talk to your doctor about it, and taper off of that. There is really no easy way of detoxing from home. I have dealt with hundreds of addicts who have all told me horror stories of doing it by themselves.
Avatar f tn I was prescribed Lorazepam for anxiety last Dec.-June. (2 mg a day for 4 of 6 mo.) I became addicted & could not taper off it myself so went to a detox center. They gave me phenobarbital since I reacted to the other benzos, plus Seroquel, Vistaril, & Trazadone. The detox was for 10 days and it was almost 3 months ago. I have been experiencing muscle twitching the past few weeks all over my body & some eye blinking.
Avatar n tn i took 250 mg of seroquel and the medicine was not prescribed to me and now i feel weak what should i do
Avatar m tn This should minimize your withdrawals. The withdrawal from it is essentially the same as the one for the opiates and usually takes several weeks of the really nasty symptoms followed by several more of just insomnia and general weakness and depression. See if a doctor is able to prescribe you some Requip for the restless leg syndrome and possibly something like Seroquel low dose for the insomnia.
