Seroquel and klonopin combination

Common Questions and Answers about Seroquel and klonopin combination

seroquel

Just wondering, what are the effects of Suboxone, Seroquel and Klonopin? He is on 12 mg of suboxone daily, and is prescribed 2 mg of Klonopin but he is abusing that already and taking about 20 mg of the klonopin. I am not overly worried, just because he was taking about 350 mg of valium a day before going on the sub a month ago, but of course there is some concern. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
approx ) When he got onto the suboxone about 5 weeks ago, his libido came back with a vengeance. Now he's on 12 mg of sub, about 20 mg of klonopin, and 75 mg of seroquel. Can someone please tell me what this combination of drugs does to a person's sex drive? Suddenly, he seems completely uninterested, again. Can loss of libido happen that quickly after switching drugs and coming off of so much?
1) Is it typical and appropriate to prescribe daily doses of Klonopin, Lamictal, Seroquel, AND Celexa? 2) If so, would it be appropriate for a patient who has never had a seizure, and has not been diagnosed with any psychosis? 3) Would the combination of these 4 drugs be likely to cause a side effect of interference with thinking, memory, and speech? A family member has been taking all 4 of these meds daily as prescribed this year.
I was put on Seroquel XR and could not tolerate it... I couldn't get up in the morning, driving was iffy and I was constantly tired throughout the day.. I'm back on a regular dose of 200mg/night (I take this drug specifically because it helps me sleep, otherwise I can't sleep). The suggestion of breaking out the dose throughout the day seems like it may be worth a try.....
Of course I never did illegal drugs but I did withdraw from Klonopin too fast and got a full body withdrawal symptom but I did it the wrong way and benzodiazepenes can be addictive but if I had done it the right way it wouldn't have happenened. Okay now back to Seroquel. If a person goes off Seroquel and they need an antipsychotic, after a while the psychosis will return. If its treating mood stabilization same thing. That's not "addiction". That's the symptoms returning.
he immediately put me back on Seroquel and gave me klonopin to help with the anxiety... it took about a week before I had some semblance to normal... it was horrible.
I have been on and off Seroquel for almost 4 years. Other than some serious weight gain (60 lbs. in 14 months), the effects for me were nothing short of a miracle - suffering from Cyclothymia (lower level Bipolar, mood disorder, hypomania and acute insomnia), this was a miracle drug for me. I had tried all of the regular suspects: lamictal, topamax, trileptal, trazedone, geodon, invega (which caused a pituitary mass/tumor), etc. the Seroquel was what worked.
1) Is it typical and appropriate to prescribe daily doses of Klonopin, Lactical, Seroquel, AND Celexa (plus Xanax on an as needed basis)? 2) If so, would it be typical and appropriate for a patient who has never had a seizure, and has not been diagnosed with manic depression, schizophrenia, or any other psychosis? 3) Would the combination of these 4 (or 5) drugs be likely to cause a side effect of interference with thinking, memory, and speech?
Last June I had a breakdown and I was out of state a a physician I went to put me on seroquel, lexapro, and vyvanse....along with my klonopin. This seemed to be working, then he added Adderall and I was amazed at this. I felt "normal" for the first time in 30 years. I could think straight, and as time has gone by the depression has gone. I take 30 mg of this a day. Recently, since the insurance said they would not pay for Vyvanse and Adderall the Dr.
I *know* he will be frustrated with my discontinuation of Wellbutrin--and that I had to self-medicate with Seroquel, more Klonopin, and a drink or two when I didn't want to take pills. I am addicted, and I feel it is the medical industry's fault. I didn't mean to become so terribly addicted. If I don't take my dose for even 10 hours, I shake and get cramps and fatigue and all sorts of horrible "flu" symptoms. I cannot do it alone; I know that much. But I want OFF of the stuff.
I always think I can go off pills and that I don't need them, and then someone can say something that irritates me, and I get so pissed. And it usually only lasts for a minute or two, but it's like I turn in to Linda Blair from the exorcist.. I was thinking that maybe I just need to take the Lamictal and not take the celexa since the lamictal is weight neutral.. Does anyone taking Lamictal think it will work for my mood swings?
even when you feel like crap, look in the mirror and FORCE yourself to smile and tell yourself how amazing and wonderful you are.
So now I'm clincically obese (it's been 7 years, almost 8 in a few months) and I don't know what to do anymore. Right now I'm on Geodon and Klonopin and they help out my BP and anxiety so much but at the risk of what??? being clinically obese??? I feel like this is some kind of sick joke.....
I was prescribed Topamax along with an appetite suppressant (Adipex) for weight loss a bit over a year ago and stopped taking them after two and a half months. I did not lose all of the weight I had wanted to, but most of it. I had gained 55 pounds while on Paxil over the course of two and a half years. By taking a combination of the two medicines, I lost 22 pounds the first month, 10 pounds the second month, and 8 pounds the first half of the third month.
Nortriptilyne is a sedating antidepressant, Seroquel is very sedating, and Klonopin can also be very sedating. Not to mention the Ambian (sleeping agent) No wonder your knocked out half the time. What doctor would prescribe a sedation combination such as that for Depression or even Bi-polar? The drugs aren't the problem, but rather your doctor is the problem. my doctor switched my meds she took me off ativan and lexapro and put me of seroquil and trileptal. i am in sweats all night i have a major headache i am so tired...
You could ask your psychiatrist about that. As for your other post I take Klonopin myself and have for ten years. As long as a person is responsible, it can be taken safely.
HEY EVERYONE, I JUST FINISHED READING A CLINICAL TRIAL ON GLUCOPHAGE AND HOW WHEN TAKEN IN COMBINATION WITH EFFEXOR (OR ANY ANTIDEPREESENT DRUG) CAN HELP WITH SUBSTANTIAL AND SUSTAINED WEIGHT LOSE. HAS ANYONE TRIED THIS? OR KNOW ANY MORE INFO ON THIS? PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS, I THINK I MIGHT ASK MY DOCTOR ABOUT THIS ONE.
As soon as I get into a place I get so dizzy and my vision is all messed up. I get so hot and sweaty and my heart races. I want my life back. I still dont believe that its just anxiety causing all of this. I feel like I have something else wrong that the doctors cant find even though i have had bloodwork, mri, ekg, and they were all normal. I started taking .25mg of xanax once a day. still dont feel any better yet. So if anybody has any help please give it to me.
Afetr being on 100mg of Seroquel at night for about a month now, my sleep is back to normal and the seroquel is making me feel better, keeping depression at bay. I've been through a rough 2 weeks with some personal things and I came through like a champ. I don't need Restoril or Ambien anymore and I have adjusted to Seroquel so my doc wants me on it for a bit longer. He explained sleep is crucial to bipolar disorder and ordered my on the Seroquel until otherwise notified.
As long as you know where your levels are For me lithium alone was not enough,,so I also take Seroquel and Lamictal and I have Klonopin as needed I am Bipolar1 rapid cycler Congrats on getting clean
Thats about it besides sleeping stuff (1.5 mg klonopin, and seroquel--50 mg). I am egn8598 and posted just above you if your interested. I don't have any side effects from Lamictal that I am aware. I do have tremor a bit but I believe that is from the antipsychotic. I think Lamictal is great--I have been on it for about 5 years? Its good to start on a low dose and increas, rather start too high. I think that is what I did, and it now does not work for me if I reduce my dosage. Good Luck! --E.
The make me completely calm and relaxed, and not wozy and out of it like benzos do. I have never tried to obtain them illegal or without reason, but have come to this conclusion on occassions when I have been given them for legitamate pain. I am curious to know if someone can offer any scientific or medical explaination as to why opiates are so effective. I am also curious whether there are any anxiety medications that incorporate opiate therapy.
I am presently taking zoloft, seroquel, klonopin and trazodone for generalized depression and anxiety. I am doing quite well and have been taking this combination of medications for about 1.5 years. I frequently have erectile difficulty which I can handle with Viagra but I have great difficulty with ejaculation. I feel like I am going to ejaculate but most of the time I can't. I know this is a problem with some of the medications I am taking.
I have been on many different medicines. I am now on seroquel 200mg and cymbalta 120 mg a day this combination of meds has helped me alot. The cymbalta exceeds the maximum amount but it helps me with my anxiety. I hope that you can get on some meds that help you. Don't give it it will happen and you will get better. Seeing a therapist on a regular basis has also helped me.
Now comes the turn of the risperidone (took 7 years non-stop) and seroquel (2 years and used to stop my mixed states). However if I were cyclothemic then it's only the AD which made me so, and the dose is minimal and by the way each time i consult another stupid ugly pdoc he would tell me you don't take meds rather these doses help you only to sleep. So tonight i won't take them and we will see. Do you know what will happen if i live till tomorrow ?
There are a lot of atypical antipsychotics such as risperadol, invega, you've tried seroquel, geodone, ziprexa (although weight gain and cost are a factor) and abilify (cost may be a factor). There are also the mood stabilizers such as lamotrigine and depakote that may be useful. Lamotrigine is an easy one because it doesn't need blood tests. Make sure you titrate up slowly as it can cause a rash that can be fatal (although that is very very very rare) and titrating up seems to prevent that.
I stopped the Clonzapem though and will not return to it because after a few weeks on it, I had huge memory issues when I was on it in combo with the above-mentioned drugs. Also, Seroquil was prescribed as a fourth. Again, with these 2 drugs added, I got 'tired' by 10pm each night, didn't have trouble falling asleep, and woke up alert at 6am in the morning which was ideal. That said, the other consequences, such as the memory of an infant, were way too devastating.
the problem is that what works for one person could do nothiing for others because we are all dfferent. I am on lamictal klonopin remeron and seroquel for niights I cant sleep or just have a bad day. But I for one cannot take any ssri's cause they make my bipolar worse throwing me iintorage attacks. I have to be on meds that keep me calm all day or i can lose control of myself and it is scary as hell.
as iladvocate says zyprexa can cause weight gain even on a normal diet which is frustrating as most of the meds have this side effect. i just started seroquel and am losing weight daily and am hoping to be soon back to normal. please don't panic, it sometimes takes a while to find the right combination of meds for each different person.
