Serevent diskus cost

Common Questions and Answers about Serevent diskus cost

serevent

Avatar n tn Advair™ Diskus® (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) Inhalation Powder contains 2 medicines. The inhaled steroid Flovent® (fluticasone propionate) has a half life of around 5 hours, so it would be totally out of your system in a few days. The inhaled long-acting bronchodilator Serevent® (salmeterol) has a similar half life, so it would be totally out of your system after 5 days. When steroid side effects occur, they may linger for weeks or even months after the medicine has been stopped.
Avatar f tn While it is known that high doses, much higher than Advair™ Diskus® (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) Inhalation Powder 500/50, of long-acting bronchodilator medicines, such as the Serevent® (salmeterol) in Advair™ Diskus® (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) Inhalation Powder, can cause abnormal heart rhythms, this is rare.
Avatar n tn I am using combivent(4x a day ) and serevent diskus 50mcg 2x for my moderate severe copd, I have just started Flovent 50mcg inhaler. Is this OK or should I cutdown on the combivent ?
746512 tn?1388807580 I have tried advair (first medication we tried) but discontious its use because of cost (I didn't have prescription drug coverage and $120 every 2 weeks was a little too hard for a university student like me). It's not that my asthma is worse per se .... it's just that the cigraette smoke triggers it and I'm having a lot more exposure and thus triggers -> which is making me use the rescue inhaler more. Now that I'm reading my comment though ....
Avatar n tn I have an expired Advair Diskus. Has anyone used theirs past the expiration date? If so, how far past the date, and what was the result?
Avatar n tn Recently, I had a bad virus and got bronchitis, its haning around pretty good (since October 2008). I take Serevent (it works for me) but due to the virus I have developed several nodules throughout my lungs and having difficulty breathing. My doctor gave me Advair. I am concerned. I take Azor for high blood pressure, I also have been exposed to TB (1987 took INH and B6 six months) I also have lactose intolerance, I take enzyme for. Should I take this medicine?
Avatar f tn I usually use advair diskus for my asthma but I no longer have insurance and I can't affor to pay for it? Is there another medication I can use that is not so expensive?
312330 tn?1245176752 I was on it for over a year and then they switched my meds around to what they are currently because I was still having alot of problems with my symptoms...Flovent, serevent (essentially advair), singulair, zithromax and xopenex ( I am on several others but these are specifically for my asthmatic problems). Some people do very well on Theo...I hope that it works out for you.
Avatar n tn Yes, there are. Spiriva® HandiHaler® (tiotropium bromide inhalation powder) is one and Serevent® Inhalation Aerosol (salmeterol xinafoate) another. Each is a bronchodilator and capable of giving good relief of shortness of breath.
Avatar f tn I use the Advair Diskus 250/50 every 12 hours. My job requires that I talk. It has become difficult to talk with the use of the Diskus. If I stop using it a few days my voice comes back. My Doctor told me to gargle, which I do when I rinse my mouth. I have also tried using biotene moisturizing mouth spray as well as the cream. Nothing seems to help. My employer is always asking when this is going to change. I want my voice back. Do you have any suggestions.
Avatar f tn Flovent is a corticosteroid for inflammation and serevent is a long acting bronchodialator. Serevent is the drug that can interfere with heart rhythm. When I started having symptoms in April, I stopped using Advair and now I only use Flovent. When I saw my pulmonologist I told him that I was only taking flovent (he had given me a prescription for both to use when my asthma got really bad.) He agreed with my decision.
Avatar n tn However using a long-term control medicine, like Advair, Diskus (fluticasone/salmeterol), should help clear it away quicker. Sometimes this test is repeated after he has used a rescue inhaler like albuterol. When there is a 20% increase the test is positive for asthma. Advair Diskus (fluticasone/salmeterol) and albuterol as needed are recommended for the treatment for asthma.
Avatar m tn Will advair diskus 500/50 cause a false negative on a methacholine challenge ive been taking it for about a week now?
Avatar f tn If you do need a LABA as well, Serevent comes as a stand alone ICS. An LABA should always be used lin combinationwith ICS by asthmatics wheter in a combination med or as two stand alone meds. I hope that helps you. God bless.
Avatar m tn There are reliever inhalers which work for up to 12 hours after taking each dose. They include salmeterol (brand name Serevent) and formoterol (brand name Atimos). Please discuss this with your doctor am sure he will provide further assistance. Regards.
Avatar f tn It did not work even after trying it a year. I was then given Advair Diskus 250/50, after 2 1/2 months called the doctor because of using emergency inhaler Albuterol Sulfate 90mgc min 10 times a day. Albuterol created a vocal cord problem. Now been put on Flovent Diskus 100mgc and continue the Albuterol. Question, do the Flovent and Advair have the fluticasone propionate ingredient in common? Tonight will be my 1st use of the Flovent.
Avatar n tn It is also possible that some of the symptoms you describe, such as headache, shakes, racing heart, were caused by the other ingredient in Advair® HFA (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) called Serevent® (salmeterol). Many of the symptoms you describe occur with panic attacks and are relieved by leading a healthy life style. If that alone doesn't control the panic attacks, there is good, effective medicine for treatment of panic and you should request it from your doctor.
Avatar m tn What will happen if I continue to take Advair Diskus after it was left in a car (about 90-95 degrees) for 2-4 hours? Is it still safe?
Avatar n tn My pulmonary specialist just gave me an Advair Diskus and increased my Albuterol breathing treatments to 4-6 daily and my Combivent Inhaler every 4 hours. I almost died from an asthma attack last weekend. I had emergency heart surgery in June and have been having arrhythmias so I'm on a heart monitor for this month. I understand that Advair causes heart palpitations. Since I'm already having trouble with my heartbeat, I'm afraid to try the Advair.
Avatar n tn Ive been using Seretide Diskus 50mcg/100mcg for about 5mos. and I'm having experiencing side effects of it like upper respiratory upper respiratory tract infections, throat irritation, ear, nose, and throat infections, ear signs and symptoms, sinusitis, sore throat, bronchitis, coughing, muscle cramps or muscle spasms, pink eye, sleeping problems, increased sweating. And also i got allergies. what should i do? please help.
Avatar n tn This would include a long-acting bronchodilator, such as Serevent® Inhalation Aerosol (salmeterol xinafoate), Foradil® Aerolizer™ (formoterol fumarate inhalation powder) or Spiriva® HandiHaler® (tiotropium bromide inhalation powder) along with an inhaled steroid. Another potentially helpful, oral medicine is called theophylline. Your doctor may also want to prescribe this. You should have your blood oxygen level checked, in case it is low and you would need supplemental oxygen.
Avatar f tn she the prescribed prednisone for 5 days 2x a day. and she prescribed a stronger inhaler which is diskus (which i was not able to buy) and also she gave me antihistamine for my clogged nose and also prescribed a mucolytic. after taking the pred for 5 days my breathing got better my cough was better my phlegm was just plain white thick phlegm it's the best i have ever felt for the last 4 weeks.
Avatar f tn I have been cautious about creating any sort of quick, drastic, pressure change in my mouth but now, I wonder about the use of my Advair diskus. I take Advair on a regular basis for asthma and have refrained from using it in the 24 hours post-extraction because I figured the quick inhalation may dislodge the clots. Now, however, it has been two days post-extraction, and I wonder whether it is safe to use Advair without risk of dislodging the clots.
