I'm already being harassed by the mil to let her watch the baby. I'm 29 weeks with my first & as I've posted before, she's not mentally stable. I just simply said I'm going to be home with baby for quite a while & since she's my first I'll be all nerves to leave her anywhere. My husband & I have already discussed this & he agrees her & her place are not an environment for a child. Just not safe.

She wants to come first week of oct but I keep getting this feeling like I dont want any long time visitors after she will be born. Plus our friend is wanting to come up for 4-5 days and shes trying to plan all this stuff to do like go to the mall of america, apple orchards, going to the lake and all sorts of stuff. I did tell her that we will have a newborn with us the entire time!!! She just says I know, im great with babies.

Anyone else wanting to ban visitors in the hospital until after their baby is born? I want to be able to focus on laboring and to have skin to skin time and breastfeeding established before I pass him around to everyone. Does anyone who's gone through this before have some advise on how to tell everyone who is wanting to be there?

Encourage him to trust YOU to be his safety, his alpha. Have the clicker and treats ready when its time to come out of his kennel. Click, then treat when he comes out to greet you. Use the click-treat with your pit in the same manner, keep it up, keeping their attention on you in every situation.

Simple fix. Tell your nurse you don't want to be bothered. If that don't work then tell them to **** off when they do get there. I'm going to do that because i don't want to be bothered by anyone.

When my husband and I had our son 2.5 years ago we liked that we had no visitors after we had him. We were stationed away from family and they all came to visit after baby was born and we were settled into parenthood. Now my husnand is out of the army, and we live near family and we like the idea of no visitors besides our son... My family won't listen to me if I was to just say no visitors and show up anyways. In Australia there is a site called kidsafe that rates all available car seats, prams, strollers, cots etc that are available. It rates everything from safety through to prices. Just wondering if perhaps the US has a similar site!

My question is will it harm me in any way for staying on it? I dont want to cause any more problems for myself by staying on it but evidently I lack serotonin and the paxil replaces it. Any info that you might give me would be greatly appreciated.

I've done the same thing. I even said that I don't want any visitors for 2weeks. A mother needs time to rest and to bond with her baby. For the FTM that's VERY important. Your life will turn for 180° and you need time to get used to it.

My hospital has closed ob for visitors. No one but mom and dad and grandparents. Since this is our 4th and we promised the kids they could be the first to meet baby we will not have any visitors or announce the babys name or gender until our older 3 have meet it. We have come up with a cute announcement p ic of mine and hubby's hands holding the babys to announce its birth to family and friends.
