Avatar f tn U would have to Inhale a lot of second hand smoke to have a positive drug test. Please do your research people. & If its uncomfortable to u tell him to stop. I smoked with my now 3 year old son until about 16 weeks. People tell me hes the smartest 3 year old theyve met. Not saying it is ok but i dont think its as extreme as people make it out to be. 3 years later im smoke free & 11 wks preggers again. & My little boy is fine.
Avatar n tn t think much of that episode, but am somewhat concerned because I definitely inhaled some of the second hand smoke as they walked by. Any chance this could show up in a test? Since I was exposed to the smoke and felt that I inhaled it, I am trying to figure out how the smoke would not be able to affect a drug test with a false positive. Thoughts?
Avatar f tn I agree you should be careful and try to stay away from it. Second hand smoke effects everyone and is especially bad for baby. Did your doctor explain any of this to you? A drug test is something to worry about, but you and baby's health is much more important than that.
Avatar f tn he want smoke around me. So just look up the facts on second hand smoking then present your facts to your family & let them know your concerns regarding your unborn child.
2006603 tn?1331329327 There are many risks with second hand smoke exposure even for ppl who are not pregnant. Second hand smoke can cause under developed lungs, increase the chance of sids, low birth weight, baby can develop asthma and a bunch of other things too. Its good your fiance doesn't smoke in the house or around you but he should get into the habbit of not smoking in the car either. The nicotine can settle into the fabrics which is the same as smoking a cigarette while being in the room with the baby.
Avatar f tn Look if you're that worried about your baby then seriously just stop going over there. Think about it if you will. You either be alone or go to your grandma's where you will inhale second hand smoke which is way worse than smoking itself. It's terrible that your gma is like that but if she is indeed like that then just stop going over there. She obviously doesn't care to stop so just stay home and try to stay occupied. Your babies health is of the utmost importance.
Avatar f tn Are you all serious? Smoke of any kind can harm a baby. Stay away from smoke. Yes its second hand smoke.
Avatar f tn I told my dr I smoked due to sickness and insomnoa and he told me they wont drug test unless they suspect the mother is a bad drug addict. Drug tests cost a lot of money. But it really depends on the hospital. But I would for sure tell ur doctor because that way he's aware and wont order one.

Avatar f tn There is very lukewarm research currently available about the effects of Marijuana second-hand smoke (the ones that give clear-cut answers are usually opinionated and not scientifically credible); but just to be safe, stay clear when you can. Good luck mom!
Avatar f tn s. If mother declines drug test they will test baby anyway. CPS will be called but i think it really depends on your situation as to whether they will follow up with a formal case.

Avatar f tn The second hand smoke is not good for you or the baby. Ask mom, if she can smoke outside of the house. Plus, there is a tiny chance that u can test positive for weed. My friend went to a concert when she was around 4 months and everyone was smoking around her. At her next dr. appt. The nurse talked to her about her "drug use" because she tested positive for weed. She explained what happened and the.nurse said ok, but for her next two appointments the.
Avatar n tn no second hand smoke will not show high enough levels....
Avatar n tn t test positive and even if they were to pick up a trace they could tell by the levels of it was ingested or second hand. Either way to be honest I smoked my whole pregnancy with my 2ND daughter and only stopped the month before I was due and never had a problem (I'm not suggesting picking the habit back up ijs you shouldn't worry) I do however avoid all smoke with this pregnancy and definitely don't permit it in my house or car.
Avatar m tn there have been various studies done on second-hand smoke regarding meth (including other drugs); particles can attach themselves to clothes, hair, etc., and can be taken into the lungs by inhalation causing damage over an extended period of time...
Avatar f tn Now that a lot more is known about second-hand smoke, I'm really curious if when I got married to a smoker if that didn't bring on my allergies. Within 1.5 years of being married and living with a smoker, I all of sudden developed severe allergies where I was waking up every 30 minutes because my nose was completely closed up. I became allergic to the world, there's no place I can move to alleviate it.
Avatar f tn It's second hand smoke. So yeah its bad.
