Avatar f tn Are Safety 1st travel systems any good? Before I got pregnant, I always thought "when I have a baby, it'll def be graco" but now that I'm looking around, I really like Safety 1st's travel system for boys better than Gracos. They have more color options to choose from, whereas Graco has only blue or green or black and there is no way that I'm going to pay for a Chicco or Peg Perego travel system and only have it used for a little while(my finance side coming out).
Avatar n tn Hello Dr. Parks, I am hoping to do some traveling with our daughter when she is 13 to 20 months old. It seems that all of the places we'd like to travel (South America, India, Africa) require immunizations/prophylaxis. What immunizations/prophylaxis are considered safe to take/receive at this age? Should we steer clear of these destinations for a while or can they be visited safely?
Avatar f tn I actually asked my obgyn this question since I often travel internationally. She told me that long travels are ok by 34th week. She advised me not to do it after that. If anything happens on the plane, who is going to help you? What if you go into labor? I don't mean to scare you or be insensitive. Just think of your own safety and your baby's well being in case you do need medical care. Whatever you decide to do, good luck!
Avatar f tn I had a safety 1st travel system with my first daughter and i loved it it was really nice and durable. And now she has a graco toddler car seat and she loves it. I personally think both brands are really good.

Avatar n tn The travel medicine part of your pre-travel preparations are important; but, you must remember that road safety, wearing a seat belt, and personal safety are equally or more important to ensuring that you have a safe and enjoyable trip.
Avatar m tn something that looks like someone poked him with a needle so it not the typical cut a razor blade would cause but a poke kind of. anyway, had the wife clean his lip really well and with alcohol etc.... common sense says he is fine as it wasnt something major . also i do clean my razor pretty ok after shaving but a worry is a worry and i cant help it. called his pediatritionist clinic today and asked i can come in to make sure his antibodies are good from back when he completed the vaccine..
4332997 tn?1358728615 OK so I am going crazy about finding the right travel system for my nugget!!!! I want to know What are the safest brands/models and any experience with anything from anybody!!!! I found an Eddie Bauer one I really like but was told that there were some iffy safety concerns on the car seat and mechanical issues with the stroller......I could scream because it is literally like buying a car for an infant lol!!!!! I am having a girl and would like a feminine look to it at all possible!!!!!!
Avatar f tn My doctor says it is safety. But i had miscarriage at 6 weeks right after flying. So, idk what was the reason. Hope not the flight.
Avatar n tn My question is what is the likely possibility of contracting HIV in this (worst case) scenario if the razors were previously used by someone who had HIV? Again, the razor appeared unused (and dry) but I didn't really scrutinize it. I heard the disease can't survive very long outside of the human body and it may have been at least 5 minutes after it was delivered to my room before I started using it. Does this warrant a blood test?
Avatar f tn For transmission, plenty of infectious fluid is needed to be exchanged inside the body, for which, a safety razor does not qualify. However, for personal hygiene, and to prevent other contageous infections, it is always better to avoid anybody else's kits. You may use a different brand having different color to eliminate the risk of picking up the wrong razor inadvertently.
Avatar n tn Your question is not real clear, but maybe this will answer your question. When a woman is rh neg and conceives with a rh pos male, her body may reject the baby due to the blood type of the baby. A medication called RhoGam is used to prevent the loss. The first shot is usually administered after the 13th wk and a second after the birth to prevent hemmorhage. Dosing may vary by dr. There is no need for treatment for the baby.
Avatar n tn Like all other items of personal use like tooth brush, safety razor and beard trimmer, I would limit the use of MY sex toys (If I ever intended to use any) to myself only. Although the risk is very negligible as rightly pointed out by alienshadow, but why to that that even?
Avatar f tn You are most likely having an allergic reaction to whatever shaving cream or lotion you are applying to your legs, assuming you are using a safety razor. It is also possible that you do have extra-sensitive skin and the skin response is to mechanical irritation from the shaving device you are using. You might want to switch to a “non-allergenic” shaving cream/lotion product. On the mechanical side be sure to avoid using any razor that is not ultra-sharp.
Avatar m tn Hi-I used a (used) safety razor at a golf course and cut myself. 10 Days later I had throbbing voluntary muscles throughout my body and a sinus issues. The sinus issue cleard up in two weeks, but the throbbing eased into a dull ache-particularly in my right biceps that I've had for 6 months, I was tested thoroughly for HVC (multiple antibody, PCR Qual) and HVB. All negative. My hepatologist has referred me to a neurologist saying the razor was just a coincidence.
Avatar n tn I got my stroller travel system when I was 7mths. Put it on layaway around 5 1/2 mtgs so the cost was spread out. I'm 35+ 4 and if the baby was to come early I'm already prepared. I already have breast feeding and bathing supplies, newborn diapers, wipes, clothing and bottles just in case.
Avatar m tn Your advice is inappropriate. Each case must be assessed on a case by case basis. Razors and other items which can 'share' blood and other bodily fluids have been known to pass on HIV. Survival of HIV outside of the human body is complex and to difficult to determine in such circumstances where exposure to blood may be present. For example, HIV may survive for several hours if in a wet solution. When it dries on the other hand, the virus dies quickly.
Avatar m tn i have the same problem and i recently went on vacation and used a travel razor and didnt get razor burn at all...

Avatar f tn , ipod (which was really nice during labor and to block out hospital noises at night), nightgowns (cause no one wants there butt hanging out), socks, travel size shower stuff, TOOTHBRUSH!! And tooth paste (I forget mine and the hospital had some but they aren't good)and a change of clothes for when you leave. I brought make up but never used it honestly... for my husband I packed underwear, sweatpants, slippers (he'll be walking more than you), toothbrush/paste and 2 change of clothes.
Avatar f tn In my registry gift bag from target there was a 15% off any Eddie Bauer one.
Avatar f tn I have a 1st safety travel system and its very light weight. The stroller isnt bulky and also goes smaller when you fold it down meaning the part you push slides down. I love it.
Avatar m tn Today I got a my hair cut, I see a barber change a razor blade when shaving me. He shave on my right side of face, anyways before shaving on the left; I see the barber uses his bare finger, cleaning rubbing the leftovers of my hair on the blade. This is the point I fear, when he finished rubbing, he then uses it to shave on my left side "IMMEDIATELY"!

Avatar f tn I'm 32 weeks and I can't decide what kind of travel system I want for my baby boy. What's a good brand?
Avatar m tn I will be doing a ton of flying over the next month (about 50,000 miles) and I want to be sure that, that much air travel will not impact condom safety due to air pressure, etc. If I do have sex I always use protection and want to make sure that significant air travel does not affect condom safety, but didn't know where to ask. There is little information online and I was hoping someone here might know. Anyone have an idea?
Avatar f tn Got a call from back home, my grandmother who raised me is in the hospital. I'm 36 weeks 3 days along and I'm scared to travel. Going to be a quick 8hr trip, not really feeling any signs of labor just some contractions on and off. Been going back and forth on wither it's a good idea to go, might be my last time seeing my grandmother...
