Seroquel and adhd

Common Questions and Answers about Seroquel and adhd

seroquel

Avatar n tn Sounds like a plan. You and your doctor may have to work on finding the best balance of medication. Try to be patient, but don't hesitate to let your doctor know if you have any concerns.
Avatar f tn Thank you. I am having severe panic attacks and see my doctor today. My Adderall for ADHD has a calming effect on me and helps with panic , concentration and sitting still. That seems to be the only thing taking away these horrible panic attacks, anxiety and psychosis. I have to split them in half throughout the day to help me.
Avatar n tn t able to seek help until I turned 9 years old, at that time I was diagnosed with OCD, ADHD Inattentive type, and Bipolar Disorder. We started me on very simple medications and over time we've tried quite a few. My diagnoses are as follows, Anxiety Disorder, Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder Inattentive Type, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Bipolar Affective Disorder, and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. I'm 71.5 inches tall and weigh 155-168 lbs, I'm white.
Avatar f tn His favorite word is no. And he is very rude and confrontational to adults. He is sleeping and eating better, but that is it. Dr has said he has oppositional defiant disorder adhd and a very strong possibility of bi polar disorder. I can not even send him to school with the way he is behaving. Has anyone experienced a spike in violent behavior while on Seroquel? Dr has not returned my numerous calls. I am desperate!!!!!!
Avatar f tn nope I can confirm Seroquel isn't causing Asperger or autism, it is indeed bipolar, ocd and adhd are the reasons why Seroquel was needed is what causes Asperger and autism. I am positive. if it isn't the cause then they are very similar neurological disorders that can be seen in the same gene pool. my low functioning bipolar brother has Asperger kids.
Avatar m tn What do you recommend I do to ask my doctor to increase dosages on neurontin and effexor xr for anxiety? Do you recommend to take Seroquel XR and other recommend medications to me sleep at night and to help ith severe anxiety attacks? I need something to knock me out.
Avatar m tn I talked with my doctor about it and I was told to cut up my pill and take only 25mg, then 50mg, etc., and was finally was able to work up to 300mg (and later transitioned to 400mg of the XR), but it was a slow process for me. I have only taken my Seroquel at night, because it would make me incredibly drowsy for the entire day if I took any in the AM. I also take Adderall XR for my ADHD (which is a stimulant) and it did not help with making me less drowsy.
Avatar m tn The perception that anti-depressants and anti-psycotics are overprescribed in the general population causes many people taking interferon to be reluctant to take these drugs when they may be needed. Seems like an appropriate topic for discussion to me. Rocker: Pooh had an eating disorder. Eeyore was chronically depressed and I guess Tigger had ADHD. We won't even get into Kanga's parenting skills. As for these being Disney characters, A.A. Milne is rolling over in his grave.
Avatar m tn I've been on allot of medications for bi-polar, including lithium (which gravely affected my stomache), but now I'm on lexapro, seroquel, and temazapan. The seroquel with the temazapan helps me to sleep well, and I don't go thru the tremendous effects of anxiety (expecially when you feel like you are losing your breath with no known reason to do so), but I have gained allot of weight, and I don't eat that much. I have read that seroquel is not all that good.

563541 tn?1257877567 Hi sweetheart! I do not know anything about the drug, but I wanted to let you know that you have been in my prayers and thoughts. You are such a sweetheart and I love you! I hope you are doing better every day!
Avatar m tn I'll try to make this brief and short. I don't know what's wrong with me anymore. My current Psychiatrist doesn't know what's wrong with me, so, I'll begin seeing a different Psychiatrist on Monday. And I'm so uncomfortable and unhappy that it's going to be very difficult to wait for Monday. My brain does not react to any type of antidepressant.
Avatar n tn She had been on Adderall for ADHD, went into a hypermanic event and was involuntarily committed for treatment. After her release she went back to her original Psychiatrist who again prescribed Adderall for her. Is Adderall ever used for bipoplar disorder. Everything I have read says no. How can I convince her Dr. to not prescribe it anymore? Please help us.
Avatar f tn o( I am conflicted and sad and don't know what to do.
Avatar f tn Lareina, I did say that medications are different for everyone. you may have read my post out of context somewhere. I want to give you a chance to explain why you're so upset. and if there's anything we can do for you. However, I want you to understand that we are trying to be supportive here. But I hope you're aware you are on the bipolar forum. The people who come here have bipolar disorder or a friend or family member that has bipolar disorder and they're looking for help.
Avatar f tn My daughter is mentally retarded, has autism, ADHD, and more recently has been diagnosed with Intermittent Explosive disorder. She is 10 and her level of MR is severe so she is unable to tell me how she feels. She has always been aggressive towards herself and others. She has been on risperidone for many years. Recently we have tried other drugs and her symptoms of aggression have increased. She is currently on Strattera, serequel, and hydroxizine (to help her sleep).
2211548 tn?1659383531 So... I'm not being treated for my ADHD, depression (currently in remission), eating disorder NOS, because I do not like medications/the way they make me feel...I have been being treated for my anxiety because it had got to an incapacitating point of anxiety/panic attacks and partial agoraphobia which would descend into depression eventually. So I've been treated for the past 4 years with different prescriptions. But what I currently take has done me the best.
Avatar f tn I've been watching the ADHD forum for three and a half years now, and haven't seen a post where the meds caused someone to go outside to have a BM. Have you noticed any other changes since he started these meds? Hopefully, you also consulted your doctor. Sometimes its not good to go cold turkey on certain meds. Finally, did your doctor explain to you why he put your son on both of the meds?
Avatar n tn Her denail began to fade, and she actually started taking the Abilify and Seroquel. Once she felt better, she got back on the Adderoll/Zoloft rollercoaster and off the Abilify and Serouquel. She is also bulemic and purges after every meal. She's been to the hospital 3x for extremely low potassium (sweats, palpitations, nasea and diziness). My question is how the Adderol and Zoloft interact with the Bipoar I condition and the bulemia. Thanks.
585414 tn?1288941302 Then the second dose has to be taken some time mid morning and can be slept off as well. But with many of these medications (a standard one was Seroquel, which I took in the past) if I take it too late in the day I feel the effect too much (cognitive confusion, motor restlessness) and if I take it too early it doesn't work and I am manic during the day. But as the specific medications are sedating both doses have to be slept off so it is hard to fix the time. Anyone have this issue?
663901 tn?1232649671 Yes when I was on Seroquel I had to get an eye exam each year due to the extremely rare risk of cataracts but I saw an opthamologist anyway so it was no big deal. That is statisically rare and no reason to be concerned about Seroquel and a check up as I suggested is the best form of follow up. Seroquel is safe in this regard. In this case (you know I am always factual) your pharmacist was overstating the risk but a follow up visit is generally a good idea.
Avatar f tn my 7 year was diagnosed with adhd at 5 he was daytrana for 2 yrs and was doing well.now hes in 1st grade in acontained class the last 5 months have been hell for me.hes been going through physical agressive behavior in school so bad that they are making me look at diffrent schools next week because he has been suspended due to his behavior. he just started concerta the last 5 days but iv been through about a handfull of different med including bipolar medication.
1725558 tn?1309737496 Bipolar and Adhd both cause a person to be unable to focus on things and potentially have a low frustration tolerance at times but bipolar causes specific mood changes. The two concerns could overlap as to how they effect a person. If you are diagnosed with adhd then you could discuss all this with your psychiatrist. If you have symptoms you believe might be part of adhd then it would be important to call them to the attention of your psychiatrist as they might or might not be.
