Avatar n tn You MUST shampoo every day and leave the shampoo with tea tree oil on your scalp for 5 minutes. Tea Tree oil is a natural antibiotic. But--before you go this route, tell your dermatolgist that you suspect it's staph aureus and request that he or she takes a culture!!
Avatar f tn I have tried everything and nothing worked, or at least not for long. Mix 1 part pure tea tree oil and 3 parts olive oil. Make enough to cover your scalp (~1/4 cup), massage it into your scalp, leave on for 30 minutes, shampoo and rise as usual. You will see results after first use, all of your dandruff will be gone as well.
Avatar f tn Ketoconozole shampoo should help hair. I used a brand called Nizoral for years and it was the first thing I used that helped. You could also add some drops of tea tree oil to a regular shampoo. I can't use conditioner of any kind because it annoys my scalp. I get relief by soaking my scalp in a solution of warm water and Epsom salts though. If that is helpful you could take magnesium supplements like mag citrate and vitamin D3.

Avatar f tn I have the same issues- had thyroid cancer, removal of thyroid. I use regular shampoo with tea tree oil and find that it works better than dry scalp shampoos. Tea tree oil also helps in the bath with skin dryness (probably any oil would help- I've heard Olive Oil helps too, but tea tree works well for me.

Avatar f tn my hair, I put my oil glands in my scalp into overdrive, causing this new abundance of oil!!! With that being said, I bought some "dry shampoo". It is a powder-like spray that is used in between shampooings. You spray it on any oily or greasy spots, brush it through and BOOM, your hair looks clean, dry, and smells good. I also bout "Generic Brand" Tea Tree Shampoo there.

Avatar f tn I have extremely dry scalp all over that flakes and itches so bad. I've tried Head 'n' Shoulders, Selsen Blue, Green Tea Tree Oil...everything...when I initially wash my hair it works. But by that evening or the next morning it's back. When I try to use conditioners to help, my hair gets so oily I can't stand it. I don't blow dry my hair anymore because it makes it worse faster. I'm just at a loss of what to else to do to make it go away!!
