Avatar n tn There are no other symptoms, just flaky skin in the sides of my nose, and only the sides. it happens once a year, and started about a year ago (so i think it has to do with make up) it will probably disappear once more this spring, and come back next November. i will definitely look into Seborrheic dermatitis.

People with seborrheic dermatitis produce too much sebum (the natural skin oil). Later, pityrosporum yeast grows excessively in the sebum, sometime along with bacteria, making the dermatitis more persistent. I suggest you to get an examination done from a dermatologist.

I am using Protar-K and salobet oinment (it doesnt seems to effective). Please advise any oinment or shampoo which you would think work better. Is there anyway i can get rid of serobic dermatitis i am scarred to hair loss.

Seborrheic dermatitis is a common skin condition that causes flaky,dry, white to yellowish scales to form on oily areas esp. under the nose or anywhere on face. My sincere advice is to consult a dermatologist and get it evaluated. Diagnosis has to be confirmed first.
Avatar n tn I have had seborrheic dermatitis since I was a kid. I saw a doctor when it first showed up around my nose, and HIV has never ever been mentioned. It's just a type of dermatitis, not really that different from dandruff. It's very common. I just wash my hair with head and shoulders brand intensive treatment shampoo and it clears up my face just fine. I don't even need to use it daily, just during outbreaks.

Try and avoid getting water on the skin under the eyes (difficult i know, esp when in the shower) I feel for you, I am constantly battling with my under eye skin. Let me know how you get on.
Avatar m tn Dr. Kaur, I appreciate your response to my question. I've been to the Doctor's office already and the Dr. diagnosed this as an allergy. To elaborate on the description of the rash, the bottom of my ear on both sides are very dark in color and very scaley. My Forehead has that same dark look going across the top.Both sides of my face have a round rash that appears to me to be about 4 inches in diameter. And my neck has that same dark color as my ear and forehead.
