Avatar f tn My disorder is called Simple-Partial seizures with Aura. The symptoms are much like those of a severe panic attack only panic attacks don't have the Aura. The aura is where you start feeling REALLY weird like your going to go crazy, feel like your going to die right before you seizure, limbs with pins and needles, numbness, especially in my lips/face, headache, my muscles will burn, freezing, profuse sweating, and this could last all day before I have a seizure in the evening.
Avatar f tn complex partials all of my life but at an older age I statred having grand mals as well. In regards to video games and computers it all depends on what triggers the seizures. I am unable to stay exposed to video games and computer screens for long time periods due to the bright, counter-connecting waves which for unexplained reasons trigger my seizures. Once again, that's something to discuss with your doctor. I would suggest observing your seizure activity while on the computer.

Avatar m tn This is video game related motion sickness/ dizziness and the best way to tackle this is to stop playing video games before it worsens. Open the windows of the room or step out and breathe in fresh air and stay there till normalcy. Certain precautions can be taken like turn on more lights, sit as far from the computer screen. You can try chewing ginger pills which can alleviate dizziness.

Avatar m tn Good morning or good evening to everyone ! So I am epileptic (not photosensitive), I am under a treatment (I didn't do a seizure for more than a year), and my doctor prohibited video games, but I want to know why and if I can still do animations using Garry's mod (a tool that looks like a game but that I wouldn't really call a game, it looks like this : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aM2MA6xOXzk ) thank you !

Avatar f tn There are several conditions which can mimic seizures like a syncope, parasomnias, and movement disorders. There is a condition called psychogenic nonepileptic seizure (PNES) in which there are sudden and time-limited disturbances of motor, sensory, autonomic, cognitive, and/or emotional functions, these are psychogenically determined. Other conditions mimicking seizures are conversion disorder, panic attacks and migraine attacks.
Avatar f tn at the time he was playing a video game. we found out this day that he had a smaller type seizure at a friends house about a month ago that he did not tell us about. during both times he was playing video games. he also complains of periodic headaches, but they are not bad. EMS was called and he was taken to the ER. at first they did a cat scan with contrast that was normal. the next morning they did an MRI with contrast. they found a 1.1cm right temporal lobe 'lesion'.

Avatar m tn This time, another doctor dealth with me, he stitched the wound, gave me a tetanus shot and recommended I stay away from the television or video games, get adequate rest and eat healthy. My doctor at the clinic also recommended this. My medication was changed to dilantin, but it still made me sick. They did an EEG on me about a year later and found everything to be normal, but I knew something was wrong.
Avatar m tn Thank you in advanced and to anyone that has recommendations or advice. He plays video games a fair bit and watches movies. Nothing flash or like Japanese anime.
Avatar n tn NEXT TIME YOU WITNESS IT, TAKE HER STRAIGHT TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM SO THEY CAN OBSERVE AND RUN TESTS. ALSO IF YOU HAVE A VIDEO CAMERA TRY AND VIDEO TAPE THE BEHAVIOR FOR DOCTOR AS LONG AS YOU KNOW SHE IS NOT IN DISTRESS - as in breathing okay, heart beating ok, not choking, etc. OTHERWISE CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY IF THIS EVER HAPPENS) ASK ER DOCTOR TO ADMIT HER TO HOSPITAL AND DO A 24 to 48 OBSERVATION IN A CAMERA ROOM WHILE HOOKED UP TO EEG.
5690865 tn?1372451618 Hyper focus means you can focus for one thing for a very long time, in spite of the ADD/ADHD. My son can do this with video games. However, getting him to focus on homework or even eating his dinner is a struggle. I hope this helps. Good luck!
Avatar m tn I have a 7-year old who about last year in Kindergarten started displaying odd behavior of zoning out. We first noticed this behavior when doing homework and reading. I think it has gotten worse into 1st grade. And i have witnessed this behavior not just during studying/learning/reading times but also while she plays video games and on the soccer field in action. She'll just stop and leave reality for a few seconds followed by a few seconds of disorientation before figuring out where she is.
203342 tn?1328737207 yea every kid loves video games but the games have to be fun. if you can get those new technologies to work with games like halo or world of warcraft i can see it being a great help to many people, but other wise i don't see it working on kids above the age of 12.
Avatar m tn re not having any caffeine, watching TV, playing video games, or doing anything else too exciting a few hours before bed time. Try to avoid bright lights. You could try having a hot bath/shower just before bed, or drinking hot milk - there's a compound in the milk that helps to make you sleepy. If you're able to wake up to an alarm, set one for 8 hours after you want to be going to sleep, and make sure you get up, even if you've only had a few hours of sleep.
Avatar m tn play alot of video games? it could poaaibly be a vitamin defenciey. tell your doctor about all of these. and say how it can effect your body/mind.
Avatar n tn When I was a really little kid, I would sit and play video-games all day! Now I only play video-games like 3 times a week, and only for a hour or so. Is there an effect that video-games can have you, to thwart my progress as an athlete?
Avatar f tn Here is a game for those who enjoy any kind of games. Board Games, Video Games, T.V. Games, Computer Games, etc. Rules: The rules are very similar to the Song Titles: Alphabet Game, but instead of song titles you would list a game. Beginning at A, then when we reach Z the game would begin again at A. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Let's try to see how many we can list without repeating any.
