605458 tn?1539228808 Maybe I should have mentioned- I do all of those things. I am the 'ideal' bipolar patient when it comes to doing what needs to be done to keep my moods as steady as possible. So, what I am describing here is in spite of doing all of that. I eat right, I exercise every day, I take my meds, I make my appointments, I journal, I am educated on my disorder, I follow a strict sleep hygiene routine, I am in therapy, etc. I have been treated for my bipolar for more than 10 years.
Avatar f tn I have been taking Depakote and Seroquel Xr since October 2010 and I actually quite like them LOL after being on so many mood stabilisers and antipsychotics. In May the Seroquel was increased from 300mg to 400mg as I was becoming very irritable and unable to cope with small amounts of stress without flying into a rage and then being left with lots of tears of guilt about being so nasty. I had also noticed that my sleep was getting less and less as the Seroquel wasn't making me as drowsy.
Avatar n tn Hello. My name is Ed. I have Bipolar II. I was diagnosed in 2005 and stabilized with Lamictal and Abilify. However, I've never really gotten a handle on irritability. Although I've dealt with anxiety and depression, those have more or less been managed. But I still find myself having uncontrolled irritability, and I get crazy over things that wouldn't make a normal person crazy (chirping of car alarms, people whistling, other stupid stuff).
625892 tn?1245963714 m going to figure out a different way to deal with the irritability episodes. For awhile, I was on Lithobid as well as Lamictal and Seroquel. I have BP1.
1021784 tn?1306363011 It would be essential to note when agitation/irritability comes and goes and explain that to your psychiatrist and they could see what might be the cause and what could best treat it.
Avatar f tn I was on seroquel for 9 Years since a Young age and have been on and off it a few times but always resorted to going back on seroquel. I took zeldox for only 3 days before deciding to go back onto seroquel. I think seroquel is much more of a help. The zeldox did not help me sleep yet it made me feel as though I were stuck in a daze the whole next day and I could barely do anything. Seroquel can do that however seroquel does help you sleep at the same time.
Avatar f tn I have been on 100 mg of Seroquel a day for the past 4 weeks and 900 mg of lithium a day for the past 2 weeks and am finding my agitation and irritability greatly increased. My reactions are far more intense than before I started the meds. Has anyone experienced this with Seroquel?
Avatar f tn Hi I use when needed clonazepam for irritability, I have Bipolar Disorder and I am on Lithium and Seroquel also, and Prozac when depressed, clonazepam when either low or high as an extra weapon to curb my snappy head. problem i find if used too regularly when depressed is it can make me worse.
Avatar f tn I have been taking a number of medications since I turned 21 in 2008, the first being Prozac, Adderall, and Seroquel. I was only prescribed Seroquel for as long as my doctor wanted to "observe possible Bipolar symptoms".... after about 3 months he took me off Seroquel. After years of continued difficulty with bouts of depression, anger/irritability, sleep, I saw a new doctor in 2015 who prescribed Abilify 5mg along with Adderall.
459981 tn?1212193981 Though I have not taken it Seroquel is supposed to be good for managing the anger and irritability that often accompanies bipolar.
Avatar m tn SEROQUEL is approved to treat the depressive episodes and the acute manic episodes in bipolar disorder and to treat schizophrenia. SEROQUEL XR is a once daily tablet approved only to treat schizophrenia Antidepressants have increased the risk of suicidal thoughts and actions in some children, teenagers, and young adults.
Avatar f tn I went to my pdoc today bc I had a bad reaction to Cymbalta when my dose was lifted to 120mg. She said I may not be 'just depressed ' that with my years of irritability and alcoholism (I'm 21 years sober) that I may be bipolar 2. So I looked it up. Tons of new words. Hypomanic? I'm not the best one to ask if I meet criteria for any diagnosis bc I minimize everything. No I hate when people poke at me with their fingertip or pat my arm, or grab my arm.
1029865 tn?1252418538 5mg for anxiety as well as serouquel 50 mg for sleep and prozac 40 mg. but i get the most relief from the klonopin( i.
1965148 tn?1354978634 I am taking Depakote and Seroquel and those have helped my manic episodes. It helps me level out because I am so up a lot with a lot of energy. So these medicines are a great choice for me. look into it and see if this will help you too.
Avatar m tn I've got insomnia from taking Zeldox and have been seriously considering L-Tryptophan which has some mood enhancing/stabilizing effects and stimulates meletonin and seritonin production in the pineal gland in the brain necessary for sleep, it also comes in 5-DHT form which is the step after tryptophan converts to other things like niacin which is important for pallegra and potentially other mental illness's..
Avatar f tn I am in the process of tapering and want to know when the worst sets in how long I should take off work.? Also I am on seroquel, lexapro, and lamictal for bipolar so I'm hoping because I am those that the mental withdrawal might not be so bad. Is that just wishful thinking or possible? Please share your thoughts and experiences. Thanks!
Avatar n tn Like James, I like Seroquel and Lithium. Seroquel was awesome for helping me sleep and I only take a low dose now (200mg). I added Lamictal for a post-manic depression, and it worked okay, not great. But I have been stable for three years being on these three. I haven't been hospitalized and I've been able to work. This summer I added Prozac to help a depression after my dad's death (last year). I haven't had any severe side effects from these.
Avatar f tn diarrhea, nausea, irritability, paresthesias (hypersensitivity to light, touch and sound), etc. The Trazadone you are already taking for sleep can certainly be switched to a tricyclic, but I would like a psychiatrist to see the whole picture a decide to maybe put you on a totally different antidepressant. Occasionally low dose Seroquel at night is very useful for both depressive states and insomnia. Please consider my advise. I do believe you need a second opinion here. Good luck and stay well.
874521 tn?1424116797 As he stabilizes in that regard his psychiatrist can determine what medication is right for him and at what dose but Seroquel does have a good mood stabilization effect.
Avatar m tn I’ve been prescribed 80mg of Latuda for bipolar 2 depression, anxiety and irritability. Anyone have experience with this? I’m also on lamictal and klonopin. Any answers would be appreciated.
1691407 tn?1332712547 Irritability and grumpiness are side effects of the interferon. My husband had both. Forgetting or being irritable over irrational things could be a side effect, or it could be HE. Check with his Hepa.
Avatar n tn Nope. Just a sign that you're pregnant. I get that way occasionally too and I'm currently overdue, which reeeaaallly helps w the irritability part. Lol.
Avatar n tn Ok Mommys I have been extremely irritable and hormonal the last two days and I just don't feel good at all. No consistent contractions but I've heard increased irritability is sometimes a sign of labor coming soon. Anyone have experience with this?!?!
663901 tn?1232649671 Yes when I was on Seroquel I had to get an eye exam each year due to the extremely rare risk of cataracts but I saw an opthamologist anyway so it was no big deal. That is statisically rare and no reason to be concerned about Seroquel and a check up as I suggested is the best form of follow up. Seroquel is safe in this regard. In this case (you know I am always factual) your pharmacist was overstating the risk but a follow up visit is generally a good idea.
Avatar f tn Since seroquel can cause high BG you sure your diabetic and not as a result of seroquel raising your BG? Go to Google and put seroquel into the serch field.
