Avatar f tn I used a crib from day one with my daughter and plan on doing so again. It's recommended you don't use bumpers in a crib, or use mesh bumpers. And not to put pillows, stuffed animals or extra blankets in there either.
1035252 tn?1427227833 The task force recommends that the infant’s crib or bassinet be placed in the parents’ bedroom, which, when placed close to their bed, will allow for more convenient breastfeeding and contact. Infants should not bed share with other children. Because it is very dangerous to sleep with an infant on a couch or armchair, no one should sleep with an infant on these surfaces. 6.
Avatar m tn Data are lacking on TDF treatment throughout pregnancy in mothers with active chronic hepatitis B (CHB). We evaluate the safety and efficacy of TDF therapy in such mothers and their infant outcomes. Methods: We retrospectively enrolled CHB mothers who received TDF (300 mg/day) throughout their pregnancy between 1/2011-5/2013 and assessed mother-infant outcomes. All infants received appropriate immunoprophylaxis.

1330108 tn?1333677304 Another recall is Summer Infant Baby Monitors. Two infants died when the cord got wrapped around their necks. However I believe the parents should not have put the monitors so close to their baby's bed that they could strangle themselves. The monitors are being recalled to improve the safety label on the product; there is no product default. Please use common sense when using products that have cords. My heart is just broken for those dead infants.
1035252 tn?1427227833 I noticed that several people have asked recently about a forum dedicated to the parenting of newborns and/or infants, since the only MH group starts with age 1-5. I started a group specifically for the age of Newborn up to 1 year...so please feel free to join and ask any questions under the sun OR to post if you find any pertinent information (such as information from reputable sources about infant equipment safety recalls, or information about infant health and care).
Avatar f tn Toyota, Ford, Now Gm! Our food! car seats and cribs for infants and the list just goes on! Where are the people that are paid to regulate and oversee these things for safety? Is everyone paid to look the other way these days?

Avatar m tn Abstract Mother-to-child transmission of hepatitis B virus (HBV) is among the most important causes of chronic HBV infection and is the commonest mode of transmission worldwide. Currently, the presence of HBsAg, HBeAg and HBV DNA in breast milk is confirmed. Several studies have reported that breastfeeding carries no additional risk that might lead to vertical transmission.
Avatar m tn And the doctor suggests it no harm in using for longer period. Problem with this kid is that he is asymptomatic. He is active enough and good in all other aspects. Every six months we have the tests and assuring that the kidney growth and capacity is as per his age. At what age he will be cooperative for doing this test? Please advice whether the usage of medicine for longer period causes any side-effects in future. Also suggests any further care to be taken for the kid.

Recall Reason Many styles of crib are included in this recall. Image here represents just one. The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Delta Enterprise Corp., of New York, New York, are re-announcing the 2008 recall of more than 985,000 drop-side cribs with "Crib Trigger Lock and Safety Peg" hardware.
Avatar f tn goes up to 30 lbs, once my baby girl gets to 30lbs I have to buy a bigger carseat. Infants use smaller carseats than older babies.

362203 tn?1248810310 Doctors are conflicted, however, about breastfeeding for women who are being treated for hyperthyroidism, even with PTU. These studies showing the effects of these drugs on breastfeeding infants have been small, so no medical experts have said that any antithyroid drug is 100% safe for use while breastfeeding.
Avatar f tn The influx of many diseases and pests might have something to do with the large infants influx of people with poor health care in general. I know I will get backlash for this post, but let me try something on here: getting upset because someone who was vaccinated against a disease gets it and blaming a non vaccinated person who does not have it for causing it...
1658855 tn?1335211819 ve had graco and evenflo, and I prefer graco. I did a travel system with my two boys, and ill do it again with this one. Only difference is I'm using a double stroller this go around!
Avatar f tn There are often not a lot of studies done on infants and young children for the safety of the kids. They have, however, tested it on monkeys and it did pass through the milk to the breast fed baby. There are traditional ways to treat anxiety and depression and not always medication involved. Therapy is really great, CBT, to help learn to face issues and have appropriate coping skills. Self soothing techniques help. Exercise is a mood stabilizer. Meditation, hypnosis, etc.
7540649 tn?1395719596 This might be a dumb question, but I'm surprisingly unsure about this: can newborn infants sleep in a playpen as their crib? I was given a fold-away playpen today by a coworker, and I'm just not sure whether the baby will be okay in there if I'm using it all the time. Do I need any kind of special bed or padding or anything? I'm pretty sure I don't, and that it's fine.
Avatar f tn I love my crib. It converts to a day bed and later to a double bed. So it is a long term usable investment. That being said, a playpen is invaluable if you're traveling, or staying with friends. If you're only getting one for now, I'd get the playpen with bassinet.
Avatar f tn 5 mg of Paxil CR for about 3 years, I had the blues after my last baby and she will be 4 this year and I also got diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. I continually fight with myself over getting off of it but it does so much for me that I dont want to. My question is will it harm me in any way for staying on it? I dont want to cause any more problems for myself by staying on it but evidently I lack serotonin and the paxil replaces it. Any info that you might give me would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar f tn me and my boyfriend (long distance) have both admitted to each other we're virgins. we've also discovered i'm the one with more experience. he's never gotten a ******** or a hand job, etc. i'm going over to visit him for a while in the summer, i've arranged to get on the birth control pill, and had mutliple talks with my mother and experienced friends about it's use in preventing pregnancies.
Avatar n tn I agree with the above poster. Your Dr knows best. I do know several people that have had stents and heart attacks and tmany of their Drs have said if you can walk up 2 flights of stairs briskly and not be out of breath then sex is safe. Do check with your Dr first though.
