seizure

568343 tn?1217862660 I have had 1 seizure so far in this pregnancy I am now 8wks and it is a concern for me because last I saw my seizure doc I was not preg. yet about 3 and a half months ago but I go to see my baby doc.
Avatar f tn There aren't any docs here - this is a patient to patient support forum. I'm sorry your family is going through this. The thing is, the baby isn't "normal". Something is wrong, they just don't know what. Have the doctors actually said the baby is fine, or have they said all the tests come back appearing normal so we haven't found what is causing the problem yet?
Avatar f tn You really need your pediatric neurologist to evaluate your baby for the type of seizure. My newborn had seizures during his first week and is on seizure control meds (phenobarbitol) to control it. Seizures were different, however. Try not to worry, you probably need medications to control them. They might want to do an MRI and CT scan to verify any brain damage...
167 tn?1374173817 I just wonder what it is! I can see my belly move up and down in the rhymic pattern in the one specific spot.
Avatar f tn For like 2 or 3 minutes straight she will go nuts in there and the only way I have been able to describe it is like a seizure! I googled it and habent really found an answer but saw a lot of posts where people reported the same thing and came back saying their babies were born healthy and perfect, so no worries!
Avatar f tn s firsts, and will do the same with my little girl. A newborn can cause strain in a relationship, and usually does, exhaustion, learning how to take care of a newborn, etc, is hard the first year or so, but as long as you try to put aside the fact that whatever comes out of yours, and his mouths is just because your tired, and you're very clear what you need from him, and what he needs from you, you'll do fine.
Avatar f tn This lasts for up to 5 seconds and occours 5 times in an hour sometimes more. She does not cry after or before these happen and she seems to b getting wornout and not feeding as much. After these happen she then comes out of it panting, like she's catching her breath. We are really worried and would appreciate any feedback. Thanks.
Avatar n tn I know this blog is late but I just found out that my 1 yr old daughter has seizure disorder. They haven't told me exactly what kind of seizures she's got and i am totally clueless to seizures. She was 10 months old when she had her first big seizure. It happened while she was sleeping. I saw her eyes open and fixated upwards, one arm and one leg was jerking and she had drool and a little bit of vomit all along her mouth and the bed.
Avatar n tn My 11 year old son suffered a local seizure in left leg followed by a general seizure in 3 hrs. he was suffering frm high fever and was on malaria drug along with doxycycline. his reports like MRI, veinography, CFS, EEG AND OTHER BLOOD TESTS R NORMAL.what could be the reason of seizure? will it repeat. what r the precautions to be taken.
990354 tn?1307132886 Seizures (convulsions) have occurred in some people taking tramadol. You may be more likely to have a seizure while taking tramadol if you have a history of seizures or head injury, a metabolic disorder, or if you are taking certain medicines such as antidepressants, muscle relaxers, or medicine for nausea and vomiting. Take tramadol exactly as it was prescribed for you. Do not take it in larger doses or for longer than recommended by your doctor.
Avatar f tn Ive tried to contact the doctor who diagnosed me several times but he will not return my calls. No other doctor where i live will help me... i dont know what to do I have a newborn and im the primary caregiver right n ow and im scared that something may happen while im takin care of her.. I have psychogenic non-epileptic seiures aka Conversion Seizures, i cant walk or move or talk normally anywhere from hours-weeks after a 'Conversion Seizure'.
Avatar f tn Last year after marriage the frequency increased. Thrice in 3 months. We went to a different doc. He said that he had primary generalized seizure or a right right frontal focus with hemispheric bisynchrony. He also said that carbamazepine is not right medication for it so slowly changed it to kepra. My husband dint have seizures for 5 months. After carbamazepine was completely stopped and he was completely on kepra , he got seizure. He takes 3700 MG ok kepra per day.

Avatar m tn Then in the early evening, he had a major seizure. This time, he had three of them in a row, and afterward, was back to lethargic. As money is tight because of Christmas, we had no money to take him to the vet until today. He has been lethargic ever since Saturday morning, will only eat beef and rice that I make him and not much of it, he's drinking some water and using the bathroom outside like normal, but all he wants to do all day is sleep. It's very sad. Sooo not himself!
Avatar f tn i thought baby going to be small but yet i only bought one newborn sleepsuit and one newborn outfit thats it... now his estimated weight is about 8-9lb it can go down because i heard that u/s estimation can be wrong .. lol.. i m just hoping he wont go above 90 percentile now..
Avatar n tn she was then refered to a neonatologist in our place , chest x-ray was done which revealed normal but they diagnose her to have transient tachypnea in the newborn... her eyes had not yet yet open completely so she was referred to an opthalmologist and dignose to have ptosis. 1) how soon can you diagnose newborn with ptosis 2) how is ptosis treated in newborn 3) is there any relation with having ptosis and the tachypnea?
Avatar n tn I'm so sorry you're facing this. At some point they may recommend an ablation but I've never heard of it being done in an infant. In the meantime, they will keep trying to find just the right medicine to manage these tachy times for her. From what I've been told when I was an infant I had what they thought were seizures. I would shake and turn somewhat gray, pass out. Years later they realized it was actually my heart.
671476 tn?1283382148 My three week old nephew has a slight fever of 99.7, a runny/stuffy nose and a slight cough. My sister is very worried and wonders if she should take him to the doctor tomorrow or maybe the ER tonight? This is the first baby in the family in a while, and we don't really know what to do. Does anyone know how high a fever must be to be considered serious? Also, can you please give some tips on making the baby more comfortable and easing his symptoms. Any help would be great. Thanks!

Avatar f tn The vet said she had an epileptic seizure and gave her some Valium for me to give her if she has another seizure. All has been well until tonight(10-13-08). I was reading on the net that dogs do not have epilepsy, it is strictly a human condition. I want to believe my vet but.... Will you please explain to me what causes seizures in dogs and what I can di to prevent it?
4194487 tn?1370046144 Can you put a newborn in a high chair? My friend is having a birthday dinner and i havent given birth yet but if i dont go before getting induced he will be 10 days old at the youngest.. Anywhere between 10 days old and 20 days old, is it okay for them to be in a high chair? Or just sit him in the pram?
Avatar f tn Not knowing a seizure happened is very normal. You should probably get him an EEG that would give you the most information. Just understand that we don't know a lot about the brain, so knowing why someone has a seizure isn't something that can be answered. Do not take what I'm saying in place of what a doctor will tell you. I want to stress that I'm not a doctor.
