Avatar n tn I too am not a doctor, but have had 18 years experience with my daughters seizures. My daughter was diagnosed with infantile spasms with intractable myoclonic seizures ( uncontrolled) I am not in Any way saying this is what's going on with your little one, what you describe is what I see in my daughter. Her seizures are all in her eyes now but when younger involved arms, or shoulders, or legs. Her eyes roll up, flutter ( many quick rapid blinks ) also going to the left.

Avatar f tn I took a CAT SCAN which was normal, and a EEG which was also normal, and these would of been done in 2008 November. I have Grand Mal seizures, and have been told that during my seizure episode that i get violent with the thrashing. I was managed on Dilantin 300mg a day which made me increasingly sleepy, then i was placed on Valproic ACidd 4 times a day. Now am managed on Tegretol 200mg 3 times a day.
Avatar m tn Dizzy and vomiting? Have you had a cold recently that would have progressed into an ear infection? If not, could it be vertigo? I would probably go to the doctor and have it checked out, because you don't want to take pain relievers or antibiotics if they aren't going to help. If it is vertigo, your doctor may suggest Meclazine, which is an over the counter medication that helps with dizziness.

Avatar f tn The pain appears to get worse following seizure events. He has be having a run of CPS recently and the pain is becomming intollerable for him. No one can tell us why he is having so much pain or what is causing it therefore nothing is done for it. I have tried drugs like brufen and panadol and panadeine. He claims these do nothing and refuses to take them for that reason. I need to stop his pain somehow.
1066198 tn?1333309028 I sure hope maybe we can start weaning her off and see if she would be seizure-free. She also has autism and is 22 years old. I'm hilighting it again to make it a bit fuller.
Avatar f tn How is Craig holding up? Anything new? Have you spoken to Dr. M. recently? I haven't really looked at the forum well. So tired. Went to sleep at 7:30 last night. Made dinner and went to bed. Thank goodness for older children! My evoked potentials are now scheduled for next Tuesday. The tech is going to miss half her lunch hour, because she felt badly about messing up the schedule. I hate to ask her to, I know things happen. But I am eager to get this show on the road.
Avatar m tn Thanks Caregiver222. I found quite a few relevant studies there. Any other view and personal experience would help. Thanks!

Avatar n tn Is it true that SSRIs and beta blockers are not a wise combination? Is there an SSRI that works well with metoprolol tartrate? I do not have a history of high blood pressure, but I do have a history of anxiety. I used Paxil in the past but stopped due to the numb feeling. I think I also had weight gain on the Paxil.
1549468 tn?1345468736 Both valium and ativan are used by some physicians as medications to reduce the probability of a seizure. In such a case the medication is not prescribed because the patient has psychiatric problems.
183202 tn?1219853659 when determining if there is seizure activity in the brain or something else that could cause a seizure. I have no idea if this was a result of medication or whatever, but one thing I know for sure is you have to have this checked out ASAP. I have a friend that started having episodes and didn't have it checked out other than going to her doctor and having a check up.
1901977 tn?1333991726 I was trying to tough it out but my upper respiratory infection has moved down into my chest and with my asthma, the doctor is really worried about it turning into pneumonia and just put me on the "Z-Pack" (Azithromycin)antibiotics. I'm in my 12th week right now, and really worried about taking them. But the doctor says if my breathing goes bad or I get pneumonia that's much worse for the baby...so I just took my first dose tonight.
Avatar f tn If the event you experienced was a seizure, it is very possible it was because of the meningioma. If that is the case, with removal of the meningioma, seizures will in most cases stop. In some patients, anti-seizure medications are used for a while after the meningioma is removed.
