seizure

Avatar n tn I do not think that this is a Parkinson's symptom. Could it be due to some medication that you are on? It is not a seizure of any sort.
Avatar m tn Hi, I'm a historian sorry if this is kind of an odd question. I've come across an account by a Spanish priest describing a 'miracle' that happened in 1600's in one of the colonial possessions near the equator. He described a woman losing her eyesight towards her middle ages, then years later regaining partial sight again. He described her regained sight this time though as something more adept or better when it is dark or at night time.
Avatar m tn Sorry to read of your loss and the loss of a buddy to your remaining dog - this is one of the issues that troubles me when we talk about getting our dog a "brother or sister". The one experience I have with a stroke, diagnosed as a spinal stroke, was there was remaining paralysis. In this case it was a 10 year old large Golden Retriever. We got him back on his feet (rear was the problem and is a weak spot anyway in Goldens) using water therapy.
Avatar f tn It last from 9 months to over 2 years. It starts with a change of seizure medication or change in dosage of the same medication. One time it was stared with ativan and I now know the bad information on withdrawal from that drug. I was wondering if anyone knows of any information on long term use of epilepsy drugs like tegretol and any possible links to my problems.
Avatar n tn 3 weeks ago, after a prolonged seizure, my 16-month old daughter came into a deep sedation status. After the anti-seizure medications were reduced or even stopped, she did not wake up. As of today, she is still in a deep sedation (or light coma) mode. She is responding to pain by withdrawing her legs or arms, and her eyes do move from side to side when they are open. However, she has no reaction to stimulus such as light, sound, moving objects, etc.
Avatar n tn I have been diagnosed After seven years of seeing doctors for a chronic itch on my arms, I have been diagnosed with brachial radial sysdrom. What will help this awful itch?
536029 tn?1213648108 This may have to be treated with a combination of anti-seizure drugs. These anti-seizure medications may also address the burning feeling (neuropathic in origin) and help minimize them. If there are any one in the site with similar symptoms, I request that they share their experiences with our friend here. Wishing you all the best. Regards and God bless.
Avatar f tn Mycoclonic seizures cause sudden brief shock like jerks of a muscle or a group of muscles. You seizure may be of the myoclonic type. They may even cause an object in hand to drop or a person to fall if he is standing. A significant change in the usual seizure pattern like in terms of seizure type, seizure length, or associated symptoms needs immediate medical attention. A changing pattern of seizures may indicate ineffective control of seizures or ineffectivity of the anticonvulsants.
5126953 tn?1363983843 His head went down and his eyes rolled to the back of his head. He let out a groan and his arms straightened and fists clenched. His arms and head starting flailing. After about 2 minutes he was returning to his senses feeling very nauseous and dizzy. Prior to this evening he has been seen by a neurologist and all the scans and tests that he has been given have come back normal and they said unless it happened it front of them they didn’t know what to say.
Avatar f tn Epilepsy is a recurrent seizure disorder caused by abnormal electrical discharges from brain cells, often in the cerebral cortex. A seizure disorder affects about 0.5% of the population. A single seizure does not mean that someone has epilepsy. I hope this helps. Take care and keep us posted.
Avatar n tn I remember the last part of my dream, which was me seeing someone fall out of bed having a seizure through their window, and (confirmed by my girlfriend) I yelled out (which is when I woke up). I don't think I could move, and my arms were sticking up into the air at my elbows, then I think I shook more, at least that's what it felt like. I had been sleep deprived (less than 5 hours/night) for the last two nights.
572072 tn?1217126880 m sorry to learn what happened. Your son may be really be having a seizure disorder of unknown etiology. Most seizure disorders have indeed no identifiable cause, and they are just classified according to presentation, and the treatment is tailored according to these classifications as well. Your son may have different kinds of seizures, but a thorough search for a cause should be sought (like EEG, MRI, etc).
494976 tn?1302710701 When I came to I was disorientated and had been incontinent, the Nurse said I had been having jerking movements in my arms and she thought it may have been a seizure. I was worn out for the rest of the day. Did not have the LP. In the past I have passed out and been incontinent. Once there was no apparent reason but that was years ago when I was 18. I am now 30. I don't know If there were any jerking movements on these but will look into it and ask the people who were around at the time.

Avatar n tn Is this a precursor of something to come or could it be a seizure or anxiety? I have felt similar to this about a couple months ago...
Avatar n tn from what he says, I was leaning forward with my head resting on the bed (which is quite tall) and all of a sudden I let out a scream, threw my arms up and went straight backwards and down very hard. My whole body began to shake, my lips turned blue and my face very pale, and my teeth were clenched together. He also said that it sounded like I wasn't getting enough air so he tried to pry my teeth apart but couldn't.
1241349 tn?1380982785 my 3 year old has these spasms of the face, hands and arms, he moves his hands in a tight round motion. he has his mouth open and he makes a wierd sound.
Avatar n tn My 9 yr old was diagnosed with seizure disorder last week after stress EEG showed multiple abnormal firings in left parietal lobe. MD states that it is most definitely seizure activity/disorder. His symptoms are so vague, though, that we often don't know when he is having a seizure, or what to do. We only seem to know for sure that he had a seizure after the fact, because he sleeps 3-7 hours.
439601 tn?1357860886 Now there are three different kinds of seizures, the type of seizure a person has depends on a variety of things, such as the part of the brain affected. I get an aura before I have a seizure, not sure if everybody has that, but I get a strange sensation, some people smell an order or feel a tingling.
309199 tn?1237500652 During this time I did experience asymmetrical jerking of my arms and legs, and I had really bad clenching of teeth and experienced a crushing migraine. This migraine intensified through-out the night and in the morning it was also very bad. I’ve had several shorter ones similar to this since then. I’ve also had a few where, all of a sudden I’ve missed a minute or two in time, and don’t remember what just happened.
1086730 tn?1258451978 t Identify for about 2 years now and kind of concerned, although to me it seems like a minor seizure but I was hoping you guys/girls could help me out. It always happens when I first start to stand up, my left leg feels a little tingling and then it shoots up to my arms and head.
Avatar m tn My roommate suffers from severe anxiety and has had 2 seizure related to that so I can say that I have heard of it. He is on anti-anxiety medicine and he says that unless he runs out early it keeps him from having the seizures.
