if someone has seborrheic dermatitis patches around the lips and chin, does it means he has HIV, or is seborrheic dermatitis a common skin condition that affect many people.
There are no other symptoms, just flaky skin in the sides of my nose, and only the sides. it happens once a year, and started about a year ago (so i think it has to do with make up) it will probably disappear once more this spring, and come back next November. i will definitely look into Seborrheic dermatitis.

I suggest you to get an examination done from a dermatologist.
Bump, I guess what I am asking is if the Seborrheic Dermatitis can be controlled using the two creams I was given then why haven't I noticed any improvement over the past 4-5 months?
I have flakes coming out of my head,face(Head,area just under eyes,back of the ear) and on shoulder specially on end of frollic.
I am using Protar-K and salobet oinment (it doesnt seems to effective).
Please advise any oinment or shampoo which you would think work better.
Is there anyway i can get rid of serobic dermatitis i am scarred to hair loss.

From the symptoms and pictures it looks like perioral dermatitis and seborrheic dermatitis on the forehead. Seborrheic dermatitis is a common skin condition that causes flaky,dry, white to yellowish scales to form on oily areas esp. under the nose or anywhere on face.
My sincere advice is to consult a dermatologist and get it evaluated. Diagnosis has to be confirmed first.
I have had seborrheic dermatitis since I was a kid. I saw a doctor when it first showed up around my nose, and HIV has never ever been mentioned. It's just a type of dermatitis, not really that different from dandruff. It's very common. I just wash my hair with head and shoulders brand intensive treatment shampoo and it clears up my face just fine. I don't even need to use it daily, just during outbreaks.
it is most concentrated on either side of my nose (not just ON the sides of my nose but on the cheeks near my nose as well) and in between my eyes and in that immediate area of my forehead. could you please tell me what might be causing this and what i can do if anything to remedy this situation.

Apart from this, these white patches can be due to pityriasis versicolor or vitiligo.
I put moisture cream o it and it doesnt really help. Is this still donsidered Seborrheic dermatitis? And would the desonate gel still be the right rx to use?
which definitely improved the condition of my skin and doesnt contain any of the harsh ingredients that traditional make up does. Try and avoid getting water on the skin under the eyes (difficult i know, esp when in the shower)

I appreciate your response to my question. I've been to the Doctor's office already and the Dr. diagnosed this as an allergy.
To elaborate on the description of the rash, the bottom of my ear on both sides are very dark in color and very scaley. My Forehead has that same dark look going across the top.Both sides of my face have a round rash that appears to me to be about 4 inches in diameter. And my neck has that same dark color as my ear and forehead.
Therefore, seborrheic dermatitis probably never is the only manifestation of HIV disease. If yours were due to HIV, you would be losing weight, having fever, and probably would have had one or more life-threatening infections by now.
Every new medical condition "pops up suddenly"; diagnosis of something new says nothing about the cause. That you had a new sexual partnership a few years ago is equally immaterial.
