seborrheic-dermatitis

Avatar n tn I have seen 3 doctors who tell me I am at no risk. Then one said I have seborrheic dermatitis on my scalp (same size as the nodes). Ive been under stress for the past 2 weeks worrying im infected (alot of the symptoms apply from what i've read online). The only thing I have done out of normal life is masturbated into toilet paper a few times about 2-4 weeks ago, and about a month ago cut my ankle playing street hockey. What stage of HIV does seborrheic dermatitis come?
Avatar n tn I developed seborrheic dermatitis on my face that is mild and controlled by creams a couple of weeks after a sexual encounter with a woman of unknown hiv status. It is now several years later and SD is still with me off and on and I never had it before the encounter and I am experiencing no other symptoms. I have also had anxiety ever since the encounter and have gained 20lbs. When during the course of HIV infection when does SD usually occur?
Avatar f tn The symptoms of seborrheic dermatitis can be effectively controlled with a combination of self-care measures and drug therapy.Diligent washing or shampooing can control the symptoms of seborrheic dermatitis by countering the build-up of skin scales. Thus, my questions are as follows: 1. Will this disease ever go away? 2. What is the success rate for this medication to deal with Seborrheic Dermatitis and what are other options?

Avatar n tn Hello, From the symptoms it can be dermatitis skin, seborrheic dermatitis or fibrous papule of the nose. Seborrheic dermatitis is a common skin condition that causes flaky, dry, white to yellowish scales to form on oily areas esp. under the nose or anywhere on face. Avatar f tn Hi You might be suffering from scalp (seborrheic) dermatitis or scalp eczema or scalp psoriasis. The exact diagnosis depends on clinical examination. Seborrheic dermatitis presents as dry skin on the scalp, which flakes off (dandruff). The skin on the face, behind the ears, eyelids, nose and chest may also be affected. Symptoms of scalp eczema may include greasy yellowish scales that may turn flake off along intensely itchy and inflamed red scalp.
Avatar m tn some 3 months after this encounter I got seborrheic dermatitis on my face around my nose (I have had seborrheic dermatitis on my skull my whole life and it stopped at one point). Should I be worried that the seborrheic dermatitis appeared around that time ? I haven't had any other symptoms (no weight loss - I actually gained weight, no swollen lymph nodes). Avatar n tn s guaranteed to stop seborrheic dermatitis forever, but treatments can control its signs and symptoms. In case of recurrent seborrheic dermatitis, topical and oral antifungals, immunomodulators such as tacrolimus and pimecrolimus are useful. In addition some lifestyle measures like using antidandruff shampoos daily, avoiding harsh soaps and detergents, wearing cotton clothes and covering the itchy area with a dressing to prevent itching may also help. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.

Avatar f tn I have never had any issues with my skin and I have read that seborrheic dermatitis is strongly related to HIV, i also have red eyes and frequent migraines. When do HIV patients start developing seborrheic dermatitis? What other symptoms are developed with it? When performing my last test alcohol was not completely dry on my finger + the final reading was before the 20 minutes mark set by the manufacturer.
Avatar n tn Hi I do understand that this may be discomforting and frustrating for you. This sounds like a case of seborrheic dermatitis. Seborrheic dermatitis presents as greasy and yellowish scales on the body. This may involve areas of the face, chest, and scalp. Definite cause for seborrheic dermatitis is not known. Yeast infections have been associated with this. I would suggest that you continue with your medicated shampoos. There is really no definite treatment for seborrheic dermatitis.
