I have suffered for almost 5 yers with pimples on scalp, The scalp gets very sore in a circular pattern , bumps come up or pimples with blood, pus and serum. My dermatoligist said it was a folliculitis and put me on minicin which helped 100% but then I became allergic to it. She tried Doxycyclene and it did nothing. Multiple antibiotics were tried. Some cleared it up for about 3-4 weeks and then it comes back. Some did not help at all. I have been on Bactrim DS 800-160 tab for a year.
Hello, This kind of bump can be a swollen lymph node,a sebaceous cyst or a boil. Lymphadenopathy (swollen lymph nodes) is usually caused by a viral or bacterial infection along with other numerous causes.Treatment is usually cold compresses, over the counter anti-inflammatory analgesics(pain killers) like acetaminophen or ibuprofen, antibiotics if cause of infection is suspected to be a bacteria and surgical drainage if there is any abscess formation.
They are huge and small. They puss and bleed. They are very sore to touch and sore when I brush my hair. I am losing my hair in the affected area. It is a large amount of hair loss. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what it could be. In the pic attached you can clearly see a huge red bump and there are a lot of small bumps you just can't see them as well. I am concerned but I have no medical insurance and I don't want to lose my hair. Help!
Yesterday I woke up with my bottom right wisdom tooth sore and the tissue around it swollen. My right ear and scalp are also very sensitive to the touch. If either are touched or move, they hurt a lot. I also get what feels like ear ache pain on the right side whenever I swallow. Is a nerve being compressed or does this sound like an infection?
I am a 33 year old white female who is almost over a sinus infection, cold or allergy. About three nights ago I discovered about a one inch roundish swollen slightly railsed area on my scalp (located about 2 inches above my hair line at my neck and about 3 inches back from my ear). This is an area that is totally covered by my hair. I went to an urgent care clinic and the Doctor told me it was not a lymphatic gland because it is not in an area where there is a lymph gland.
I have a blister or syst like bump behind my ear, it is sore and feels pressured like it is filled with fluid it is in the crease on the back of my ear where it joins my scalp I have foolishly thought it was a pimple and poked and squeezed it, some puss came out, but the sore is still there There has been a bump there for a few months but it has recently (last 2-3 weeks) gotten larger and very sore. Any ideas what this is and how I can best treat it?
i have a sore red patch with a white pimple like lump in the middle of it under the hood of my clitoris and it only hurts when it gets bumped.. im really worried of what it could bve.
My experience was with a student who has completed her training and is waiting to take her state medical exam. I went to her because of the cost – through the student clinic she is half the price of seeing the fully licensed acupuncturist, who over saw the treatment and was there anyway. We briefly discussed what I hoped to get out of being there, and I gave her a lengthy list of problems on my patient information sheets – head to toe ailments – there’s nothing simple for me.
I went to the surgeon today and basically she said what everyone is saying here ... an ingrown hair with a clogged subceaous gland. She said that sometimes there is drainage from a pin-sized hole (I've never had any drainage). I am having minor surgery to have it removed ... she also said that it is easier to remove when there is fluid in it. She said that it looks like a large pearl and is filled with puss and blood that have a terrible odor.
Hello. My fiance has been suffering with eustation tube dysfunction for a little over 6mths. now. We have tried numerous decongestants and nasal sprays as well as a round of steroids. His ENT did allergy testing on him, however, he did not have any significant allergies. Our last resort was to have PE tubes placed. This only made his symptoms worse and they took them out after a couple of weeks. Suprisingly after they took the tubes out and his ears were healing, he was symptom free.
One more thing- it may or may not be related but yesterday morning I woke up with a dry, red, sore patch of skin around the left corner of my mouth. When covered up with makeup, it's not so bad, but still notciable and sometimes itchy. I put on some E45 cream today, as I thought this would help, but I think it made it worse as it started stinging and burning almost immediatley. I never had this before, only since the problem has returned to my eyelids. Related, perhaps?
Shortness of breath persists, but clears up quickly, within 3 or 4 minutes. Also, I notice (a curiousity) that my scalp becomes quite sweaty when these bouts occur. I would say this has happened about 3 times a week for the last 2 weeks. My question is, what am I experiencing?
It should be considered that there are many symptoms of TMJ disorder. Everyone is different, therefore the disorder can and does manifest itself in a variety of ways. Although this is by no means an exclusive list, the following are symptoms a patient with TMJ disorder might experience. You do not have an aneurysm. There usually are no signs.
At the same time I developed an itchy scalp with some dandruff (coincidence maybe). I suspect my nymph nodes are swollen due to a cold (viral infection). I just want to be sure as I have never had symptoms like these.
I have this for two months, the scalp thing goes away with the t-gel but comes back when I stop using it.
I really don't think this has anything to do with my sinus's. The cough is like an irritation because my throat is being pulled. Any one have any other ideas please?
The pimples went away on my scalp but the one's on my face come and go. The 3rd week I got caught in the rain and woke up with a sore throat for a day or two then came the sinus drainage and chest congestion. Everything is ok now except for a little chest congestion. Now I have had little sore spots in my mouth that go and come. AM I DYING or what? Do I need another HIV test? This discussion is related to Dr. Rockoff....

since about the last month of June I have been suffering from a clogged feeling in my left ear, pain that shoots from my left temple to the back of my head, sore scalp, pressure around my left eyeball, and allergy like symptoms. The pain has eased alot, but its very annoying, and is now starting to switch to the right side. Massaging my scalp and temples seems to help some, but I want to know what's wrong and how I can get rid of it.

I felt immense pressure behind my ears. After prednisone and ibrufin I got better. There was a lot of post nasal drainage and the burning sensation and ear pressure went away. The ENT thought it was a Eustachian tube dysfunction. This September I got the same symptoms back. Except no ear pressure this time. My face and lips experienced some burning sensation and I felt weak and heavy in my calf muscles. My doctor put me on antihistamine and the facial burning sensation reduced.
I've never really had allergies, but for some reason this spring I've been sneezing, itchy eyes, itchy ears, drainage in throat, sore throat, and my throat feel swollen or like it could close. I also have Eczema on my ears and scalp, and have since a child. I've had these allergies for 2 months now. I've tried eliminating wheat, dairy, and sugar....which doesn't help much. I've tried Hyland's Allergy and Sinus, which hasn't helped much.

I too from time to time get a lump on the left back of my head....about in line with my ear...and it almost feels like a lyph node that gets sore. I have had this for quite some time...and it comes and goes. I have read that it is more then likely a node...and when the nodes get larger/sore...it could mean that its an indicator of something like an infection ( sinus ) or other. I dont have any other nodes swell up...and for example today...I dont feel anything back there...not sore...
Hello, I am currently being followeed by a neurologist due to chronic migraines that ive had for the past 10 years or so. He does not seem to know what is causing them and so he is always switching me from pills to pills but none of them seem to work. I dont know what to do anymore. 4 years ago, I had viral meningitis insephilitis*, and Ive had these root pains from my hair.
It has been happening for the past 4 days or so and nothing seems to help it. I even wake up with my head throbbing, sore throat, stuffy nose. Does anyone know what this could be? I dont have medical insurance so its hard for me right now to see a dr for this.

The other night after the last ER run I went to pull my hair back into a pony tail and found that my scalp was very sore in the same spot that they show the swelling on my MRI, so I starting googling those sympotms as well and came across something called Epicranial Spasism that seems to fit the bill with what I am going through. 1. They come in "episodes" - This headache episode has been going on now for 14 days, NONSTOP 2.
I keep my washcloths stacked flat in my linen closet next to my sink. Even with my eyes closed I open the cupboard grab one with my left hand and blot my eyes and face. I toss it in the laundry basket afterward. A lid scrub in the shower once a day works wonders too. For styes, which rarely develop now, I resort to the extra strength version of the more popular foaming lid scrub. It is one that is left on without rinsing. I use that for two days and my stye goes away without warm compresses.
