I have been having irritaion of the scalp and it feels like somthing is moving around in my scalp. I have tried lice treatment dandruff shampoo and ointment for the past two weeks and its still there. I was wondering if it could be from the herbal supplement that I am taking st john worts flaxseed oil and b complex?

For the last four years I feel itching, scaling and flakes on my scalp. Now only i came to know that this is Seborrheic Dermatitis. Because of this I lost almost 40% of my hairs. I learnt that this is a temporary hair loss. I tried many shampoo's like selsun,scalpe etc. And also i have been intaking Glacex(B-complex vit) tablets long time. Still My problem is not resolved. Last four year i consulted many doctors (Skin specialists).

To anyone who can help. I have had a really bad case of scalp Seborrheic dermatitis for the past several years. I have tried everything under the sun to get rid of it and nothing will work. Hello, Since seborrheic dermatitis is caused by overgrowth of fungus, so any dietary changes or herbal remedies is not going to help. A differential for this is an allergic reaction to an unknown trigger ( unless you may be able to provide some triggers) as well as seborrheic dermatitis. Other differentials for a rash will be psoriasis , a fungal infection or a viral infection. You have noted of dry skin along the hairline. I have it as well the only thing that I found controls it is a shampoo called T-Gel it controls the itch peeling soreness usually it prevents any flare ups for at least 6 months for me... wash your scalp with it for about 4 days or until it's gone! then return to using a mild shampoo, I use Pantene daily hydration if you don't wash your scalp daily the over production of skin on your scalp will cause it to return... at least that has been my observation dealing and living with this..
