seroquel and eye problems

My 34 year old son is taking 150 mg imipramine, 6 (1mg) Clonozapam, and 400mg Seroquel, (down from 600 mg) per day. His side effects are weakness, irregular heartbeat and eye problems. One of his eyes has gotten so bad that he may have to get a cornea transplant. I cannot say for sure if the meds caused his eye problems, but he had perfect vision all during school and according to my research seroquel has been know to cause lens problems in the eyes.

Yes when I was on Seroquel I had to get an eye exam each year due to the extremely rare risk of cataracts but I saw an opthamologist anyway so it was no big deal. That is statisically rare and no reason to be concerned about Seroquel and a check up as I suggested is the best form of follow up. Seroquel is safe in this regard. In this case (you know I am always factual) your pharmacist was overstating the risk but a follow up visit is generally a good idea.

I have what my eye doctor called pigment mottling and may be an indication of future macular degeneration. Is there any evidence of Seroquel (Quetiapine) causing macular degeneration or any retinal problems? I do know there is evidence of it causing cataracts.

I believe seroquel caused my eye problems. My vision kept getting worse and worse on seroquel and i just found out i have a serious eye disease called KERATOCONUS. It is suppose to be genetic but no one in my family has this. So it has to be the seroquel. Since seroquel can cause high BG you sure your diabetic and not as a result of seroquel raising your BG? Go to Google and put seroquel into the serch field.

I am putting these 2 on a weighing scale - take seroquel and run the risk of getting diabetes, getting cataract and needing eye operation, etc. etc. Stop medication and run the risk of a relapse. Relapse seemed to me to be less dangerous than getting diabetes and eyesight problems, maybe even blindness. My mood disorder is not as serious as those about whom I read about in forums like this and other websites. I told my doctor.

He recommended "working around" my meds instead of going off them. Cataracts are relatively easier to treat then BP. I really llike Seroquel. How safe is 200 milligrams of seroquel while pregnant and nursing? Also, is it dangerous to cut the pills in half to take a lesser dose? Or should you cut or break the pills at all?

I used to take regular Seroquel with no sexual side effects. I was recently changed to Seroquel XR and the side effects are so different than regular Seroquel, and one of them is sexual side effects. Anyone else? The other new med I am on is Amitiza, which is for Irritable Bowel Syndrome and didn't have sexual side effects listed. I have been under a lot of new stress lately, but that has never caused this problem in the past.

Has anyone taken Seroquel and anti-biotics and are now experiencing heart problems? Do these issues subside, I stopped the seroquel when this happened?

Little hardness all have just some have a lot and some have less. Well some times before when my life was smooth by taking seroquel doctor use to worry but When I say this that happens doctor gets happy. The most amazing thing that i am disable to understand is that not only in australia, everywhere doctor changes medicine. One medicine makes smooth, and when they change it makes hard again. Is madness means diagonis? I was in hospital they said it's diagonised later.

A home health nurse visited for 2 weeks and stopped. She was given the Diltiazem, Lasix and Seroquel while in the hospital and has been on them about 2 months. Her doctor wants her to stay on the Seroquel indefinitely and hasn't really been concerned about monitoring her. I plan to take her to another doctor soon.

A new dr and many many months later, he is only now in a position to get back a part of his life, being psychotic, unemployed, and a danger to him self and others was not enough for his original dr to see seroquel as being the problem. Hi adel Seroquel does cause diabetes so you should get your sugars tested in a while and keep an eye on weight gain as well.I am 18 days away from stopping risdone and am feeling better.In 3 days time I will have moved to 0.5 mg from 1 mg and will take it at that dose for 14 days and stop it.

At the time the tics and ear/eye pain started I was at 12.5 mg of Seroquel. I had also just started taking 75 mg twice a day of Flecainide a week earlier. I am completely off the Seroquel now for months, and am still taking the Flecainide? Could my tics be related to the eye/ear pain? All of these attributed to one of these meds? Or do I have Tardive Dyskinesia from the Seroquel? I am worried that this is permanent, and it really scares me.

I take 25mg seroquel at night and 200mg zoloft a day also. I plan on going to FL for vacation in July and when I get back I have to start Hep C treatments, I am going to drink one last time. This is acompanied by a vague but consistent agitaion and slight derealization. Im on lamictal...i was given seroquel to sleep, but its a little much. A genetics doctor looked up the information and studies and showed me that the Seroquel does not cause birth defects. There were some children that had heart problems or respitory problems. The indepth ultrasounds showed her lungs fully developed, that she has been practicing breathing, and that she has no heart defects. I have a borderline personality disorder, but I'm not bipolar (as far as I know) and I'm taking Seroquel (don't know why) and Lexapro (for anxiaty & depression). I've read Seroquel is for bipolar, maniac depression and schizofrenia but I'm not sure which of this three aplies in my case. I cut myself, have burned, starve, binge, make myself throw up, have anxiaty atacks and I am generally depressed.....
