The knowledge that I have is that xanax and Seroquel do not have an impact on your liver. Also 50 mgs of Seroqeul is very low dose. I am on 600. However it looks like you have hepatitis c and you probably know you shouldn't drink because of that. There are likely a lot of medications that effect your liver. The only ones I know of are Tylenol and pain medicines that contain acetaminophen, but I am sure there are likely a lot more.

I also am bipolar depressive and was on Effexor, which pooped, then Paxil and 600mg Seroquel. I went from 130 to 180 in 6 months and was having ongoing panic attacks. Day and night for an entire year. I'll tell you what made the panic attacks and depression go away. I quit antidepressants and sloooooly tapered off the seroquel. It was remarkable. The antidepressants were making me crazy. The awful anxiety slowly got better, although not all the way.

My 34 year old son is taking 150 mg imipramine, 6 (1mg) Clonozapam, and 400mg Seroquel, (down from 600 mg) per day. His side effects are weakness, irregular heartbeat and eye problems. One of his eyes has gotten so bad that he may have to get a cornea transplant. Yes when I was on Seroquel I had to get an eye exam each year due to the extremely rare risk of cataracts but I saw an opthamologist anyway so it was no big deal. That is statisically rare and no reason to be concerned about Seroquel and a check up as I suggested is the best form of follow up. Seroquel is safe in this regard. In this case (you know I am always factual) your pharmacist was overstating the risk but a follow up visit is generally a good idea.

Right now I am manic with mixed states and rapid cycling. seroquel takes care of that. I saw my pdoc as i was convinced that it's time to add a mood stabilizer like the usual therapy. Back in time, I didn't tolerate neither tegretol nor lamictal. what is left is lithium or valproate. of course there are less famous drugs like trileptal, topamax,..... i took 2 pills of lithium and i had serious insomnia for 2 days, intolerable, dry mouth,...the usual.

not at all, its a prescription, but it has saved me from the chills sweats and anxity, and it makes you sleep i went into the hospital with bad symptoms and they gave me some to try and said it is safe to use non addictive and can get it from a doctor, it is the only thing that has worked for me and this is the first time i had an aid to get clean i also picked up a bunch of vit's that supposedly help and im on day 4 and i think they are really helping but seriquil is a for sure way to help,

I believe seroquel caused my eye problems. My vision kept getting worse and worse on seroquel and i just found out i have a serious eye disease called KERATOCONUS. It is suppose to be genetic but no one in my family has this. So it has to be the seroquel. I have a borderline personality disorder, but I'm not bipolar (as far as I know) and I'm taking Seroquel (don't know why) and Lexapro (for anxiaty & depression). I've read Seroquel is for bipolar, maniac depression and schizofrenia but I'm not sure which of this three aplies in my case. I cut myself, have burned, starve, binge, make myself throw up, have anxiaty atacks and I am generally depressed.....

Yes I gained a fair amount of weight on Depakoate (another brand name for Epilim) and Seroquel. I do know I had less of a problem with weight gain with Lamictal and that among the current generation of antipsychotics, Abilify, Fanapt and Saphris are the least likely to cause weight gain but each person responds differently to each medication. Ask your psychiatrist about available options.

People differ on how difficult it is to stop a drug -- some have no problems, some moderate problems, some intractable problems. You seem to be having some mild problems so far. Seroquel is a powerful drug and was never intended to be used for sleep, but docs do get to do this once a drug is approved -- they can then use it for anything they want.

Thanks for your support and response. I was treated from the ages of about 13 to 19 for social anxiety disorder with paxil. I have no family history of neurological problems. I have been taking lexapro since it was prescribed to me initially at a start dose of 10 mg tapered up to 30. Recently, my psychiatrist has added seroquel at 100 mg twice a day. It should be noted that i stopped taking paxil on my own about 4 years ago.

I have been on Seroquel 600mg and Effexor 300mg. I too am having nerve problems with my ulner nerve, numb, tingling along the inside of my left arm along with the pinky, ring finger and side of my palm. In addition to that, my inside left calf, ball of my foot and big toe are the same. If you just had a minor elevation in anxiety than talk to your therapist (if you have one) and ask them what you can do along with the meds to pull you out of it.

I've been on 25 mg of Seroquel daily as a mood stabilizer (anxiety, amongst other things) for 10 months and I'm about to ween myself off of them. I still have a month's supply and my general doctor told me previously to take one pill every other day to see how that goes. I started Seroquel with my medical doctor, then later saw a psychiatrist. I will be seeing my psychiatrist at the end of the month to refill my Valium (as needed) and to get another refill of Seroquel.
