Hi, Salbutamol is contrindicated in asthma. It is a long acting beta2 agonist that can be dangerous for asthmatics to take without an inhaled steroid. Also, they take too long to be effective which makes them useless as a resuce inhaler as you have been trying to use it. I would recommend that you request further testing from you doctor. The methylcoline (sp?) challenge is the standard and definitive test for asthma. You are give puffs a methylcoline to try to induce an asthma attack.

Dorctors are giving Nebulizer medicens but she is not getting into comfortable zone. Please suggest a nebulization cycle for a long term procedure to get out of this.

A couple of months ago, after she had a bout with pneumonia (Reactive Airway Disease) and was on steroids for an extended time, we noticed my daughter had some dark hair growing on her pubic region, and we had the doctor check it out. He said it was "impressive" and sent us to have blood work done. Everything came back fine. Now, a couple months later, she just got over a bad cold that had her wheezing and back on albuterol and pulmicort via nebulizer.

thank you for your comments brooke, i also was told this by the doctor too but i have not taken my salbutamol in 3 days and are still getting these symptoms. i was told the effects of salbutamol last only a short while. thank you so much for your input, it is much appriciated.

I am 19 wks pregnant and suffer from terrible allergies this time of yr and have to use salbutamol 100micrograms inhaler. I use it up to 3 times a day. My midwife is uncertain if I can use this while pregnant and I have read up on possible effects to the baby and I am terrified. Has anyone used this while pregnant??

I have severe allergies to most trees. For the past 6 years I have developed a chronic dry cough in the fall season until it snows in the winter. I had tracheotomy done and was wondering if it is really a great treatment for asthma and sleep apnea. I could exhale better on the trach a shiley 6 and my blood O2 levels were good but I was dizzy and exhausted for 1 month after the surgery. the vertigo went away after a course of prednisone in the month after the surgery I couldn't sleep well or for long hours. In the beginning I also had a hard time learning new words/thinking quickly- I began to question the surgery.

I have had deep veinal thrombosis, a couple of TIAs, and severe rheumatoid arthritis (for 24 years). Two years ago, my GP prescribed a salbutamol inhaler. I recently had my puppy who was less than 2 years old pass away from aspiration pneumonia. I tried everything from antibiotics to oxygen therapy and nebulization treatment. I have one question, due to my low grade fever (100.4 F) and sore throat, could this be related to an upper respiratoy unfection, even if I did not have runny nose nor cough?

I had stridor 7 hours ago and rushed to hospital as I cannot have salbutamol. I had adrenaline IM and also nebulised. 7 Hours later my heart rate is still sitting at 120 at rest and I have tingling in my fingers and hands, waves on pain in my left chest (that I had at hospital nothing showed on ecg), and short of breath. Should I be worried????
