Common Questions and Answers about Sensitive teeth after pregnancy

teeth

Yeah that's no fun. I'm on my third pregnancy and have never had sensitive teeth like this before. I thought something was wrong with me. I've been to the dentist multiple times. I had cavities with my other two. I've been using sensodyne so hopefully that helps. Luckily I only have 2 months left.

My teeth are very sensitive now and gums too. My mother and grandmother said to drink a lot of milk to get a lot of calcium because the baby ***** that right out of you along with everything else haha. My grandma even lost two back teeth because of being pregnant._.
It seemed to start in 1988/9 with my last pregnancy. I am on tx and decay is still happening along with teeth fractures(probably from so much ammalgam interfering with the nutritional flow to the enamel). Interferon can cause osteopenia, so it is possible my own interferon and now the artificial inf is not helping my teeth. Then you have depression from feeling ill, before and during tx, and hygiene can suffer some days also, but it can't explain the speed of decay. It is most troublesome.
If you haven't been to the dentist for a while, I'd suggest you go in and get your teeth checked out. Teeth do seem to get weaker after pregnancies (even though the chances are much slimmer if you took your prenatals and were good with your hygiene throught the pregnancy). Good luck.
So I heard that your gums get very sensitive during pregnancy. Mine just in this one area hurts really bad. Is there anything I can do to help them? I brush twice a day and floss once a day. i went to the dentist about 3 months ago for a cleaning and everything was fine...
Toothaches and teeth weakening in general since pregnancy? im 17weeks now.
However to confirm the status of pregnancy, I suggest you to test for pregnancy by a highly sensitive pregnancy test 10 days post ovulation with a sensitive ( 20 - 25 mIU ) pregnancy test. Also then I would suggest you to get your serum HCG levels estimated since this is more specific than urine for pregnancy tests. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
My gums are sensative when I brush but my teeth don't hurt. How well are you sleeping at night? Sometimes if you are not sleeping well or stressed you could be grinding your teeth at night. That can make your teeth hurt and feel real sore.
This is usually most comment when higher-concentration bleach is used. For sensitive teeth, some dentists recommend a toothpaste containing potassium nitrate. * Gum irritation: People who use peroxide whiteners may experience some degree of gum irritation resulting from the bleach concentration or from contact with the whitening trays. These irritations typically lasts for a few days, subsiding after bleaching has stopped or the peroxide concentration lowered.
But every time I brush my teeth, I get nauseous. I've tried switching toothpastes to see if it's the flavor, but it's not. It seems to be just having the foam in my mouth, it makes me feel like I will puke. Anyone else have this issue?
Hi Dac, Lost all my top teeth at 23, bottom at 35. Teeth broke off, and had to have lots of dental work previous to that but it never lasted, my body rejected the root canals, so have worn denture for years. I do believe it was thyroid releated, sas I had taken excelent care of them and had alot o dental work.
is it normal to get a negative pregnancy test 24 hours after embryo transfer?
Hey ladies! I'm having an issue with my teeth. I read that pregnancy really takes a toll on your teeth but my teeth have always been very strong & super white without teeth whiteners but they look kinda like a dull now & more of a stained look to them. Has Anybody else experienced any major teeth changes & if so what were they & what did u do about it? I scheduled a dentist appointment but until then any advice or info. on this problem? Thank you ladies!!!
So I'm 15 weeks pregnant and I'm well over my morning sickness but a couple of times I've threw up right after brushing my teeth, and its like not just once but everything in my stomch until I can't puke anymore. Has anyone else delt with this?
Pregnancy is hard on teeth!
My gums were horrible during the first part of my pregnancy, and my teeth always felt dirty, even after brushing. Make sure you're getting plenty of Vitamin C, D,and calcium in your diet. I heard somewhere that your body will pull minerals from your teeth if you are deficient.
it usually occurs during pregnancy and is completely cured after you complete your term..
With my first dd I had nothing but missed peroid but I didnt even get that until after 3 mos. I started the cravings after my peroid stopped. No morning sickness nothing. With the one I m.c I was terrible I felt like I had to pee all of the time, and was crampy, bloated, nauses, everything you can think of. So everyone is different. I hope you are pg!!
-\ I know I have to go to the dentist, but my insurance doesn't cover it and the closest pregnant woman dentist free thing is 8 hours away. So I bought the expensive mouth wash and the pricey tooth paste. It doesn't hurt nor does it bother me, just looks ugly. Anyone else have this problem?
Go straight to the dentist you sound like you have a severe gum infection, such as piareeher, sorry about spelling, anyway it needs treating straight away before all your teeth get infected by the gums
My doctor said it was okay to have it done but since this is my first pregnancy I decided to deal with the pain. I took all the meds and after that it just suddenlly went away. I am now 30wks and just soon after my little boy is born I am going back to the dentist and I hate the dentist also but after having the pain I've had with my tooth I'd do anything. I was like you I also looked on the net for home remedies.

i also am taking 100 mg of zoloft and have xanax for the anxiety attacks which helps when the self soothing does not. but like for instance, today i have sensitive teeth, just today they are randomly sore and automatically i am thinking it must be because i am pregnant :( i am also having alot of back paing and automatically i think its because i must be pregnant. i just wish i could really really force myself to know that i am not. i want to be free from this.
My first pregnancy ended in miscarrage after 3 months, i was very sick with that pregnancy, I could barely move half of the time. I'm currently 27 weeks pregnant this would be considered my second pregnancy, my symptons this time around are much much different. My breasts are very sensitive and my back is bothering me, but i'm not sick at all, or in any sort of pain. So the two pregancies were like night and day.
i needed a root canal during my pregnancy. They wouldnt do it at all!!My teeth were super sensitive then, they killed throughout my entire pregnancy. check with you dr and dentist....
I had been infertile for 5 years prior to the pregnancy, and then, suddenly, our miracle happened after I'd given up all hope of ever becomming a mommy. Don't give up!
