After the addition of seroquel I started having classical music in my head that I could hear when I was hospitalized I asked several people if they heard what I did and they did not. However when I came home from the hospital I didn't have anymore auditory hallucinations.
Seroquel helped me a lot with my ocd and gave me a lot of functioning ability. My adverse affects are sleep walking, night sweats and shaking hands until I eat something sweet.
this is not a general question about a headache tablet this drug is an anti psychotic and yes we too get pregnant and we must face things that most do not. of course i do not want to harm my baby however if i become unstable from seizing the taking of this medication this can harm my baby even more. would you say the same thing to a diabetic who was pregnant? i think not perhaps b4 jumping to banal generalizations u should some checking . have u been on this drug?
Don't quit the Seroquel abruptly -- taper off it. It's interesting you were put on Seroquel and are suffering insomnia -- the only way Valdoxan supposedly works is by increasing the effectiveness of melatonin, which regulates sleep cycles -- in other words, if it works at all for depression, and the evidence appears to be soft, it's by improving sleep.
Since seroquel has such a huge effect on sleep and auditory hallucinations are often associated with that? Did they get worse when she started this med? Chemical imbalance of the brain is also often associated and hopefully these meds would even this out. I'd keep at making sure meds are just right but does she also do talk therapy? Hello I take Seroquel XR and needed a side effect drug as I was getting sudden movements, twitches and tensing calves, my pdoc said that out of all the anti psychotics that Seroquel was one of the least likely to cause these side effects but I still got them. I have noticed when my dose has been lowered or when I forget to take it I feel a generalised ache all over my body.
I was just thinking, my husband started seroquel last week and has pretty much slept since then. As I already told you, he is bipolar. He no longer has anxiety and when he is awake, he is way more calmer than before.
Soooo, I started to search the web and found out that they give a lot of people going through w/d this drug. More herion users than anyone else....but they have found that it helps with opiod users as well.

i've been struggling with lortab'xanax and alcohol.i'm trying to taper each one .i really got stuck when i got down to 7 lortabs.some body gave me a 100 mg seroquel last night,went to sleep about 10 pm,woke up at 9:30 this morning.i haven't.felt this good in 2 years. i took my meds this morning and feel great still,also haven't drank as much.i don't know much about this drug,does anyone know whats going on here.
Yes I gained a fair amount of weight on Depakoate (another brand name for Epilim) and Seroquel. I do know I had less of a problem with weight gain with Lamictal and that among the current generation of antipsychotics, Abilify, Fanapt and Saphris are the least likely to cause weight gain but each person responds differently to each medication. Ask your psychiatrist about available options.

I have been reading a lot lately about the side effects of Seroquel. The one that concerns me the most is the diabetes. I am obese and diabetes runs in my family. I even have a brother that is insulin dependent. I am wondering if I should get off this drug? Does the diabetes continue even after the drug is discontinued? Is there another antipsychotic I could take that does not have this side effect?

The first question would be, do you actually have bipolar disorder? It's overdiagnosed. Did a psychiatrist or psychologist diagnose you or a regular doc? Because if that's not what you have, yes, Seroquel has as a side effect that it's very sedating, but when you take drugs for psychoses and you're not psychotic they can cause all kinds of odd side effects. And any drug that affects the brain can have odd effects on a particular individual.
