The only new med that I have been taking in the past 2 weeks is Ventolin HFA (Albuterol Sulfate Inhalation Aerosol) for my coughing after coming down with flue. I have also been eating lots of broccoli sprouts and home made fresh ginger tea mixed with little honey.

That means that this type of medicine should be used with caution and, in fact, maybe should not be used until it has been determined by a specialist that your rapid heart beat would not pose a serious risk, with the use of long-acting bronchodilator medicines such as Foradil® Aerolizer™ (formoterol fumarate inhalation powder) or Serevent® Inhalation Aerosol (salmeterol xinafoate).
You should also have a chest x-ray and spirometry, a simple breathing test with and without a bronchodilator.

Improvement with lying down suggests that a cause of your cough might be postnasal drip. Recently, I had a bad virus and got bronchitis, its haning around pretty good (since October 2008). I take Serevent (it works for me) but due to the virus I have developed several nodules throughout my lungs and having difficulty breathing. My doctor gave me Advair. I am concerned. I take Azor for high blood pressure, I also have been exposed to TB (1987 took INH and B6 six months) I also have lactose intolerance, I take enzyme for. Should I take this medicine?

I have been suffering from Pollen Allergy from almost 6 years. This started when I started to live in Islamabad. Here pollen allergy counts in spring are at very high from Paper Mulberry. Due to this I have a running nose and asthametic symptoms featuring suffocation and watered eyes. All this is reduced when i stay indoor.
Last night I ate no food after 5pm that I could react to and around 9 pm I used the blue puffer (Ventolin Salbutamol Sulpate Inhalation Aerosol) and and what was left of my red puffer (Fovent flutisacone propionate - corticosteroid) - AND I immediately broke out in hives and itching everywhere including on my tongue and I had trouble swollowing. I took an anti-histamine and the hives lasted about 90 minutes.
Flovent is a corticosteroid for inflammation and serevent is a long acting bronchodialator. Serevent is the drug that can interfere with heart rhythm.
When I started having symptoms in April, I stopped using Advair and now I only use Flovent. When I saw my pulmonologist I told him that I was only taking flovent (he had given me a prescription for both to use when my asthma got really bad.) He agreed with my decision.
I am using combivent(4x a day ) and serevent diskus 50mcg 2x for my
moderate severe copd, I have just started
Flovent 50mcg inhaler. Is this OK or should I
cutdown on the combivent ?
I try to work only with products and acrylic paints labeled “non toxic”. I used to prime with aerosol paint cans in my back yard, but gave this up, along with using other known toxins, a few years ago. But I still had maybe 20 old aerosol cans stored in the basement. I stored them in the house to maintain some temperature control, which I understand is important for safe storage. I do my brush painting in a room off the side of my basement.
