Avatar f tn For years, I have suffered from sensitive teeth. The pain from cold objects literally drive me mad. One bad habit that I know is causing the sensitivity is my avid consumption of acidic drinks, which I am trying to give up. I have sought the services of a periodontist, who said that I have the beginning stages of periodontal disease.

Avatar m tn I have recently been waking up with a stiff neck and headaches. I have been experiencing headaches for about a week now, I have no history of headaches and i'm worried that its something serious. I recently went to the hospital and had blood test and a Cat Scan performed and everything came out normal but i have not improved. Also my eyes feel tired, im sensible to light and my teeth hurt. Would the cat scan rule out anything life threatening such as a tumor or meningitis??
Avatar n tn Also, try a bruxism splint as you may be clenching your teeth causing the jaw tightness and sensitive teeth. If they are wisdom teeth, take them out. If not, a second opinion would be good for peace of mind. If the bruxism splint stops the pain by day 5, you need a nightguard or dentist made bruxism splint, and may not need the extraction.

Avatar n tn Hello, One evening while lying in bed I feel my lymph node near my right upper jaw swell. 2-3 days later the swelling reduces, but I still felt it being active. Also, I was having headaches and tension in the forehead area behind my eyes, so I went to the doctor where they did an ultrasound near the lymph node and saw it was slightly inflamed. They said I probably have a viral infection and prescribed me some anti-inflammatory drugs to take for 5 days.

Avatar f tn My boyfriend is 25 years old and he recently was brushing his teeth when he got a terrible pain in his head. He thought he was dying he said it hurt so badly. He passed out and woke up covered in sweat and began to throw up. Is this a migraine? The pain dulled a bit and then he slept for a while. It has happened two other times since the initial problem, neither were as sever but both caused him to almost be sick and be in tremendous pain. I am worried it is something serious.
5438523 tn?1367969079 Do you feel nauseous during these headaches? Sensitive to light and sound? Dizzy? You need a combination of these symptoms to have it classified as a migraine (look at the wikipedia article for the full criteria listing). Migraines really suck, but they are generally not dangerous. If you have a family history of migraine, it's also more likely that migraines are what you have. It helps to take some ibuprofen right when you start having pain.

Avatar n tn I'm having a similar issue. I had a slight pain in my top, back tooth on the left so I checked it out and I thought I saw a cavity, so went to the dentist the very next day. He said it was a cavity and that the same tooth on the right had one too. He then suggested that the 2 teeth in front of those were very likely going to develop cavities in the next 6 months, so to save me having to go back he should do it at the same time.
