Common Questions and Answers about Sensitive teeth near gum

teeth

Avatar f tn I have some teeth that are brown near the gum line. I've never had a cavity but my gums seem to be receding in some areas and my teeth have become more sensitive to touch, heat and cold. Does brown teeth near the gum line usually signify calculus, or problems with the roots? Not sure if a periodontist is best if teeth are also involved.
Avatar m tn So after she poked around the gum which shot pain through me, the gums are now more sensitive than they were before, particularly cold water and ice cream and brushing teeth and listerine. My question is, is this normal? Should I still go the root canal specialist to get his opinion?
Avatar f tn I managed to get rid of a lot of the more severe stains, but before I could finish the bleaching process, I needed some crown work and the teeth were too sensitive to continue bleaching until they were capped with permanent crowns. Well, the trays are a bit loose now and the bleach washed out near the gumline. I can't afford to have new trays made so, after experimenting a bit, I've discovered I can seal trays at the gumline by plastering chewed gum over them.
Avatar f tn I have 2 teeth that have receding gum around that are so sensitive its so painful to brush my teeth that side, what do i do ? I already use sensitive toothpaste & mouthwash. Its driving me mad !
Avatar m tn These chips are getting bigger, going along the gum line on my back teeth, I also have the same chips near the gum line in my...um vampire like teeth, lol. My questions are, what is causing these chips and are those white areas/spots the reason for them? What exactly are the white areas? Are the chips easily fixable? About how much would it cost to fix them without insurance? (I'm unemployed) I'm REALLY super worried about this so any help at all would by VERY MUCH appreciated.

Avatar m tn Conventional gums hurt my sensitive teeth and gums, anyone know of a gum that is ok for sensitive teeth? Thank you kindly.
Avatar m tn Unfortunately since taking Pharma Nord BioActive Q10 Ubiquinol 100mg capsules my teeth have become very sensitive. I thought this supplement was supposed to help gum problems but it seems to make it worse?
Avatar n tn I have severe sensitive teeth - my teeth look fantastic under x ray but the outside of the teeth under the gums burns and stings all the time and sometimes electric shocks if I eat sugar or drink tea - I can't talk or eat properly - opening my mouth and air causes pain.
Avatar f tn Did the dentist say the gum looked healthy or not? Flossing in between the teeth to the gum line will help. Rinse your mouth with salty water after washing your teeth. Or use an antibacterial mouth wash. For bruxism (grinding of teeth), you can get a gum shield to protect your teeth from being worn away from grinding when you sleep. The dentist usually makes it for you to fit over your bottom teeth.
7649778 tn?1401294601 My gums got really swollen and sensitive during my last pregnanct. its normal to have gum and teeth problems during pregnancy but still see your dentist. My dentist says some woman have even had teeth fall out during pregnancy. So I would suggest having normal dental check ups during pregnancy.
Avatar m tn For about a month, I've been having a pain on only one part of my gums. The part in between two teeth hurts really bad, but that's the only area. It's really sensitive so I tried brushing my teeth gently but that hasn't changed anything. I floss regurarly and brush my teeth 3 times a day. Everytime I floss or brush though that part of my gums bleed. Anyone know what it is and what I can do for it?
Avatar n tn Lately (a week or so) I noticed that it has receded more and that when i floss ( this is hard to explain) there is now another line like my gum has split in between the teeth. You know the v shaped pink gum that comes down between each tooth. I can floss to the sides of this but also there is a cut/line up the middle. It does not hurt or bleed. I am scared that this line will cause part of the gum there to die or fall off.
Avatar f tn I have a tooth - my upper right lateral incisor - that has had multiple problems over the years. When it came in as a child, it had a small nick out of it near the gum line that later became a cavity and I had filled. Over the years (I'm 38), I had it filled a few times as the filling would wear out. The last time, there wasn't enough to have it filled, so my dentist put a crown on it - twice (the first one wasn't high enough into the gum so the lines were visible and wearing).
Avatar n tn I'm not sure what you mean by "temper" his mouth and teeth were "shaking". It sounds like your friend has very sensitive teeth due to gingival recession. This may be due to the periodontal condition of his teeth, toothbrush abrasion, or a myriad of other reasons. He should address these concerns with his dentist, there are procedures to reconcile these conditions.
232921 tn?1224471661 Hello, Has anyone experienced having sore, tender, sensitive teeth after starting treatment with Peginron and rebetol. My teeth started to hurt after my first shot. I stopped treating 3 weeks ago . My teeth are sill sensitive.. Feels like I've been chewing aluminum foil. Anyone else?
Avatar f tn A bunch of my back teeth are broke off to the gum and my front teeth look so awful. My babies has took all the calcium out of them.
Avatar n tn At this point I can not give you a definitive diagnosis. The good news is the teeth are not sensitive to percussion which tends to indicate that there is a problem with the root canal or any of the adjacent teeth.
Avatar n tn I just noticed that I have a cavity in last back molar that in near/on the gum line facing my cheek. I can see it. It is in a tooth that has had a filling in it for the past 15 years. It currently doesn't hurt and I wouldn't have noticed it if I hadn't gotten a piece of lettuce stuck between my teeth in the back. I have an appointment with my dentist but it isn't for two weeks unless they get a cancellation. My question is: how difficult is it to repair a cavity by the gumline?
Avatar f tn I agree with cheshchesh891 my husband neglected his teeth too, due to the fact that when he was younger her had a bad experience in a dentist and he never went near a dentist from a child. Now he is getting his teeth sorted through the hospital and yes they are very nice and help you to relax before they even go near you. They want you to trust them not be afraid of them.
Avatar m tn I have a dull pain in my gum between two lower, back teeth. When I floss between these two teeth, it is quite sensitive, and when I push with my finger on the back side between the two teeth, there is also some pain. It's gotten worse over the past 3-4 days. There doesn't seem to be anything else wrong. Any ideas on what this might be? Should I see a dentist? Thanks!
Avatar m tn the lower part (or the part near the teeth) of my gums are all dark whereas the rest are pink. I think this has occurred since my childhood and has remained the same since. Can you please advice on how to make them pink again.
1348686 tn?1310654243 Does anyone have tooth pain with their anxiety? I have this pain in my lower front teeth. Not so much the jaw but the teeth. They aren't sensitive to hot or cold. I do have TMJ and I sometimes get pain on the sides of my jaw as well as clicking but the pain in the lower front teeth is different. Any ideas???
Avatar n tn The only symptoms I currently have are...sensitive teeth (upper and lower right molars), sensitive gums...same location....and Jaw soreness mostly due to inflamation of glands under jaw midway between chin and ear. The glands seem to swell a bit then recede within 15 minutes or so. Arrrg. Very frustrating not being able to figure it out. Will try some peroxide mouthwash, and the antibiotics which were just prescribed and wait and see.
Avatar n tn Best case scenario........the nerves are badly bruised and need time to settle, especially seeing as there may be quite a bit of swelling due to the trauma and stitches. Worst case scenario......nerves have been severed in the gum. Was your inside gum split open or just your chin? You mentioned the bottom row of teeth are totally numb and yet they're "very very sensitive". Sensitive to what exactly? (Obviously sensitive to hardwood flooring.....I feel for you.......
Avatar m tn t pain.7 days ago I developed swollen gum on the left side(near wisdom teeth) and its still healing. Now I am not sure whether the gum caused the swollen node or the swollen node(if its a bad news) caused the gum to swell.I have appointment after 26 of November with an ENT.
Avatar n tn The tooth next to it is healthy but I noticed this morning there is a pocket (absess, I assume) at the top of the gum over the second tooth (near the crowned tooth). Could that be from the crown? The crown was placed over a year ago and was never seated straight (although the dentist said it was). My gum does bleed when I floss between those two teeth. Any advice? Thanks!
Avatar f tn I just got sinusitis two days after the crown was placed. The pressure from my sensitive gum seems to radiate through my entire head. It feels like the implant is to big. To the point were I'm thinking of having the implant removed and just getting a bridge, since I'll need crowns on the other two root canaled teeth anyway. I just can't stand getting anymore sinus infections and the implant feels so foreign. Also my periodontist said I may need another bone and gum graft$$.
