Safety with lifting

Common Questions and Answers about Safety with lifting

safety

Avatar f tn Most of the time when you miscarry its not cuz of anything you do, the primary cause is genetic malformations that aren't conducive to life. Heavy lifting won't cause a miscarriage but as you get bigger it can cause back problems. Other things that can cause a miscarriage are accidents/ trauma or severe acute infection... You do need to watch what you eat though.
Avatar f tn m currently 31 weeks pregnant and although she can avoid it she has me lifting bins of books (atleast 15). I know we are short staff but have a heart or get a accident report written on you....
Avatar n tn But as stated by another your Center of balance will change as your belly grows so you may need to alter certain job responsibilities as needed. But I too would talk with my doctor about other possible safety issues as well as my immediate supervisor.
Avatar m tn Based on limited safety and efficacy data, acetaminophen is the preferred analgesic in patients with liver disease who are not actively drinking You should discuss pain management and exercise with your liver specialist
Avatar f tn So im doing a lot of climbing up and down on chairs and counters and stairs and stools lol. Also, heavy lifting, running around, and working with harsher chemicals. Then I go home and clean. Needless to say, im a little worried. But I don't want to bring my baby girl into this world without being able to give her the life she deserves.
Avatar f tn Hi everyone - we found out yesterday we were pregnant with our first (so happy!). My question is, is it safe to carry on exercising at the gym whilst pregnant at this early stage? If so, what can I and can't I do safely?
Avatar f tn I have an urbani amd I love it.
715482 tn?1286833249 Ronny, I'm not the doctor (I think you know that, lol), But I just wanted to tell you, I've been on the addiction forum for over a year and any of the people that started exercising early (or at all), Felt better, much sooner than the rest. Seems the more exercise the quicker you will get all those brain and body functions back in order. Others just find it to difficult to even move. Congrats to you! You're gonna be one of the feeling good faster people. And Big Congrats on 4 days!
Avatar f tn I was mowing the lawn today with a push lawn mower can it harm the baby at all ?
Avatar f tn I currently work for a Veterinarian which is more large animal then small. So i am around vaccine both cat, dog, cow, calf, bull etc I am avoiding contact with them. I'm still early and the individual I work for really likes to talk/gossip... what do i do? I would rather tell them and have everyone and their dog know, then risk the health and safety of the baby. Just need some answers ...
Avatar n tn Yes you're still very early.
Avatar m tn I have a fragmented disc that has been inflamed due to heavy lifting. No pain in lower back, but quite severe pain along rear of right leg radiating into right foot. Doctor has me on naproxen 375 mg every twelve hours. Do you think this will help and do you think the frag will resorb? It has been 4 weeks and very little relief so far. I am trying to avoid surgery. Do you think I should be exercising, such as walking, etc.? Thank you. John .
Avatar n tn help I'm at work and I'm a cna and I think I just did something wrong lifting afterwards I noticed some blood very lite and it scared me just like when oil had pap smear help
7763771 tn?1510501652 I am not really showing yet although it still gets sore and uncomfortable when im working- lots of bending down pushing and lifting ect. My position will be changed later on although its still pretty much the same line of work. I am just wondering how many other soon to be mums are working in a demanding field and when you would suggest to put in for leave? I would like to stay in work til I pop although I genuinely dont think its going to be possible. Sorry for the huge story.
Avatar n tn The risk is the possibility of rupture so controlled blood pressure is a major factor as well as avoid heavy lifting. Another factor is how fast is the diameter increasing is size. The 126 systole could be lower for a better safety reliance.
Avatar f tn So i am only 5weeks and 4days. But my job consists of me lifting a lot of items as i work in recieving with a lot of freight. And my question is when do i need to be careful as for what i lift and how much weight is to much?? Avatar f tn I'm 21yrs old and 9 weeks pregnant. I work for an airline and sometimes lift 50lbs bags at check in. I've heard lifting heavy weight can be bad and lead to miscarriages. However I've also heard that because I have done this job for the past 2 years I should be fine because my body has adapted to it. I told management and they said the only thing they could do is congratulate me...
Avatar f tn Hey this is my first pregnancy. I'm 7 weeks. I'm 21 yrs old and I work as a full time EMT at a major hospital in New Jersey. I lift a lot of heavy things including a stretcher that alone weighs 100 lbs plus however much the person I'm lifting weighs. Any suggestions on when I should stop lifting and start my leave. I would do light duty but my job doesn't offer it. Any feed back would be great appreciated!
Avatar f tn Hi everyone. I was wondering how you all are feeling about lifting items that are somewhat heavy. I have been super careful not to lift anything heavy and then today (for some unknown reason) I picked up the laundry basket and walked it to the other end of the house. It probably weighed between 10-15 pounds. Could that be bad for me or the baby? Please tell me I am being EXTRA PARANOID about this.
Avatar f tn They say you can lift and do anything you were use to before pregnancy unless your dr says different.. Now with that being said I would still be more careful if it feels to heavy or to much I would suggest not doing it! Dr can give you a note! Just listen to your body is what I would say!
Avatar f tn but less likely to her pregnancy. Its better to avoid lifting because of the risk....but I doubt you did any harm. If youre worried....call your dr! :) God bless!
Avatar f tn I had asked scaredmom330 if it was OK to give you an update on her situation.. To all those whom responded to her post on Can a Husband rape you.. She appreciates all your concern and reply's I'm happy to report that her Brother will be at the house with her as of today and together they both will be moving her out of state closer to her son's where she will be living. She is separating from her marriage.
Avatar f tn My doctor told me not over 20, and I can't imagine lifting 50.. he told me it risks a rupture of my water or a tear in my amniotic sac.. I would definitely talk with your doctor, if he/she doesn't want you lifting you can get a note for work.
Avatar f tn depends what you are talking about... weight lifting, if you were doing it before you were pregnant then your fine to continue doing what you did at the gym if it still feels comfortable. if you mean things around the house and so on i carry loads of laundry at home up and down are flight of stairs since the beginning im 32 wks now ( no problems) i also have a 4 year old niece i carried early in pregnancy she's probably about 25 or 30 lbs.
Avatar f tn then sit with your feet up and point, telling them where to put things. Every good move needs a manager lol, and being pregnant is the one time it's okay to be really spoiled. It's a big job, carrying life.
Avatar f tn 5 mg of Paxil CR for about 3 years, I had the blues after my last baby and she will be 4 this year and I also got diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. I continually fight with myself over getting off of it but it does so much for me that I dont want to. My question is will it harm me in any way for staying on it? I dont want to cause any more problems for myself by staying on it but evidently I lack serotonin and the paxil replaces it. Any info that you might give me would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar f tn me and my boyfriend (long distance) have both admitted to each other we're virgins. we've also discovered i'm the one with more experience. he's never gotten a ******** or a hand job, etc. i'm going over to visit him for a while in the summer, i've arranged to get on the birth control pill, and had mutliple talks with my mother and experienced friends about it's use in preventing pregnancies.
