Avatar n tn sounds like you should get a full physical and a battery of tests. Between now and then keeping a journal for your doctors helps.
1563022 tn?1296332599 t know either if that was a seizure but i remember a journal about depersonalization related to anxiety, it could also be something like that. In any case, the best is to check it with a doctor. Maybe someone who knows how to find this journal could leave a link here....
Avatar n tn He has had an MRI and EKG done, there is some evidence to a seizure disorder, but the doctors are not looking into the body temperature factor. When he has a seizure he doesnt sweat and just goes blank, and most recently has vomited. They only last 1-4 minutes. Please let me know if you have heard of anything like this. I am just having a hard time excepting that it is just a seizure disorder, when it is so closely related to his body temperature regulation and his activity level.
Avatar n tn Okay... I know it's several days after you posted this, but nobody's answered and I just came across it now. Don't panic... Upon reading what you described, my first thought is... your kid might have epilepsy. All those strange things she's doing .. that could be a seizure. Many people only know about the generalized seizures (entire brain misfiring briefly) where a person will fall down and shake or simply become unaware of their surroundings and stare off into space.
Avatar f tn Since I have no seizure doctor at the time, does anyone know if Depakote taking for seizure control can cause parahyperthyroidism.
Avatar f tn Taking them for the feel good factor is the first sign of addiction. What surgery do you have every 2 weeks? I think you should discuss this and the shaking during sleep with your Dr. It could be signs of withdrawal. Ask Dr if there are any alternatives that are non addictive. . Try keeping a diary of when you use them and why. Work out how often you take them for physical pain and how often for emotional or the feel good factor and then try to take them only for physical pain.
1559533 tn?1308948561 Yes, anti-seizure medications (Tegretol, Gabapentin, Lyrica, etc) are used to treat neuropathic pain (things like Trigeminal Neuralgia or Dysthesias.) They can also be used to treat seizure disorders. They did not seem to effect my diagnosis. They did not effect my neuro exams, MRI, VEP, LP, etc.
Avatar f tn Hello again, sorry if this is a really stupid question, but what is the difference between a Seizure Disorder and Epilepsy? My neuro had diagnosed me with a seizure disorder (having daily occurences) and I just wanted to know what the difference was.. of course, I forgot to ask him at the time!
Avatar n tn Too much stressed body and mind do not get proper rest and may be a triggering factor. You need to see a neurologist if symptoms worsens further. Keep posting your thoughts. Take care.
Avatar n tn I was taking Lamictal (anti-seizure medicine) while getting ECT treatments. SHOULD I HAVE BEEN TAKEN OFF LAMICTAL BEFORE THE INDUCED SEIZURES? I am experiences extreme memory loss and cognitve function. Unable to speak articulately since the ECT. It doesn't make sense that I would be on an anti seizure medicine. Would this require more electricity to be used to induce the seizure? Would more electricity risk brain damage? Which I feel I have.
535822 tn?1443976780 Hi guys sorry to plague you again but latest is I cannot delete a journal..
Avatar f tn But this morning I came across something strange I was touching my right side of my head it was sore which I found werid I massaged it and triggered a head seizure which I thought that was strange I did the same thing on my left side same thing. Then I decided to experiment and see what would happen if I massaged my whole head and it triggered my head to move in odd ways which was scary . I've also noticed that at night my head gets itchy . What could be causing this ?
Avatar f tn I know that untreated or uncontroled hypertension and heart conditions as arytmia can be factors of danger of stroke. The seizure is also an alarm you should pay attention too if you arenĀ“t epileptic. If you have a family historu of stroke it is another factor of danger. Do yourself a great favor and visit a neurologist right away...and see a cardiologist and do something about your arrymtia and artereal hypertension.

644974 tn?1312758070 Are you trying to write a journal through the Journal interface or through the Tracker interface? On My MedHelp, on the Journals panel, you should see a link that says, Write a new journal entry. If you click that, you should see a form that has text boxes for Title, Journal Entry and Tags. Do you see that?
976084 tn?1270872439 I don't want to copy and paste what I wrote in my journal but if someone thinks they might want to help me can you please read it. Thank you for anyone who actually does...
Avatar m tn anyone else doing a pregnancy journal for their child to read once they're older?:) I've been pretty loyal to mine.:) I hope my son will enjoy and appreciate it once he is older.
Avatar f tn I hit the ground, hit my head, then had seizure each time. I always believed the seizure was related to the looking up, but thought it was a cardio issue, and I resisted seizure meds. In Oct of this year, I had a brain fog/sea sick kind of feeling that I now believe was due to CSF build up; but I laid down, then had seizure. Neurologist at Mayo Clinic in JAX found the CM1 on the MRI and has referred me to NS at Mayo. But the doc still wants me on seizure meds.
Avatar n tn Always let the neurologist know right away about any new or changing symptoms. The anti-seizure medication should not have any impact on his school performance.
