Avatar m tn The other possibility would be perioral dermatitis. Seborrheic dermatitis is usually caused by overgrowth of Malassezia furfur. This skin disease commonly affects adolescents and young adults, especially in warm and humid climates and is aggravated by sweating and humidity. Topical antifungals and mild steroids are the usual treatment and combination of the two can be used to treat stubborn patches.
Avatar n tn There is no definite medical treatment for seborrheic dermatitis. Frequent and vigorous shampooing with medicated shampoos is the mainstay of therapy. Is there any associated hair loss?
Avatar m tn In any case, an all-natural aloe vera gel or cream soothes and reduces redness and speeds healing, so you might want to give that a try. Be sure the product has no added alcohol as this is drying. Apply it morning and night and you should notice improvement within a couple days.
Avatar f tn Hello, From the symptoms it looks like perioral dermatitis only. Seborrheic dermatitis could have been another possibility but it does not explain the pimples and acne. Perioral dermatitis is a chronic papulopustular and eczematous facial dermatitis. Treatment consists of oral antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs. A mild soap or soap substitute, such as Dove or Cetaphil(non perfumed) should be used for washing. Scrubbing should be avoided.
Avatar m tn Well, a fellow Canadian. I've never heard of Aloe Vera as a treatment for Hep.C. I do know that it has some amazing properties. Have you checked out the possibility of treatment with Interferon? That is what I'm doing, my viral load is down, but side effects can be difficult. This treatment has been proven to be very successful. Have you tried anything else?
Avatar m tn s worst, the rash is really red, inflamed, very sensitive, a lot of clear, yellow liquid discharge, and less itch. Also, it does not or has not spread. To treat it, I tried aloe vera gel, but mostly neosporin cream and jojoba oil. With this treatment, the rash would slowly go away. I continued to apply treatment even when the rash was gone, but it would still break out again. So I went to the doctor yesterday. Diagnosis: Contact dermatitis.
Avatar f tn My primary care physician does not know what it is and her recommended treatment did not work. (Acne alcohol pads and pure aloe vera gel) ANY IDEAS?!
Avatar n tn Also look for a toner and light facial moisturizer with aloe vera (The Body Shop has a really good line that I use, along with the pricier Epicuren Pure Aloe Vera). It may take 1-2 wks. for your skins pH balance to return to normal. Hope you find relief soon.
Avatar m tn Hello, One possibility that is coming to my mind is of seborrheic dermatitis. Seborrheic dermatitis is a common skin condition that causes flaky, dry, white to yellowish scales to form on oily areas of the body. It is usually caused by overgrowth of Malassezia furfur. This skin disease is aggravated by sweating and humidity. Oral antifungal drugs and immunomodulators such as tacrolimus and pimecrolimus are used in very severe cases.
Avatar m tn They called it possibly psoriasis or seborrheic dermatitis, but it might have been dermatitis herpetiformis, which goes with Celiac disease. My scalp still isn't normal, so you do not want to scratch and you want to find out if gluten or other problem foods are the cause, and also rule out any other problems with your digestive tract if they convince you you don't have Celiac disease. Problems with digestion come out in your skin.
Avatar n tn Hey is the aloe Vera clear and it's a 100 %
Avatar n tn Hello, Dermatitis and rdeness of skin are common after nitric acid usage. Apply calamine lotion or aloe vera gel and wear cotton clothes. Also do not mess with these and they should heal fine. If there is increased redness or pain, then get an evaluation done from a dermatologist. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor.
Avatar n tn ( I would like to suggest pure aloe vera gel to you, the reason i suggest this is because aloe vera gel is fantastic in healing skin, it is also soothing, reduces redness, is a natural anti bacterial, and makes the skin lovely and soft.... at the same time it will not make your skin too 'wet' either.
Avatar f tn Thank you! Yes I tried cortisone cream at one point then was prescribed a stronger steroid & anti fungal combination cream. I have tried lotrimin with no real results, but not aloe Vera.
Avatar m tn ve tried vaseline, aloe vera, an anti-chafing gel, neosporin, cetaphil, and cortizone. Nothing significant happened from using any of them. I spent months using them too. I talked to a doctor who told me aloe vera should heal it in a few weeks but it didn't. He also said it didn't look like a fungus and its definitely not an STI/STD. Does anyone have experience with this or have any ideas on what I should do?
Avatar m tn Lastly, place a clean bandage over the aloe vera leaf it to keep it in place . Do this after each heat treatment. You may have to do this for several days or even up to 10 days. Do not scratch, pick or squeeze the cyst. Aloe vera not only heals but it has an antibiotic action. If this does not work for you, your only option may be surgical removal and antibiotics.
Avatar m tn I was told by my dermo that I had Seborrheic dermatitis. It was dry itchy and scaly under my beard, in the nose folds, ears and eyebrows. I was given desonate gel to use for 2 weeks and things calmed down. However now I just have a redness itchy forehead. I put moisture cream o it and it doesnt really help. Is this still donsidered Seborrheic dermatitis? And would the desonate gel still be the right rx to use?
Avatar m tn Hello, It looks like seborrheic dermatitis. Seborrhoeic Dermatitis is believed to be an inflammatory reaction related to the proliferation of normal skin habitant Malassezia – a yeast, which produces toxic substances that infect and irate the skin. The disease is neither contagious nor related with diet but it may be aggravated by other illness like Psychological stress, immune compromised patients, neurological diseases like Parkinsonism and stroke.
