Seroquel and klonopin

Common Questions and Answers about Seroquel and klonopin

seroquel

Ive been diagnosed with OCD with anxiety since 1997 and in that time since Ive been on luvox and klonopin and respidol. At one point I stopped taking all the meds ( i weaned off ) and I managed several months without them. I started to get the ocd back with the anxiety and I went back on luvox and klonopin and ive been fine since but Ive been having syptoms again and my doctor decided to start me on seroquel and in time to take me off luvox slowly...
I would want to know from the members of this forum about how many people are using Seroquel only as a sleeping aid in doses of 25 mg and 50 mg.All suggestions and answers are welcome.
Ok so I told my psychiatrist everything that came to my mind yesterday, so most of what's been troubling and how my episodes have been and how long they've been lasting and how severe they are or aren't. She said it sounded like I had rapid cycling, asked me how my low and high I was getting and just kept repeating that they get "severe". I thought I was getting better so surprise surprise for me! Anyways, she prescribed me Seroquel along with my usual Lithium and Gabapentin.
well after feeling terrible for months after getting clean i tired a couple anti depressants (cymbalta and efferor xr) both made me feel sick. so im trying seroquel now, day 2 and im calm for the first time in months. im also going to try prozac with the seroquel. hoepfuly a couple months of this combo will settle my unsettled brain and i can quit them both? anyone had any experience with seroquel?
my doctor gave me seroquel for sleep also, it does tend to make me groggy the next day,so she said for me to try to lower the dose to 25 mgs, it is a common side effect of seroquel and i guess if it effects you this way then it will always effect you this way, my doc told me this side effect doesnt go away with time. but if it helps you sleep while going through withdrawals than take advantage of the times where you CAN sleep...
Just wondering, what are the effects of Suboxone, Seroquel and Klonopin? He is on 12 mg of suboxone daily, and is prescribed 2 mg of Klonopin but he is abusing that already and taking about 20 mg of the klonopin. I am not overly worried, just because he was taking about 350 mg of valium a day before going on the sub a month ago, but of course there is some concern. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
i currently take klonopin .5mg for anxiety as well as serouquel 50 mg for sleep and prozac 40 mg. but i get the most relief from the klonopin( i.
I was on 8mg xanax and 4mg klonopin a day. An addiction specialist said that benzodiazepines effect your memory and balance, and thats all he said about them. They didn't sound too dangerous to me. Those pills almost killed me!!!
approx ) When he got onto the suboxone about 5 weeks ago, his libido came back with a vengeance. Now he's on 12 mg of sub, about 20 mg of klonopin, and 75 mg of seroquel. Can someone please tell me what this combination of drugs does to a person's sex drive? Suddenly, he seems completely uninterested, again. Can loss of libido happen that quickly after switching drugs and coming off of so much?
only sent home a rx for nortriptilyne 75 mg and klonopin .5 mg 2x daily. I'm worried sick about her having withdrawal symptoms or going manic. I have spoken to the hospital and they say it will be fine but my research says otherwise. I don't know what to do. Her regular doctor is on vacation till Monday. Any insight or help will be greatly appreciated.
Of course I never did illegal drugs but I did withdraw from Klonopin too fast and got a full body withdrawal symptom but I did it the wrong way and benzodiazepenes can be addictive but if I had done it the right way it wouldn't have happenened. Okay now back to Seroquel. If a person goes off Seroquel and they need an antipsychotic, after a while the psychosis will return. If its treating mood stabilization same thing. That's not "addiction". That's the symptoms returning.
I was put on Seroquel XR and could not tolerate it... I couldn't get up in the morning, driving was iffy and I was constantly tired throughout the day.. I'm back on a regular dose of 200mg/night (I take this drug specifically because it helps me sleep, otherwise I can't sleep). The suggestion of breaking out the dose throughout the day seems like it may be worth a try.....
1) Is it typical and appropriate to prescribe daily doses of Klonopin, Lamictal, Seroquel, AND Celexa? 2) If so, would it be appropriate for a patient who has never had a seizure, and has not been diagnosed with any psychosis? 3) Would the combination of these 4 drugs be likely to cause a side effect of interference with thinking, memory, and speech? A family member has been taking all 4 of these meds daily as prescribed this year.
I've been sleeping great lately with the addition of klonopin and seroquel. However the past two nights I have not slept well, I tried to take a nap today (which I usually do) and it failed. I tried taking an extra klonopin, but to not avail. I waited a good 20 minutes and sleep did not come. Usually on this medication I call fall asleep within 10 minutes. I'm freaking out and becoming paranoid about sleep, I fear it. When I don't sleep I feel sick and gross. Help?
I also am bipolar depressive and was on Effexor, which pooped, then Paxil and 600mg Seroquel. I went from 130 to 180 in 6 months and was having ongoing panic attacks. Day and night for an entire year. I'll tell you what made the panic attacks and depression go away. I quit antidepressants and sloooooly tapered off the seroquel. It was remarkable. The antidepressants were making me crazy. The awful anxiety slowly got better, although not all the way. I've always had it, I'll live with it.
I have previously taken at various different times, Celxa, Lexapro, Effexor, Cymbalta, Klonopin, ativan, wellbutrin and trazadone. I recently saw a new Dr and he put me on Seroquel xr 50 mg to be taken at night. He said to still use the klonopin as needed. I suffer from depression, anxiety, insommnia and he believes I am bipolar.
I have been off the Klonopin since 3/20/2009 and since 3/20 if have been taking Seroquel. I did not experience seizures since I stop Klonopin but after I stop Klonopin and switched to Seroquel there are nights I can't sleep... it's been like when I had a good sleep last night the next night I can't sleep. I am also experiencing muscle jerk and back pain. Do you think these are Klonopin withdrawals?
Hey there and welcome to the forum! What is motivating you to taper off Klonopin? We can't discuss taper schedules on this forum but you MUST taper from this medication to prevent possible seizures. Your doctor should be able to give you more direction here. In my work as a RN I have seen doctor's prescribe Valium or Tegratol to taper off Klonopin to prevent 'status epilepticus' (nonstop seizure). This would depend on the dose and length of use.
I am prescribed 150mg of zoloft and 3mg of klonopin a day. Some days I take 2mg some days I take the 3. I am 24 years old and I don think I want to be on the Klonopin my whole life. Luckily I have a psychiatrist who has slow tapering plans he has told me about. He isnt the drive by shrink we often hear about these days. The horror stories I read and hear and what i hear about Xanax scare me from starting the process b/c They are both in the benzo family.
I have been taking klonopin for only 1 1/2 weeks and have my husband and i have decieded to try to get pregnant in about 6 weeks to 2 months. what is the best way to taper so i do not have withdrawl symptoms. i mainly use it for insomnia.
Maybe klonopin or something a lot milder from seroquel. I only got placed on it because I had more than just anxiety and I tried several other meds first.
Hey Guys, Do any of you know the difference in these benzos, like which one is supposed to do what and what is stronger and less strong, etc? I've taken Ativan for anxiety as needed, and my doc mentioned switching to klonopin or xanax since the ativan doesnt work that great anymore...can anyone help?
Have doctors ruled out all other possible causes? This may help you have piece of mind and assurance that it is indeed from seroquel w/d. Did you taper, or cold turkey?
I have been on Seroquel for quite some time now and I have noticed that my memory has decreased immensely. I was wondering if this is a normal side effect from the Seroquel? Also, if I discontinue using Seroquel, will my memory return to normal?
he immediately put me back on Seroquel and gave me klonopin to help with the anxiety... it took about a week before I had some semblance to normal... it was horrible.
I have a borderline personality disorder, but I'm not bipolar (as far as I know) and I'm taking Seroquel (don't know why) and Lexapro (for anxiaty & depression). I've read Seroquel is for bipolar, maniac depression and schizofrenia but I'm not sure which of this three aplies in my case. I cut myself, have burned, starve, binge, make myself throw up, have anxiaty atacks and I am generally depressed.....
I am currently taking 1.5 mgs of Klonopin (.5mgs, three times a day) and my shrink and I are thinking about kicking over to Xanax XR. I would prefer not to be on a benzo, but I hate the Klonopin, it makes the depression worse. If I have found, by taking Xanax XR are a PRN, that it lifts my mood as well as calming me down. The Klonopin just drags me out. What are some of the pros and cons of making this switch?
Now I cant even sleep with 200mg of Seroquel and .75 of Klonopin. We did well going down to .75 but going down to .5..I think I should go back to .25 during the day and .75 at night. The problem is this is a community health system for people with no money or insurance. I have Medicaid so these doctors are against giving meds like klonopin. I live in Northern VA so if anyone knows a good Pysch that takes Anthem Health Keepers Plus HMO that would be great.
1.5 morning and night, along with a whole host of other tablets. Too many to name. I am a walking medicine chest. Getting hooked, well, happens, to longer term users. I would imagine they will take you off it once you make your switch over from one tablet to the other. In other words you won't be on it that long. So don't worry yourself. I've been hooked once before on xanax and no doubt some day I will have to come off this too. I will face that problem when the day arrives.
I take Klonopin and find that it only works for about 5 hours as well. Just thought I'd let u know.
