seborrheic dermatitis of the ear canal

Left ear itches/burns in the canal and sometimes on the outside skin of the ear, also sometimes I get the feeling like its leaking some type of liquid throughout the canal(I'm not sure it is, but it feels that way), when I touch/push down tragus there's a click sound, when swallowing/jogging/turning my neck clicking sound increases to rattling, **after taking a shower it starts to itch even more every time**. Been this way for a few years now and is only getting worse.

Thanks! I'm just not sure why I'm having a sudden increase in skin issues though. Now I'm getting flaky skin on my ear lobe, and the side of my face near my ear, and down my neck. There is no redness, no itching, just rough and flaky. I just don't understand why.

There are no other symptoms, just flaky skin in the sides of my nose, and only the sides. it happens once a year, and started about a year ago (so i think it has to do with make up) it will probably disappear once more this spring, and come back next November. i will definitely look into Seborrheic dermatitis.

I have flakes coming out of my head,face(Head,area just under eyes,back of the ear) and on shoulder specially on end of frollic. I am using Protar-K and salobet oinment (it doesnt seems to effective). Please advise any oinment or shampoo which you would think work better. Is there anyway i can get rid of serobic dermatitis i am scarred to hair loss.

I have for the past year had these black dots (see picture) in my ear. I have eczema of my inner ear canal in both ears (i do not apply any lotions), and I am regularly 'yelled' at by my ENT to stop cleaning my ears daily with cotton buds. These black dots only appear in my right ear, they have not gotten any worse, I have tried scratching at them and they will look white as some do in the image. Anyone have an idea of what they are? or how I can treat/remove them?

Hi, you have the exact symptoms I have now, the scaby neck and behind the ears, the scabby itchy ears and the pin pricks on the end of my finger which looks like splinters but isn't. Did you find out what this was!? Or has anyone else had the same??

Last October, I went to my dermatologist because the back of my head from one ear to the other had been really itching and I had raised - but non pus small bumps.. He told me that I had an infection of my hair follicles and prescribed Doxycycline. I took it for 10 days and all but an area behind the lower part of my right ear went away. I went back to him in December - when I couldn't take the itching any more and he perscribed Doxycycline again.

You will need a dermatologist to find out if the seborrheic dermatitis is causing the hair to fall out or if it's normal male patterned baldness or something else causing the hair to fall out. Hope this helps!

i also forgot to add that it is only on my head. its all over. the top, the back, behind me ear, in my ear, on the sides of my nose, atm only on one eyebrow but starting to show up on other, biggest spot would be on my forehead and the back of my head.

I just recently noticed that I have a rash that runs along the back of my ear in the crease where my ear attaches to my head. It is about 1 inch long and gets raw then scabs over. I have been putting cortisone on it. It appears to help for a while, but then dries up, scabs and then gets raw again. It does not itch and that is the only place where it appears. Any ideas?

I dont know what to do or what to think what it could be. The bumps r now appearing on the side of my ear becoming visible :( if anyone has advice please i will appreciate it!

I have had seborrheic dermatitis since I was a kid. I saw a doctor when it first showed up around my nose, and HIV has never ever been mentioned. It's just a type of dermatitis, not really that different from dandruff. It's very common. I just wash my hair with head and shoulders brand intensive treatment shampoo and it clears up my face just fine. I don't even need to use it daily, just during outbreaks.

People with seborrheic dermatitis produce too much sebum (the natural skin oil). I put moisture cream o it and it doesnt really help. Is this still donsidered Seborrheic dermatitis? And would the desonate gel still be the right rx to use?
