Avatar f tn vigoursly (not gently) while he can ride a tricycle. I think it is not necesaary for a 2 yrs old to do such stretching and tumbles as he runs around all day and has enough exercise. I am concerned of the safety as his little neck and joints are still not as strong as big kids who can do gymnastics. Am I wrong to think it is unnecessary? Thanks!
Avatar f tn If your conditioning constantly it may be helping out, but your diet has to change if you want to loose weight, but remember, since you're a gymnast, muscle is gained so much more than fat, and muscle weighs alot more.

Her heart and spirit has all but been destroyed because 2 days ago the Dr said no more gymnastics. With a full, normal recovery what kind of activities can we expect her to be able to do? Avatar f tn How tall are you? You only weigh 98 pounds; that's not very much and if you do gymnastics for 18 hrs/week, you can't be fat. It sounds highly unlikely that you need to go on a diet. At 13, your body isn't even fully developed yet; dieting unnecessarily, at your age could cause a variety of health issues.

Avatar n tn She xray-d it and said that she either broke it through the growth plate at the base of the thumb or sprained it. So she put a thumb splint on it and said she can do anything she feels up to doing...gymnastics, soccer etc. The gymnastics concerns me the most with all of the weight bearing activities and knowing my daughter. My question is...Is this protocol for this injury and does it need to be treated differently if it is an actual growth plate fracture?

Avatar m tn 3 years is a long time for break in Gymnastics. If you can understand that with increasing age the flexibility decreases and you can regain that with much practice and concentration. You need to strengthen your feet with proper exercise and control over a period of time, we are sure you can do better than what you are doing now and under a good trainer. Take care!

Avatar f tn E at school 2 X a week they run 2 laps around the field. I exercise 5 x a week on the eleptical, so I do put an example for her. Does anyone have ideas on how I can encourage a preteen to do more physical activities without bringing up her "weight"?
