It sounds like the learning of a new language is crossing over to what you know. The English language has many words or phrases that can not be translated. So in learning a new a language these words have to be described out. Such as "bury" in English being "put him down" in Spanish. So when you go back to English one can tend to explain things out instead of just using the simple English term they knew. I have several friends who do this with Italian.

He is not able to make proper sentences, neither in English nor in our mother tongue. He gets confused in how to put his thoughts into words during conversations. Thinking and writing is little better. But for his 1st standard competitions, he has baged lots of prizes. (He prepares a day before and go).

Today I am 19, and I have trouble speaking 100% and words/sentences end up being tongue twisters for me. It makes me unconfident when I want to ask a question knowing I probably wouldn't be able to say it right. It's like when I speak my tongue kind of trips itself, or better say that it gets "stiff". The sentences that I really have problems with saying usually include alliteration in them, or that.

,maintains eye contact,no eating or sleeping disorder,usually cheerful and happy,displays emotions and responds to them,joyfully sings some nursery rhymes in both hindi and english, loves scribbling with crayons.

My husband and I speak Spanish as a first language and English as a second, I know that I have a long time but the songs that I putting them in my belly will be in Spanish but I'd like a mix of languages

Any mom here speak any other language beside English. .. English is my five language. .. I speak, write n ready all fluently and plan on teaching my kid all of them. N my boyfriend also speak two additional language beside mine so am looking forward to my kid being multi lingual. .. Anyone else have multiple languages in their house whole? ??

He also is learning to speak spanish from a nanny that he is with 3 days a week. Could the sign language, english and spanish just be an overload for this little guy or does he have a more serious problem? I am worried he could be autistic but he does love to cuddle and gives hugs and kisses just fine.

English is the hardest language start with Spanish first, but speak English as well Spanglish

t have any issues with them understanding English my 9 and 3,4 speak very good English and understand English now with my 9 year old he doesn't speak Spanish he understands Spanish but he doesn't speak it !! Don't worry everything will be fine !!! Congratulations !!!

thanks for the reply sorry about the lousy English in my post, i am losing my English recently when i am in a very bad mood, my brain tends to regress into a low-functioning level, in which i am less able to process the foreign language...

My daughter just turned 3 a few weeks ago. While she typically talks in 4-5 word sentences and displays an average vocabulary, I think she is struggling with some comprehension issues. If asked a question she doesn't know the answer to, she will automatically answer yes as opposed to thinking about it or responding with ''I don't know.'' I think she knows she's supposed to have an answer, but doesn't know what to do when she doesn't get what you are saying.

you should inform the teacher of her ability to speak a foreign tongue and just allow the daycare to use one language all day and maybe you can continue to use the mother tongue at home. give her extra time to begin to speak out clearly in these two languages. she has more to learn than other children.

I am also worried about the language thing. In my opinion, if you can speak English, at least when I am present, you should. I mean isn't that the whole advantage to being bilingual?? I am mainly talking about in my house. I am so uncomfortable in MY OWN HOME because when his family is around, it's as if I'm not even there. If they are capable of speaking English but don't, how am I suppose to feel included? Why would I even want to be there?

Hey girls well I'm asking this question for mothers with toddlers. Well I have a toddler who's 17months and we are Hispanic so we speak Spanish a lot here in the house. But I recently just started talking to him in English. But he looks confused when I do and seems to not really understand what I'm saying. My question is how do I do it so he starts picking up the English language.

he understand all languages but his expressive language is limited. he describes things around him in mother tongue, strings 3-4 words in english and other language too, can express his needs. His vocabulary is very good knows all flowers, fruits, animals, automobiles, alphabets etc.

You do need to drink plenty of water 2-3 litres every day. Did the doctor test your urine for any infections? Where is the bleeding actually coming from? It is from your urethra (where your urine comes from)? Or is it from your vagina?
