Avatar f tn For years, I have suffered from sensitive teeth. The pain from cold objects literally drive me mad. One bad habit that I know is causing the sensitivity is my avid consumption of acidic drinks, which I am trying to give up. I have sought the services of a periodontist, who said that I have the beginning stages of periodontal disease.

Avatar n tn I have severe sensitive teeth - my teeth look fantastic under x ray but the outside of the teeth under the gums burns and stings all the time and sometimes electric shocks if I eat sugar or drink tea - I can't talk or eat properly - opening my mouth and air causes pain.

917763 tn?1311628896 t sleep some nights, and so the next day anytime I had done that clench teeth business, then my teeth would feel sensitive and I would always have a headache from it too. So maybe you are clenching your teeth and not always aware of doing it.
Avatar n tn Yes. Treatment is hard on my teeth. I believe the treatment changes the chemistry of my saliva. Plus, the constant dehydration during treatment makes the surface of my teeth less smooth and that causes more bacteria to stick to my teeth. I'm not sure whether or not the oral effects of treatment will be permanent.
Avatar n tn I was wondering if one is made to wear on your bottom teeth and not your top teeth (which sounds like those work better anyways) do they need to take impressions of both sets of teeth, or just the bottom? I think I can handle getting the bottom one done, but I'm not so sure I can handle getting the top done again. Any advise from those who have one of these or who have used one before would be greatly appreciated since I am just starting out on my journey! Thanks!
232921 tn?1224471661 Hello, Has anyone experienced having sore, tender, sensitive teeth after starting treatment with Peginron and rebetol. My teeth started to hurt after my first shot. I stopped treating 3 weeks ago . My teeth are sill sensitive.. Feels like I've been chewing aluminum foil. Anyone else?
Avatar n tn Also, try a bruxism splint as you may be clenching your teeth causing the jaw tightness and sensitive teeth. If they are wisdom teeth, take them out. If not, a second opinion would be good for peace of mind. If the bruxism splint stops the pain by day 5, you need a nightguard or dentist made bruxism splint, and may not need the extraction.
Avatar n tn Should they still hurt or have I not taken it easy enough on my teeth, I have just never had sensitive teeth before?
Avatar f tn My teeth werent ever more sensitive but my wisdom teeth did come in since ive been pregnant. it was horrible i was in so much pain.

Avatar f tn My teeth are very sensitive now and gums too. My mother and grandmother said to drink a lot of milk to get a lot of calcium because the baby ***** that right out of you along with everything else haha. My grandma even lost two back teeth because of being pregnant._.
Avatar f tn Hello, my problem is: the 4th right side upper tooth became quite sensitive (reaction to cold and hot) a while ago, so my dentist took an x ray and didn't see anything wrong with it. He also referred me to a dental surgeon, who also said he couldn't see anything wrong. Then the tooth got worse, so the dentist took the nerve out, did the root treatment, took another x ray which shown it was done properly and told me to come back 7 days later to get a permanent filling.
889592 tn?1262092244 I am on tx 6 wks now. Mine are the same way but always have had bleeding gums and sensitive teeth. What works best for me is sensidine toothpaste for sensitive teeth.
Avatar n tn I have recently been advised that I have a low b-12 count, and I have been grinding my teeth at night. My teeth are very sensitive right now. Are these things related, the b-12 count and the sensitive teeth? My teeth feel COLD all the time, but they do not ache like a cavity or tooth ache.
Avatar m tn I swear by the soda/peroxide treatment. My teeth are not hurting any longer. I think this treatment is hard on your teeth and gums. Good luck...sounds like the yogurt and Biotene toothpaste/mouthwash seemed to work well also.
Avatar m tn It is a good tooth paste for sensitive teeth, it takes a few times to start working. Also, I read where you can put on the sensitive teeth for a few minutes to help speed up the work it will do. Also rinsing your mouth with salt water is good. I also use a water pick with a bit of peroxide in the water.
Avatar n tn It now hurts a little to eat, but is still very bearable, and I feel like tooth #3 is sensitive as well. My dentist took x-rays today and said that everything appeared to be fine, and it may be my wisdom teeth bothering me, but I really feel like the pain is coming from the filled teeth and in the case of my right side, it is not adjacent to my wisdom tooth. Is my dentist missing something/ should I go to another dentist for a second opinion?
Avatar m tn I may have loosened a couple of teeth during that time. A toothpaste for sensitive teeth also helps, but not all are equal. The dental office next door gives me samples of Tom's natural kids toothpaste that I really like and is irritation free.. I carry a travel bottle of biotene in my purse just in case. Also if you haven't already try to stay away from the manual toothbrushes because they can really irritate the gum line on tx.
Avatar f tn As the dentist found nothing wrong with the tooth and gum that is good. I take it that he didn't say that you have sensitive teeth then? If you have receding gums you may find it is very sensitive to hot, cold and sweet food and drinks. If that is the case, you can purchase the toothpastes for sensitive teeth. It builds up over time and the sensitivity gets less with time.
