612876 tn?1355514495 All of the hospitals in my area have wheelchairs available for use as needed (some do occasionally get shortages as the supplies of wheelchairs are better at some hospitals than others), so you may want to call the "customer service" or "social work" office at the hospital and ask about whether they would have a wheel chair that you can borrow for the duration of the time you're there with your husband. Another option may be borrowing or renting a wheelchair elsewhere.
572651 tn?1530999357 If you saw my email inbox you might be surprised at some of the mail I receive. I have signed up on distribution lists for many medical sites, including Nursing Times from the UK. I received an announcement today about an upcoming convention in LONDON, that may be of interest to some of you. This convention/conference is September 29-30 and the registration is FREE. I wish I could go, but its a bit far to commute. Some of you who live in the UK may be interested, though.
Avatar f tn I am struggling to excercise from my chair. I can walk for 5 mins very slowly.
Avatar f tn m not going to count on someone at the hospital knowing what to look for. Not all nurses are trained for that, and there's not even a guarantee that a nurse will be the one to escort you to your vehicle (they're usually pretty busy). I know that at hospitals in my area new mothers and their families are often walked out by CNAs or even just "care attendants" who are barely trained to do more than push wheelchairs and smile.
Avatar f tn Hi Alex, I think it is absolutely disgusting how expensive these medications are and wheelchairs for that matter. I think these drug companies take advantage of people because people need these medications. Big business and I can't stand any of them. I don't know how you do it Alex...you must be a very strong person. I pray your cancer drugs are helping. Copaxone was one of the drugs my neurologist had on her menu of suggestions. I was considering it and then decided against it.
Avatar n tn Fewer MSers will even be in wheelchairs than there were in previous times. They have to find out what MS is to get close to the cure. I am in a study trying to come up with a blood test to find MS.
1932244 tn?1323292210 Pregnancy loss due to cervical incompetence is a risk for the next pregnancy. For this reason, you should be sure to consult with a high-risk pregnancy specialist or other experienced OB/GYN early in your next pregnancy and ideally before conception. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps.
Avatar f tn In Australia there is a site called kidsafe that rates all available car seats, prams, strollers, cots etc that are available. It rates everything from safety through to prices. Just wondering if perhaps the US has a similar site!
Avatar f tn My question is will it harm me in any way for staying on it? I dont want to cause any more problems for myself by staying on it but evidently I lack serotonin and the paxil replaces it. Any info that you might give me would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar n tn This is a legitimate question for your cardiologist, who knows about your condition and level of fitness and can weigh the risks.
Avatar f tn Doggie is always safe, I'm not sure about the jumping jack though.
Avatar f tn They say that light exercise throughout your pregnancy is good for you..just dont over do it.
Avatar n tn I had thos worry and sometimes I still wake up on my back just get used it your side sleeping now while its still comfortable for you .
Avatar f tn me and my boyfriend (long distance) have both admitted to each other we're virgins. we've also discovered i'm the one with more experience. he's never gotten a ******** or a hand job, etc. i'm going over to visit him for a while in the summer, i've arranged to get on the birth control pill, and had mutliple talks with my mother and experienced friends about it's use in preventing pregnancies.
Avatar f tn If a safety pin could prevent birth defects, doctors would be telling mothers to wear safety pins their whole pregnancy.
Avatar m tn m out in Chiang Rai over Songkran, and want to take her out and about for a few trips. Does anyone know where I may be able to hire a folding wheelchair, so that we can make a few excursions?
Avatar n tn There are yoga exercises for all abilities, even those who are in wheelchairs. Yep, I just, today, received a DVD of Yoga for Seniors, and some of them are in wheelchairs. Other than that, ChitChat is right - eat smaller portions, several times/day, limit the simple carbs/junk food and opt for high protein, high fiber and good fats, which tend to keep you feeling fuller longer....
Avatar m tn I can go back several generations before antibiotics , where members of our family ended up in wheelchairs wrongly diagnosed with MS. My first symptom was breathing problems age 2yrs, fainting with chronic hypotension age 10 yrs, I lost my balance, hearing , polyuria, secondary parathyriodism calcifying my pancreas ,and have a inflamed bowel, but my chronic problem was ear infections every couple of months , all through childhood and adulthood .
Avatar m tn Thank you for your question. Spinal Muscular atrophy occurs by the reason of degeneration of motor neurons that results into muscular weakness and atrophy. Therefore, main modality of treatment depends upon prevention and management of the effect of chronic motor unit loss. Common options could be ventilators, power wheelchairs, and modified access to computers to perform daily activities.
Avatar f tn I got a playpen with a bassinet for when shes tiny, but have a crib for when shes a few months older. I did the playpen because I can take it on trips, and she can still use it when she gets older, I can have it in the living room or anywhere. A bassinet works for newborns for a short time, so in the long run I'd do a playpen with a bassinet option, don't have to get the big ol fancy ones either. I think I spent 60 on mine. And a crib that grows with your child is good as well.
Avatar f tn I think it is your preference. I will have my daughter in a sleeper for the first month at least. I want her right next to me. The crib is safe, but I will be more comfortable with the sleeper.
