From the symptoms and pictures it looks like perioral dermatitis and seborrheic dermatitis on the forehead. Seborrheic dermatitis is a common skin condition that causes flaky,dry, white to yellowish scales to form on oily areas esp. under the nose or anywhere on face.
My sincere advice is to consult a dermatologist and get it evaluated. Diagnosis has to be confirmed first.

The child may be having psoriasis as the lesions for psoriasis may sometimes involve the eyes and ears and they may appear to be flaking and bleeding. Other differentials like eczematous diseases , seborrheic dermatitis, atopic dermatitis may also need to be ruled out. Your daughter may bring this to the attention of the teacher or counsellor. Their classmate may need to be assessed by a physician if this hasn't been done yet for a definite diagnosis.
Hi, I am a 20 year old male, and back in November I was diagnosed with Seborrheic Dermatitis on the sides of my nose. My Dermatologist prescribed me two creams Clotrimazole and Hydrocortisone. I have been using these creams since November; however, I have yet to see any significant improvement. Also he told me I have acne under my eyes which also seems to outline the Dermatitis, and he told me to use 2.5% Benzolye Peroxide.
I also hear fermented foods like beer, wine, cheeses, vinegar, mushrooms and olives are developers of itchy skin and can effect dermatitis of the skin.

I have been getting electrolysis on my face and have recently been diagnosed with seborrheic dermatitis. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me if the Seborrheic dermatitis may have been caused by the damaging of the hair follicles. I have very mild seb derm but it flares up about four days after an electrolysis session on my face.

It looks like seborrheic dermatitis. Seborrhoeic Dermatitis is believed to be an inflammatory reaction related to the proliferation of normal skin habitant Malassezia – a yeast, which produces toxic substances that infect and irate the skin. The disease is neither contagious nor related with diet but it may be aggravated by other illness like Psychological stress, immune compromised patients, neurological diseases like Parkinsonism and stroke.

I cannot confirm anything without examination but one possibility is of seborrheic dermatitis. Seborrheic dermatitis is a common skin condition that causes flaky,dry, white to yellowish scales to form on oily areas esp under the nose or anywhere on face.
The other possibility is of alopecia totalis, ( in this there is hairfall of scalp as well as eyebrow and eyelashes), blepharitis especially seborrhiec blepharitis, icthyosis or leprosy.
Hence if your child is school going then it is unlikely to be seborrheic dermatitis. However it is often hereditary and if you have been diagnosed with seborrheic dermatitis, then your child carries the risk of having it in future life during adulthood.
Moreover it causes redness and inflammation of skin with yellow patches or red, greasy skin covered with flaky white or yellow scales. Hence it is unlikely to be seborrheic dermatitis in your child’s case but confirmation needs to be done.

I was told by my dermo that I had Seborrheic dermatitis. It was dry itchy and scaly under my beard, in the nose folds, ears and eyebrows. I was given desonate gel to use for 2 weeks and things calmed down. However now I just have a redness itchy forehead. I put moisture cream o it and it doesnt really help. Is this still donsidered Seborrheic dermatitis? And would the desonate gel still be the right rx to use?

I have very very dry and red skin under my eyes. I am not able to use any eye cream or it burns very badly. when i put on eye conceler it creates a very bad crease and i am only22. I am on solodyn and thought maybe that could be causing this. I am currently using cortizone and aquafor as that is the only thing that does not irritate me. What do i do?

Usually seborrheic dermatitis presents in this area but it can be contact dermatitis or eczema also. It is now several years later and SD is still with me off and on and I never had it before the encounter and I am experiencing no other symptoms. I have also had anxiety ever since the encounter and have gained 20lbs.
When during the course of HIV infection when does SD usually occur? My dermatologist says my SD is very mild and that it does not seem worriesome but is really starting to stress me out because I never had it before.
