Avatar f tn Recently one of my friends told me something that happened to him this weekend. He told me that he was seated for a long period of time, and then when he tried to stand up he got very light headed and the room started to spin. Before he knew it, his legs gave up from beneath him and he started shaking. He told me that the shaking was like he was being electrocuted... I was wondering if my friend sustained a heart attack, seizure, or if he just had a panic-like attack.

Avatar m tn Is it normal for a hypertensive person to suddenly lose sleep and wake up with heart palpitations, shortness of breath, feeling hot and in panic condition? The feelings subside a few minutes after taking cold water or cold bath or emptying the bowels.
Avatar f tn You need to investigate these symptoms for as to whether this is a syncope, vasovagal attack , transient ischemic attack, dehydration, anemia, hypoglycemic episodes, hypothyroidism, hypo or hypertension, heart rhythm abnormalities etc. The second episode appears to be seizure related since there is an aura and a post ictal phase of confusion and tonic clonic involuntary limb movement including heavy head hitting against the wall.

Avatar f tn I used to work for a vet. This sounds like a heart-attack to me. A seizure would not have been instantaneous death like that. But when the heart stops... I'm so sorry fo the loss of your furbaby.
1153903 tn?1307740400 then i woke up after like an hour of sleep and my heart was racing in this weird rythymic state that would not slow down. i mean ive had this happen when i drank on the clonazepam but not like this. i thought this was it! i was saying my prayers. i tried walking around got some water breathed u name it. my heart would not slow down. i thought it was going to explode fromt the rate for sure. there was not pain at all.
Avatar n tn It does sound like a seizure - the problem is figuring out if the seizure directly contributed to his death, or if it was an underlying condition that caused both the seizure and death. It could have been a stroke, or even a heart problem. Any time oxygen is reduced to the brain, seizures become possible. Any chance he could have developed heart worms?
1563022 tn?1296332599 Lost it for 1-2 minutes. Acutuley aware of what was going on but was paralyzed. Is this a seizure? Spoke to a friend who has an epileptic friend and he said spots in front of your eyes is a good indicator one is coming. Had that at 5:30 or so. Worst in my life. Just wanted a little "normal" Friday night. Is this part of wd's? Been through enough but was told expect more....usually you get more than one. Scared to death to drive. Sat for hours drinking water.

I got hot quickly, hands got clammy, heart was kinda racing, felt like I couldn't breathe, my brain felt like it was shaking, & I felt nauseous. I also felt like I was going to faint or something. Its driving me nuts and Im mostly lightheaded after talking for a long period of time or walking. I am back to exercising but feel like **** afterwards and have very low blood pressure after exercise. Any suggestions? I am taking Paxil, and xanax.
Avatar f tn People thinking there going to have a seizure is normal with those who suffer anxiety and panic,,,I always feel like Im going to have a seizure,,and sometimes will worry myself so much about it my anxiety syptoms will get worse and cause even more symtoms that scare me into thinking Im now going to have a heart attack. Dont worry its the anxiety,,take a nice relaxing breath and take one of your Xanax if you havent already.
Avatar n tn I am at times able to sense the attack coming with high heart beat rate strange sensation. I have been showing to a Neurologist for a month now and have been given torleva 500 twice daily. The attack has become milder but still persists once or twice a day. Somebody please help me understand whats wrong with me. At times I also feel a little dizzy if i look at the extreme right from my eyes without turning the head. I feel I will get stuck in that position & just continue looking right.
Avatar m tn She is extremely skittish now when we do get home from work. I am wondering if she is having a panic attack or some type of seizure. Any insight is appreciated.
Avatar m tn Panic attacks lead to so many extreme thoughts...'I'm going to die, have a heart attack, pass out, go crazy, have a siezure' take your pick...! They are classic responses to panic attacks. I've never had a seizure, but in my experience they usually happen to people without warning. Something else may cause you to have a seizure, but usually not panic anxiety. Anythings possible, you can get hit by lightning during a panic attack.
Avatar m tn ve only had a panic attack once I thought it was a heart attack. Had my father take me straight to the hospital. The symptoms progressively got worse on the way there, my arms went from tingling to numb. They told me it was just a panic attack and I should follow up with my doctor for further testing. Now, last night I had the hardest time getting to sleep. I felt the sensation throughout my body again and I told myself to relax and ignore it.
323615 tn?1226193396 I would NEVER trust an EKG ever again. Both my husband and I showed that we had a "previous heart attack", both EKG's done at different places, mine at the ER, my husband's at a Cardiologist's office. The following EKG's showed NO previous heart attack, but we still had to go through all kinds of tests to prove there was no heart attack even though the following EKG's were normal.
Avatar f tn He had just begun to feel energetic, hale and hardy again after a heart attack and surgery last spring that left him pretty sick. His heart apparently is fine these days, so what could this new thing be?
1063386 tn?1287878569 Not sure whatvthis little attack was but I have never had it before. Could it possible be a drop attack. I am not really sure what they are?
Avatar f tn If these symptoms appeared in my patient, I would consider seizure and pseudo-seizure (seizure-like activity brought on by stress/anxiety). I would send my patient for a EEG to screen for seizure activity-- this are usually done in the hospital but some patients actually have a type done where they carry the testing box around with them.
Avatar f tn Just wondering if anyone else ever feel like they are having a stroke, seizure or a heart attack while trying to go to sleep? You wake up and check your pulse or go to the bath room and don't have that feeling. Then you go back to bed and it wakes you up again. Now you really want to go to the emergency room or wake up your spouse but feel as though it may be a false alarm....but scared to go back to sleep. You may be so convinced that you want to call the ambulance.
