My vet said that my male dog which has not been neutered should take Vitamin D to keep him from having seizures. Is this dangerous?
Hi,I have a question about this medication used for seizures and other things,,,,,,,,,,i amon 250 mg depakote er at night for mood control and gaba diffency i misssed my dose last night and wonder if i might have a seizure i have no seizure disorder and have never had a seizure but someone told me that if u miss a dose u might have aseixure i have been on this med for only 8 days,,,,,i have very bad anxiety and some depression and it seems like this medications takes away all my emotions any
I read vitamin A is bad for pregnancy. Is that true??
I take Magnesium, Calcium, Vitamin D, Folic Acid, and Vitamin B6 on a daily basis. I eat only foods that are healthy for me. Also keep in mind that the older you get past 30 try eating more vegetables and grains in your diet and less meat, unless it is fish, chick or fish.
Taking the Prilossec might have been a one time occurance and it may never happen agaiin. What you can do for yourself is keep a small diary and wrtie down every time you experience Anxiety and/or seizure like symptoms.
My Husband Started having Gelastic Seizures at age 30 (about 5 months ago). He has no history of seizures of any kind. These seizures began with a two month period of both absence seizures and gelastic seizures and has progressed to multiple gelastic seizures daily, usually at the end of the day and during his sleep. We are very limited financially and have no health insurance so we have not yet been able to afford his prescribed medication.
Had to go to Doctor`s Care today, due to a miserable UTI. I am a myoclonic seizure patient and due to this UTI issue Am on no sleep. Not good for seizure condition. Just need a neurologist`s expert opinion as to whether or not it is alright to take Augmentin with my myoclonic seizure condition.

Get your kidney function, parathyroid gland function and adrenal function tests done because these affect the electrolyte balance in the body. Stress, alcohol, and fatigue all cause similar symptoms.

Sounds a little like a seizure spell. I'm assuming you have gone to a neurologist, he should try giving you an anti-seizure medicine to help this. Also, any bloodwork that was done on you should have included vitamin, mineral, and sugar levels. There was another thread at this forum about a year or so ago on Deja Vu, so if you'll do a search here of that, a few posts should come up about folks who describe their symptoms that way too.
I have been diagnosed with a seizure disorder and am taking 200 mg of Topomax per day. My recent blood test have shown a low B-6 level so I started taking supplements. Also, I am waiting for the results of an overnight eeg. Is there anything that can be done to control these twitchings? I really need to get a good night's rest soon.

Dogs like yours already having seizures at intervals of 30 days or less are generally started on phenobarbital, as your vet suggested. I agree with your vet that starting this makes sense.
I had a total hysterectomy in 2007. Due to a seizure issue, I was not able to take HRT. I used a menopause formula from Vitamin World. I still had to deal with some hot flashes, etc. but, overall, I was very happy with how it worked for me.
I started tapering and found the tramadol makes me feel like I have a seizure when I stop taking taking it. I started cutting my dose by 1/2 pill every 2-3 days. Since then, every somewhat elevated temperature will result in a seizure. We have been to the emergency a few times and were always told that he is in fact experiencing febrile seizures which are of no concern. The seizures never last longer than a few minutes, at most. One ER doctor did however order an EEG since on one occasion he's had multiple seizures (10 short seizures in 2 hours). The EEG showed "activity" on one side of the brain (right temple).

My son was on ADD and ADHD drugs and it was after him being on them that he started to have seizures wich is a side effect of the two drugs he had tried. I know give him Vitamin B6 a children Multivitamin and Omega 3-6-9 and Vitamin B12 these are very good for the brain and have helped him with his learning and he also has grest teachers that come to out home to teach him for 2 hours after they get out of teaching at the school.
