Im 16 and I seemed to of gotten this itchy rash, on my chest Back and arms my scalp is itchy and flakey and I never had dandruff before. It is not inflamed, just small red pimples and there not pustulents like acne should be. I have pictures and i am worried they are chicken pox , altough i had them before I heard you could get them again. Im worried because I only got it 3 days ago.
Recently buzzed my hair and a week later noticed a small cluster of a dozen bumps on the top of my head in a 1" circle. Kind of looks like acne and doesn't seem to itch much. See photo. Appreciate any suggestions. Thank you.
He had wanted her to see a visiting Dermatologist but as it was, she was leaving out of town on a plane the very day and only day that he was taking patients. In this photo, you will see her scalp condition (as it was, after she itched it): http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y39/KateInAlaska/scalp.jpg Do you have ideas of what this is? If so, how and what would you treat this with? She says that it itches and see that it flakes- somewhat waxy & dry.
Hello, It can be due to folliculitis or perifolliculitis scalp. Perifolliculitis scalp is characterised by small, very itchy pustules within the scalp, often most troublesome on the frontal hairline. The scalp should be washed with a mild normal shampoo as often as desired. Antidandruff shampoos containing antifungal agents such as ketoconazole or ciclopirox are sometimes helpful. Apart from that you need topical and oral antibiotics, antihistamines, oral steroids and topical tretinoin.

Varioliformis is another type of scalp acne that many physicians consider to be a type of folliculitis, and is treated in the same manner. Varioliformis is characterized by brown pimple-like formations around the front hairline and the forehead.
I just washed it like I normally would and would scrub a bit more where it was settling on his scalp. It eventually went away. He also had baby acne but that eventually cleared on its own as well.
Perifolliculitis is characterised by small, very itchy pustules within the scalp. Acne keloidalis nuchae occurs when hairs on the back of the head and neck grow into the skin, become inflamed, and cause scar tissue. These ingrown hairs usually occur following a short haircut on the back of the head and nape of the neck. My sincere advice is to get it examined from a dermatologist.
I first went to a dermatologist (Dr Michael Lebowitz) about 12 years ago for moderate acne (back, chest, face), and again for a rash over trunk which, though I was never certain, I believe was diagnosed as Sebo-psoriasis. For the acne, I was prescribed Roaccutane, which worked well but required a few follow-up courses over following years.
//imageshack.us/photo/my-images/803/img0492rtrtr.jpg/ My barber says it hasn't changed since I've been back on Synthroid (2 years), but I feel it was thicker on natural thyroid/iron before I started seeing him, so he wouldn't know that. I'm now in the process of changing back to natural, and getting my iron checked again...
I have been getting small, extremely itchy (and sometimes painful)acne-like bumps on my hairline and around the crown of my scalp, which seem to be full of blackhead and whitehead-like deposits. Often the hair root will be either covered with a blackhead, or sheathed in a sometimes rubbery, sometimes crusty white material. This is all disgusting, very annoying, and very uncomfortable.
My acne was cured in a matter of months. I had the dry lips and the flaking scalp but other than that there were no short term side effects. I did go for regular blood work at the time and everything went well. Now I am experiencing gallbladder problems (attacks) which wake me up in the middle of the night. I have had my gallbladder photoed via ultrasound and radiology and the doctors have found that my gallbladder is very small.
It went down to a sort of red/pinkish colour, it hadn't disappeared after a month so i went to my GP. He reckoned it was acne so gave me some cream for it. After a couple of weeks the cream still hadn't worked so i went back and tried some alternative acne cream, it still didn't go. So i booked an appointment with a dermatologist and he said it looks like minor Seborrhoeic dermatitis and gave me some hydrocortisone cream.
I was diagnosed with Seborrheic Dermatitis by my dermatologist at the age of 21. Not knowing any better when I was younger I tried everything over the counter for acne, but I didn't have acne. I definitely do not have rosacea because I never got pustules. I have tried: Metrogel Finacea Desonate Nizoral Shampoo on my face head and shoulders on my face and Desonide lotion. the only thing that works is desonide lotion. I am so sad to find out that using this long term has bad side effects.
After extensive lab. and photo testing and also a biopsy to rule out phototoxic reaction, photo allergic reaction, polymorphous light eruption, underlying connective tissue disease and disorder of porphryin metabolism, the final impression was Atypical facial eruptions. She has eliminated all scented soaps, detergents, lotions, perfumes, etc.wears sunscreen and hats and has done extensive loggings of diet and activities with no connective factor found.
I noticed red & white lines near the top of my fingernails. Just above the red horizontal (following the natural curve of my tips) is a whiter area before the tips. I have looked at my family’s fingernails and do not find anyone having this. My toenails seem to be unaffected. My sypmtoms are having itchy bites on my face which for the longest time i thought was acne - but acne isn't small and itchy, my scalp, back is ichy and sometimes so is my groin area and now i feel something moving in my ear canal . I have tried evrything to get rid of it and being of african descendency i get pigmentation marks which make matters worse. I tried looking at it aas a thing of my mind but i seem to find ,now and again a single flea which suggests that there is something.
I am full of questions about recovery, risk of infection and I do not like to think too much about the procedure itself (cutting into the scalp and being put under). But, I do see the benefit that he won't remeber this and will be resilient. Also, it will reduce the chances of it transforming down the line. At birth I had a giant cavernous hemangeoma on my right arm, it healed after a severe infection. Now I just have a scar on my arm that looks like I was burned...
My joints hurt terribly, I would bruise easily, I couldn't concentrate, was forgetful, my muscles twitched, I had headaches, acid reflux, dizziness, fatigue, weird sensory feelings like burning, tingling and numbness, my hair was falling out in droves, I was gaining weight, had cystic acne---it was not a pretty picture. At that point, I started to research my symptoms online and everything pointed to an autoimmune disorder. I went to my doctor and asked that she test my ANA levels.

Then later to my neck, cheeks, thighs, and scalp. My OB said the rash did not look like PUPP and sent me for bloodwork to rule out cholestasis which is VERY serious and will damage your liver. She then sent me to a dermatologist who now theorizes a very rare pregnancy-related skin condition that increases chances of stillbirth. The prescription steroids seem to help but are not what I wanted my baby exposed to this early. However they claim leaving the skin untreated could be worse.

At 100 mcg generic T4 and 15 mcg Cytomel, my hair (which had grow back) is falling out again at a rapid pace in the last 2 months and my scalp itches and hurts again, about 4x as much hair lost per shower than before. I have gained 26 pounds, 3" around my waist and hips rapidly. My abdomen has become grossly distended again, and my lower extremities edemic, though I use little salt and do my own cooking almost always. I do not use processed foods. I do not eat junk food.
My chest formed a rash with tiny red bumps everywhere. I thought that I had acne and have been consulting a dermatologist for over a year now who has perscribed medicines that have not worked. The lumps and bumps seem to get worse towards the end of my work day (when Im wearing the bras the longest) and then clear up when I wake up in the morning (from sleeping and not wearing the bra) I have a dermatologist app.
