sore

Avatar n tn I developed a sudden bump on my scalp. It's been there for 4-5 days now. It's red, sore and painful when touched. I went to the doctor and he said it was an infection and prescriped antibiotics to be eaten 4 times a day. It's been 4 days and it hasn't changed much. There's no pus or anything. i was a bit concerned. Should I go through MRI tests.etc?
Avatar m tn I have recurring pain in my scalp and I first started feeling it in my ears and throat. When the shooting pains started moving to the right side of my scalp, I though it was something to do with my nerves. I once had a similar issue on the other side of my head and the doctor said he believed it was a scalp pimple pushing down on a cluster of nerve endings.
Avatar f tn I was wondering if anyone is able to help me. The last 2/3 days i have had bad burning headaches/scalp which has left my scalp feeling tender & sore. However now when i sniff the top of my head in the center (kind of where a hairband would sit) it feel sore & burny.. is this sinusitis?? I do feel congested on & off & have had a small runny nose along with eye pain (they feel like there is lots of pressure in them).
Avatar m tn At some point in the summer I had a weird rash on hands that were kind of like scraps but it can possibly be from washing my hands a lot. also my scalp is sore often in certain spots. And I got BV again so Idk if they are signs but everything started last December. Idk when she had the virus but I definitely saw the medication for it.
1819252 tn?1317092002 Hi everyone. I am 13 weeks into treatment and I have a very sore, dry scalp. My hair is also falling out quite a bit now. I was wondering if any of you have found a product to help the scalp. I have been using Nioxin shampoo and conditioner, but it doesn't seem to help at all.
Avatar f tn These sores can be caused by viral, bacterial or fungal infections. Acne and clogged hair shafts can cause scalp sores, too. Cysts on the scalp are another cause of scalp sores. In folliculitis there is inflammation of one or several hair follicles on the skin causing red, bumpy and pimple-like lumps.Tinea capitis causes round, red, scaly bumps on the scalp's surface.
Avatar m tn I was scratching profusely because of psoriasis I have on scalp. I may have slightly broke skin on scalp at this point in time. Again, scalp did not have skin openings during touching at club. When home, I scratched at it and may have broke skin.
Avatar m tn Yesterday, I discovered a tick on my dog. I touched the ticks body, since it was still embedded in my dogs neck. I washed my hands after touching the tick and took her to the vet to have it removed. Am I at risk for any diseases or infection?
Avatar n tn My question is if his finger had a fresh cut with blood (HIV+ assuming) could that infect me with HIV when he touched my sore spot? Like I said above it was a casual, couple of seconds touch but still a wound-to-wound one assuming he had a wound, too. Would appreciate some assistance and possible reassurance or advice based on the above incident and assumptions. Thank you all for your time.
Avatar m tn A couple of times each year I get these symptoms. Tender scalp, minor sore throat when swallowing and ear pain. I have tenderness on the outside of my neck below the ear and can massage it for some relief. If I turn my neck a certain way, nerve pain shoots from my scalp to shoulder. I 100% believe it’s heroes related as I have had fever blisters for year and had shingle like tenderness on my abdomen 15 years ago or so.
Avatar m tn Also, it seems that when I was infected the chicken pox, everything that i touched with my hands I would get a sore. I remember washing my hair. One uses the fingertips to wash the scalp. After the treatment with this medicine and healing, I have these ridges that goes in lines or groves on my scalp. I would like to getvrid of these redish marks and groves or ridges(but no scarring there). Skin is perfectrly normal where the lined depressions are.
Avatar n tn Ive always had a tender scalp on and off but about 2 years ago I started noticing my hair was thinning where my scalp was sore primarily. Its been thinning at the top and around the temples. The thinning progressed rather quickly ive had to xut my hair shorter to make it blend. Prior to the thinning my hair would shed these grey flakes like dandruff especially if I was sweating or just finished playing sports.
Avatar m tn m having the same symptoms - ear ache, sore throat, sore scalp. My symptoms have all appeared pretty rapidly. I noticed my ear started hurting yesterday afternoon. Today, I noticed my throat hurt and my scalp has become increasingly sensitive to touch. Did you see a doctor? Did you take anything or do anything to relieve your symptoms? Thanks!
Avatar f tn The hair loss happened to me in cycles, about a two month process with sore scalp, then a few weeks of major hair loss, then it would stop for a while, then the whole thing would begin again. For dy mouth I used a product called Oasis, its a mouth spray that helps a lot. You can get it over the counter. Good luck.
1731798 tn?1310253152 Hello Rowena- thank you for your concern- it appeared during taking a shower- it was burning when water touched it- same thing happened today when I had a shower. Its just there currently on base of back of neck. Its reddened- I took antihistimes with I think is it Ceritine to help take pain away- I have a feeling its this Urticaria rash that keeps blighting my life.I was referred to a dermatologist who said I had excezma from pics i showed him- I do have this on my scalp .
1009876 tn?1326490077 One month after, I started getting these hard red sores on my scalp. They are painful (especially when I brush my hair) and I find myself itching or picking them sometimes. Right now I have about 6 of them in different spots on my scalp. There seem to be more, and they seem to get worse roughly 2 weeks after my menstrual cycle. Not sure if that has anything to do with them though. I do have sensitive skin, and have noticed since being off the pill, my face is a lot more oily than before.
Avatar f tn Thanks for the info! I have tried some of the shampoos with salicylic acid or coal tar - all it did was make my scalp worse- sort of firery sore and super itchy. that's why I think its dry scalp and not dandruff or seborrheic dermatitis - the symptoms just don't fit. my hair and scalp are dry, not greasy - even if i go 3 days between shampoos my hair is not greasy. the flakes are small and white and not oily.
Avatar f tn During the past few weeks I have had a very sore area on my scalp almost constantly. It is a relatively small area, maybe one to two inches in diameter. I used to have really long hair and when I would wear it in a bun or ponytail all day, my head would get extremely sore. The soreness I am experiencing now is very similar, but my hair is very short...no ponytails anymore. Every morning I wake up with a severe headache as well. Not a migraine, but it's pretty bad.
Avatar f tn I've color my hair both w my pregnancy & put highlights. Just make sure bleach doesn't touched your scalp tho.
Avatar f tn It doesnt come and go while I just sit in one spot rather when I twist my neck slightly to the left and back when it is touched it hurts but not severely. Once in awhile when I am walking I will feel the pulling. Almost feels as though I have had my hair up in a pony tail for far to long. I have been reading different things on here and while some match others don't so I thought it be better that I just post for myself!
603946 tn?1333941839 I checked for sore spots and she screamed when I barely touched the hair on the middle section of her tail. About 20 minutes later I started feeling her tail again but she didn't yelp until I touched the area where her tail connects with her back. This is the first time she has ever done this... This has gotten me very worried. Also just last night her anal gland started to squeeze some "butt juices" out... Could it be related to her being in so much pain?

Avatar m tn Dear Neurology GURU, I am experiencing slight scalp pain near top/back junction of leftside of scalp which is characterized by sensitivity to the scalp when touched which includes laying my head on my pillow. When I touch & press my fingers on that specific point (which is not larger than a dime size area) or lay that portion of scalp on pillow, I feel slight pain in the scalp. Pain is like I feel something is injured in that area.
Avatar f tn Im almost 8 weeks and just last night my scalp began to feel sore in some places. Anybody else experience this??
