Seroquel and liver problems

Common Questions and Answers about Seroquel and liver problems

seroquel

I am 24 weeks pregnant, was on 125 mgs of <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>seroquel</span> and now down to 75. My psychiatrist who works at my maternity clinic says stay on it! My baby girl is doing just fine in there, perfect heart beat and is growing as she should. Discuss it with your dr.
my viral load was undetected 8 months post treatment, and my <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>liver</span> test have been normal 18 months post treatment. My <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>liver</span> biopsy was Stage 2, Grade 2, with signs of beginning stage 3. I was genotype 3a. Now my question, I have been taking Trazodone an anti-depressant. It has been working well, I have more energy and a desire to do things, it helps me stay active. The problem is that there is a warning on about possible liver damage, and to use caution if you have liver disease.
Cut out all caffine and 'sugary' drinks. I use SAMe for <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>liver</span>, mood and joint problems. Try a very low protein, low dairy, low salt whole grain diet, avoiding the whites-white sugar, white flour, white rice and breads and pasta. spicy or acidy food can cause joint discomfort, so go easy on citrus and 'hot and spicy' foods also. doesn't leave much does it? take a long walk everyday and a hot shower or tub before bed time. This raises the core body heat and acts as a natural sleep aid.
I take the Ambien CR and it has helped me GREATLY. I've ALWAYS had problems falling asleep...and with it I knock right out after about an hour of taking it. And I don't have any trouble waking up in the morning.
I have been diagnosed with HCV, genotype 2b. I am to start tx on Aug 28,2007. I know that type 2 has good prognosis, 80% with sustained viralogical response. I am in a liver clinic so I have many doctors. I contracted the virus in the late 1980's, due to drug use, and was informed by the Red Cross that I could never donate blood. This was in 1990. Thay could not give me a reason due to no test for HCV.
One of the problems on your fantastic(!!) website is that your links and your html pages aren't in the same case. For instance, almostdone2's link doesn't work because you have it coded to go to Almostdone2 and the filename is almostdone2. I haven't checked any others but I bet that's the problem. This stuff is case sensitive.
even dealing with a bipolar II diagnosis, i cant even believe that he would put him on ALL of those medications. Lithium AND Depakote AND <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>seroquel</span>? My GOD! I am a bipolar1 with severe psychosis/dysphoric rage, and i dont take any of those medications (by choice) and im doing FINE and have been stable for over 6 months. im just glad there is a happy ending. all the best to you and your family.
, but Ive yet to find a medication that gives me back my energy and motivation to get out of bed and do something. Im on Wellbutrin and the anti-psychotic <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>seroquel</span>. They help, but not like I wish they would. And now....Since Ive been reading around this forum, I realize my doctor has not told me everything he should have. I have no clue what my stage and grade are. Never even knew there was such a thing.
But we watched my husband's best friend die from liver failure last year, and that was scarier (albeit alcohol cirrhosis, not hepc, so I could tell myself not to worry). And now my Mom and my Aunt's sudden cirrhosis and now <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>liver</span> cx, (which I really thought would never happen), has me REALLY scared. <<Wellbutin is for mild to moderate depression, and you may require stronger drugs, or a combination of several drugs>>.
here's another thing to think about also...drinking causes fat to build up in the liver... fat cells multiply and get larger in the liver and cause a "fatty liver". fatty liver can keep the fibrotic liver getting worse even after loosing the virus... it has a way of moving a diseased liver on towards further damage and can keep the liver from recovering or even moving it onto cirhosis/cancer. fatty liver is pretty common in overweight people and in people who drink...
Although you read that lithium is safe with some, you encounter people having serious problems. valporex causes <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>liver</span> problems, all of them with no exception. Usually at the beginning you don't feel the issue but only after 10 years or so that the MS cause problems. in my drawrs I keep the british medical health guide as well as the american one, i read and i read but in vain.
, and/or cough ___Decreased appetite and/or nausea ___Spleen and/or liver enlargement ___Abnormal labs (low white blood count, low platelet counts, mild elevation of <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>liver</span> enzymes, and elevated sed rate) ___Headaches (migraine-like, persistent, and especially involving the back of the head and upper neck areas) ___Joint pain (more common with Lyme and Bartonella) ___anxiety/panic (more common with Bartonella) ___Lymph gland swelling (more common with Bartonella and Lyme)
I live an amazingly high stress life (not enough room on the internet to go into that one) and have learned that when your body is enduring constant high stress, it causes your <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>liver</span> (? pretty sure it was <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>liver</span>) to produce an excess of enzymes and insullin to give your muscles the "strength" to cope with the physical side effects of stress. A natural defense mechanism but a real wammy for someone with PCOS and insullin resistance. I'm hoping it helps that issue too.
As long as you have a good doctor though, they are probably prescribing what you need, maybe medicines won't have the same affect on you as it does some people. There are probably many people who take it and have no problems. Good luck whatever you decide with your health issues!
what are the side effects of taking 30mg avanza and 400mg of <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>seroquel</span> xr and regular seroquel 100mg? what can happen to your organs while taking all of these together?
Opioid-induced hyperalgesia is a condition where the increased use of opiates, like Oxycontin and hydrocodone, heightens one's sensitivity to discomfort and reduces their tolerance for pain. Essentially, people will increase the amount of painkillers they are taking as their discomfort continues to escalate, but the added medication can actually make their pain worse.
I assumed the weight gain was due to different exercise and eating habits that were related to the stress of my job, a baby, and relationship problems. Finally this fall I focused on losing the weight. The first 2 things I noticed were how out of control the carb cravings were, and how difficult it was to develop stamina as I began to exercise regularly. Friends and a nutritionist told me those were because I am depressed and getting old (38).
i can't do physical labour, i lose, nobody to help, i found a doctor who put me on codeine phosphate (no tylenol because it's bad for your <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>liver</span> to be on it forever).and i've been okay so far, i couldn't sleep for **** for years and took one of my husband's seroquel at night, and slept properly for the first time in years.
I was referred to the Psychiatrist to sort out my meds, and start weaning me off valium, but instead, she just prescribed <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>seroquel</span>, now Zoloft, and has kept me on valium. My GP is also prescribing me valium. I assumed, and was told by my Psychiatrist, that she is reporting my progress to my GP, that they both know they are both prescribing valium 2 a day by each, making it 4 a day. I've tried to take less most days, none on other days, and then 6-10 on yet another day.
I just started taking Celexa (again) after 2 years of being off it, and have some of the side effects, dizzyness, major sleep problems, and some nausea. they are slowly going away, but you have to remember that they are more present at the beggining and will soon go away, and then you will start to feel better, it may take a few weeks, to over a month, but just give it a chance.
HI, I normally take 120 mgs of methadone daily ( been clean off opiates or over 6 months now), take 2mgs of Klonopins daily, and 50 to 100mgs of phenergan (promethazine or promethazine hyrochloride, ) , AND 0.2 mgs of Chlonodine a day,. . . . .AND, 200mgs oF <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>seroquel</span> ( but only used for sleep. Im prescribed all the meds so this pill i found which i knew was a Tramadol/Ultram 50 mgs. Is that safe? The only interaction that i am worried about is the methadone.
He was in pain and the doctor wouldn't give him any medicine until he had a <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>liver</span> function blood test. So he got the test and they told him everything is ok with his <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>liver</span>. They told him they don't think it is active because of that but they took some more blood and sent it to the lab to run a different test to confirm that it is not active. Well I am scared to death we are going to find out he has it. It's all I think about. I asked him if he knows any way he could have gotten it.
Like i said i have been on 5 years and get blood work twice a year and my <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>liver</span> kidney and other organs are perfect! My blood pressure and cholesterol are perfect too, im very healthy and i work out too. Opiates if taken RESPONSIBLY which 90% of people cant do and dont have the self control to do, but if you have strong will power and take them responsibly instead of just getting ****** up out of your mind all day, then they are MUCH better for you than xanax and other benzos.
There is no reason you can't live a good life and enjoy your children! You do not mention that you had a biopsy or what stage and grade your <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>liver</span> are. Mine was already stage 3 when I found out so I decided I needed to do the treatment asap. Perhaps you do not have much liver damage and don't have to right now. The only thing you can do is to continue to investigate and find out where you stand. Know that either way life is NOT over at all!
get in and get an echo and a heart holtier!!!!!! I have the same issue, and there is something wrong with two of my valves. what is your resting heart rate oh I am 27. I live with one of those polar heart montiors from target!!!
I thought my problems were all caused by my mind and anxiety and to a degree they are. BUT - I have just realized that mine are really caused by HYPERVENTILATION SYNDROME - in a chronic form. That is why I havent got fully better even when I stop worrying. Anxiety makes your breathing wrong - more in your chest and faster. Then muscle spasm makes your chest tight. THen a whole range of symptoms little by little appear in your body over days or weeks.
) I was prescribed Clonazepam (similar to Xanax) because I am basically crackers and I take it with my usual <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>seroquel</span> and sometimes I add melatonin into the mix for my insomnia. Anyway my husband has found these to be a great help for sleep and relaxing. They seem to slow the central nervous system down (the info sheet states they are prescribed for epilepsy) and if anything, should help your whole body gear down a little and relax.
i wont touch the stuff now. and it is causing diabetes. and i just researched on the net. it causes bladder, kidney problems as well. just like todd is having. todd has been checked for diabetes. so far he does not have that. if we dont get him off the seroquel though, it will be the next thing, especially with his renal system acting up. and todd's blood pressure is always high. todd takes the same blood pressure med as me and bruce. my blood pressure was hard to control at first.
<span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>liver</span> or kidney disease; heart disease, high blood pressure, heart rhythm problems; a history of heart attack or stroke; a history of low white blood cell (WBC) counts; a thyroid disorder; seizures or epilepsy; cataracts; high cholesterol or triglycerides; a personal or family history of diabetes; or trouble swallowing.
Nothing! <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>seroquel</span> works, but I get dehydrated, depressed, cranky, and wake up in the middle of the night. I also get odd cravings. And I'm pretty useless the next day. I've tried ALL the natural stuff I could, for depression/anxiety/insomnia. I take very high fish oil doses daily, do yoga, meditate, take valerian...maintain a healthy lifestyle. Anyway...so now I am desperate to get over self-injury and anger management and a few things like abandonment issues etc. (classic BPD stuff).
