I got a playpen with a bassinet for when shes tiny, but have a crib for when shes a few months older. I did the playpen because I can take it on trips, and she can still use it when she gets older, I can have it in the living room or anywhere. A bassinet works for newborns for a short time, so in the long run I'd do a playpen with a bassinet option, don't have to get the big ol fancy ones either. I think I spent 60 on mine. And a crib that grows with your child is good as well.

i didnt think there was a chance it didnt work til sometime ago with another thread on here discussing possible infection of babies. i think it was Jim ( cajim) that had some concerns in that regards. anyway, DONT ASK ME HOW WHY WHERE WHAT- my two year old boy yesterday wanted to be like daddy. so he sneaks into the bathroom and try to shave - AGAIN its cute i thought but i also thought i wanted to #$#@$%%^^^%$#@#@#@ . i couldnt believe it when my wife told me.

remember when we were babies, our mothers had bumpers that were probably less safe than the ones that they have out now for our cribs. And sure some babies probably did get caught in them and suffacate, however, there is a good share of babies that were just fine. I also belive that if you tie the bumber down then there shouldn't be any way that the baby would get traped under them.

how common is it to have side effects bad enough for fluid to go to your lungs? Last cycle I just did femara and the Ovidrel shot. My 2 follies did not rupture, so my RE thinks we need to produce more follies and the use Novarel instead this time around......I just want to make sure I am ready for the side effects.

I had my pre-admission today for L&D. And there was one thing that I didn't know this hospital , or any other hospitals do. When my baby is born it will get a anklet braclet. This bracelet will set the alarms off, and lock all doors in hospital, if the baby/braclet goes to close to the entrance doors. This is to protect your baby from getting stolen. I love it. Never heard of this but it makes me feel so much better knowing my baby is 100% safe..

Not an essential but it has a lot of uses. Also put safety items on there. If u go to babies r us they will set u up with a checklist, packets, magazines coupons and let u walk around the store scanning everything you want!

In Australia there is a site called kidsafe that rates all available car seats, prams, strollers, cots etc that are available. It rates everything from safety through to prices. Just wondering if perhaps the US has a similar site!

I found that the graco things were priced about the same by most retailers. Since babies r us is close to me, I bought mine there, but hold out for a coupon if you can. They often have 10-20% off stroller and carseat coupons. I think they also give you a 10% discount when you buy 2 of something (not combined with another coupon though). Good luck.
