Avatar f tn Recently one of my friends told me something that happened to him this weekend. He told me that he was seated for a long period of time, and then when he tried to stand up he got very light headed and the room started to spin. Before he knew it, his legs gave up from beneath him and he started shaking. He told me that the shaking was like he was being electrocuted... I was wondering if my friend sustained a heart attack, seizure, or if he just had a panic-like attack.
Avatar n tn I dont know what happened. Did i hurt him when i lift him? did he has a heart attack? are heart attack supposed to be that painful? did he have a seizure? was he conscious? was he screaming of pain? Thanks... i just need to know what happened. The vet said he was old and probably had a heart attack... but i am not sure.
Avatar f tn You need to investigate these symptoms for as to whether this is a syncope, vasovagal attack , transient ischemic attack, dehydration, anemia, hypoglycemic episodes, hypothyroidism, hypo or hypertension, heart rhythm abnormalities etc. The second episode appears to be seizure related since there is an aura and a post ictal phase of confusion and tonic clonic involuntary limb movement including heavy head hitting against the wall.
Avatar m tn ve only had a panic attack once I thought it was a heart attack. Had my father take me straight to the hospital. The symptoms progressively got worse on the way there, my arms went from tingling to numb. They told me it was just a panic attack and I should follow up with my doctor for further testing. Now, last night I had the hardest time getting to sleep. I felt the sensation throughout my body again and I told myself to relax and ignore it.
1091003 tn?1257710173 Does anybody else ever feel this with anxiety? I noticed seizure symptoms are the same as anxiety attack symptoms so this scares me so so much! Its driving me nuts and Im mostly lightheaded after talking for a long period of time or walking. I am back to exercising but feel like **** afterwards and have very low blood pressure after exercise. Any suggestions? I am taking Paxil, and xanax.
Avatar n tn The temporary lack of oxygen to your brain can cause some seizure activity. That may explain your symptoms after the event. There are other possible explanations, so you should.share this info with your primary care doctor. My explantion is not a diagnosis. Best of luck to you. Good luck.
Avatar n tn My guess (and this is only a guess) would be massive heart attack or stroke. Either would stop blood flow to the brain and could cause the seizure-type symptoms. I've seen people have strokes and heart attacks and it sounds very similar to what your dog experienced. My very sincere condolences to you.
Avatar n tn I am at times able to sense the attack coming with high heart beat rate strange sensation. I have been showing to a Neurologist for a month now and have been given torleva 500 twice daily. The attack has become milder but still persists once or twice a day. Somebody please help me understand whats wrong with me. At times I also feel a little dizzy if i look at the extreme right from my eyes without turning the head. I feel I will get stuck in that position & just continue looking right.
Avatar n tn Yes, and they may be more likely to occur during a panic attack if the symptoms of the panic attack (eg. stress) are one of your triggers for a seizure.

Avatar f tn Just wondering if anyone else ever feel like they are having a stroke, seizure or a heart attack while trying to go to sleep? You wake up and check your pulse or go to the bath room and don't have that feeling. Then you go back to bed and it wakes you up again. Now you really want to go to the emergency room or wake up your spouse but feel as though it may be a false alarm....but scared to go back to sleep. You may be so convinced that you want to call the ambulance.
716924 tn?1235869479 It all starts with either a flutter in my heart or a dizzy feeling. I then wonder what the hell that was and from there my thoughts go crazy and i have a full blown panic attack. I usually feel this huge rush go over my entire body. I'm guessing that's the adrenaline. My lips tingle. My hands and feet usually tingle. Sometimes my arms feel really stiff or like jelly. Palms sweat. I feel like I'm going to poop all of my insides out. I'm not breathing right.
Avatar f tn If these symptoms appeared in my patient, I would consider seizure and pseudo-seizure (seizure-like activity brought on by stress/anxiety). I would send my patient for a EEG to screen for seizure activity-- this are usually done in the hospital but some patients actually have a type done where they carry the testing box around with them.
Avatar m tn Is it normal for a hypertensive person to suddenly lose sleep and wake up with heart palpitations, shortness of breath, feeling hot and in panic condition? The feelings subside a few minutes after taking cold water or cold bath or emptying the bowels.

Avatar n tn Does this sound like heart attack symptoms? I have been put on a prescription for beta blocker and given nitro spray, had an ecg, chest xray and blood tests but still waiting for results.
Avatar n tn My mother died at age 66 of a massive heart attack. Is it possible that this episode is a symptom of heart disease or a pre curser to a heart attack? I should also mention that during rest I felt fine. When I was up moving around or moving my left arm is when I felt the pain. Also during the beginning of the attack it was very hard to take a deep breath. This would make the pain worse. If this was a heart attack or a symptom of one what steps should I take now that I am feeling ok?
Avatar f tn in the period immediately after a seizure attack, it could be the post ictal phase or confusion. Consult your neurologist for your evaluation and change of anti epileptic medication. Hope this helps. Take care.

Avatar m tn t know nothing til the next morning when the attack woke me up and the attack didnt happened cause of that, it just happened for no reason. then the whole day heart racing and sweaty palms.
Avatar n tn Especially if you could make yourself just breathe through the second attack, the symptoms may be more psychosomatic rather than pathological.
Avatar f tn I used to work for a vet. This sounds like a heart-attack to me. A seizure would not have been instantaneous death like that. But when the heart stops... I'm so sorry fo the loss of your furbaby.
Avatar m tn Now, what triggers my panic attacks is that when I was in class a girl would have seizures and that scared me so when I had my first panic attack I thought I was going to have a seizure. I then had a CT scan about 2 weeks ago and they said it was normal. I then talked with my councellor and she said I wouldn't have a seizure because the ct scan was normal. I just need reassurance because I can't go throughout a day without thinking of it and then I would have a panic attack.
