I used to take regular Seroquel with no sexual side effects. I was recently changed to Seroquel XR and the side effects are so different than regular Seroquel, and one of them is sexual side effects. Anyone else? The other new med I am on is Amitiza, which is for Irritable Bowel Syndrome and didn't have sexual side effects listed. I have been under a lot of new stress lately, but that has never caused this problem in the past.
Im also schizophrenic and taking a low dose of quetiapine (seroquel) 300 MG AT 9pm daily. My endocrinologist ordered 200units injection every 2 weeks injection but my psychiatrists says No dont do it. What should I do? Ive read so many opinions online - some MDs say take the testosterone and some MDs say dont take the testosterone!
I am been trying to figure out what's related to what, and what started when, and so forth and am going crazy! The doctors I have consulted have thus far either dismissed my issues or not been able to find anything. In mid May of this year I developed a right eye blinking and nose twitching to the right side. Around this same time I began to experience pain behind just my right eye and pressure and fullness in my right ear. An MRI showed nothing unusual.
I was diagnosed with depression in January 1999 and started taking Effexor XR. Eventually my dose was increased to 225mg, and I continued on this dose until recently. During these years my depression was under control, however my weight steadily increased and I gained about 45lbs. While I recognize that taking any medication impacts your body, I don't believe that Effexor was to blame for my weight gain. I have bad habits and I'm not as active as I used to be.
Hello Jim, I agree that Wellbutrin may be one of the more "energizing" of the AD's. I am a psychiatric social worker and have seen hundreds of clients (and some friends and family) take ADs. A number of them report that Wellbutrin makes them "edgy", "anxious" and even "panicky". Please be aware of these potential side effects if you go that route.
As soon as I get into a place I get so dizzy and my vision is all messed up. I get so hot and sweaty and my heart races. I want my life back. I still dont believe that its just anxiety causing all of this. I feel like I have something else wrong that the doctors cant find even though i have had bloodwork, mri, ekg, and they were all normal. I started taking .25mg of xanax once a day. still dont feel any better yet. So if anybody has any help please give it to me.
1 In BPD episodes of depression occur alternately with manic or hypomanic episodes during which the mood becomes euphoric and labile, the capacity for deriving pleasure increases, behaviours aimed at deriving pleasure increase, energy and psychomotor activity, libido and self-esteem become elevated. Thus, the same domains are implicated in depression and mania, although the characteristic disturbance in emotional behavior within these syndromes appears opposite with respect to emotional valance.
cats eat meat and i eat meat this doesn't mean i am a cat. At your age people have increased libido and being unsociable adds to its abundance. Don't feel guilty at all about that taking olanzapine won't cause you much harm except few more pounds in weight but may straighten out your mind and see things clearer. Depression though is the worst part in BP. My view is - echoing with paranoid_... - is that you are right now in the middle of a hypomania from what you describe.
I'm yet to talk to my psychiatrist about my insomnia last time she assumed was from thinking too much and prescribed a higher dose that gave me heart palpitations, increased anxiety irritability and didn't help my body clock go back to normal, and the drugs make me restless and irritable with a clenched jaw (otherwise I'm happy with Zeldox, clearer thinking more creative inspired, better coordination that rispiridone made me a zombie blunted emotions and everything including being one of the
i cant adjust with other medicine expect seroquel and seroquel i didnot find in my country other makes reactions. i aim how can i be without medicine. Does mental people can get rid of medicine,. ,my bro and other ppl are taking medicine from long and i didnot see anybody left medicine. That fears me and my future. My zoloft dose has been 1/2 a 50mg pill a day, which is very low, and I am almost done weaning myself off of it. I was put on a tiny dose of Seroquel (25mg) last fall to potentially treat the most painful thing I've ever experienced, what I describe as a cluster headache that I got in my right eye all of November, and that pain went away two days after having started the Seroquel, so I am hesitant to stop taking it.
I read that effexor was a medication that increased serrototin and neoriprimine( you know what I am trying to spell, right?) and that because of the increase in these two neurotransmitters, dopamine is bombarded and basically suffocated. When the brain has no dopamine, then it goes into weird states...producing mania like symptoms, over emotional symptoms, more depression, etc. This is why I get paranoid when I think about my dx.
If I recall I started the med end of Sept and just got to 200 the start of December, but if you have the patience, it's been a better drug then I've ever been on. I have a libido! I have more energy and focus, something that has been gone for 10+yrs.

May 2011, I guess my body became tolerant of the drug and stopped working. My PCP increased my dose and still didnt work. He tappered me off of Effexor and started me on Zoloft. I am now taking Zoloft 100 mg for about 3 weeks already and am having panic/anxiety attacks through it. I do take a half of .25 xanax but its hard cause I get so tired at work plus I have a family to take care of. Will I ever get better???

I was hospitalized once for weakness and dizziness resulting in me falling down. Some tests done include: MRI, CT scan, 3 thyroid tests, some tests on my heart, blood pressure and 5 vials of blood for other blood work. I went to see a neurologist as well. Nothing has shown up. My doctor has given me no other course of action or diagnosis. Blurred vision and head pressure seem very related. Both are better upon waking for about 5 minutes (longer if I do not stand up).

I also never could shake the post-partum depression after my 2nd child. I am also OCD, which causes even more problems. I was 124 lbs a year ago. Started Paxil and was up to 138 lbs. However, I switched to Lexapro about 6 months ago and, until after the holidays, was still at 138 (142 now). I had the idea to combine Wellbutrin with the Lexapro to help stop the weight gain and at least keep me where I am (I only register 8 lbs above my ideal weight on the BMI scale).
Please make yourself at home and snuggle down. It will be a bit bumpy, but worth it!
s I had back in 1968, (d) details of the developmental aspects of the various treatment regimens I have been given over the years, (e) the various psychiatric analyses and diagnoses, (f) the many years of dealing with suicidal thoughts and what some call a death wish, (g) experiences in and out of half a dozen hospitals, visits to unnumbered doctors’ clinics and listening to advice from well-meaning but usually misinformed or uninformed people than I care to recall, (h) adjusting to medications
The ssri's like paxil, zoloft, celexa and lexapro tend to negatively affect libido and ability to perform sexually in males and females. Wellbutrin tends to be neutral in regards to sexual issues, and tends to improve sexual drive.
I went to my GP complaning of no sense of smell, saw a surgeon and surgery was recomended, I was given a prescription for Prednisone, a steroid, this gave me some sense of smell, and here's the but, I had the operation and still could not smell, so more Prednisone, well the upshot is that the steroids have caused my Osteo-Necrosis, this is when the heads of the long bones die, so have now had core decompression on one hip and the other totally replaced. Oxycontin.
It's one of the few AD's that are attributed to weight loss and increased libido. Hope this helps.
(so to speak) and wasn't getting morning erections or having a libido. I had joint and muscle pains and all manner of skin changes occured (more so on my penis like you guy's - skin thinning, maybe a little dry at times). What had happened was a hormonal inbalance had set in and caused low testosterone (hypogonadism). Like you guy's my penis shrunk up really bad and my testicles were always very tight and didn't hang as normal.
I am on Tareg for blood pressure, from specialist....then my GP put me on Wellbutrin and klonopin .... which my specialist took me off and said take Xanax only with the Tareg. Any comments much appreciated.
