Common Questions and Answers about Safe range for blood sugar

blood-sugar

Avatar n tn In general, if your blood sugar level is below 100 mg / dL after fasting for at least 8 to 10 hours, then your blood sugar is normal. Blood sugar levels are usually lowest before each meal.
Avatar f tn Usually, fasting begins at midnight for a test the next day. Your sugar by the standards of your lab states it was high on your first test. The repeat is normal. I am not sure if that was a fluke. I'd probably get it checked in another 6 months to see where you are at. This article may help you understand how blood sugar can fluctuate and when it is normal. https://www.mayoclinic.

I notice my blood sugar at night between 2-3 am are over 120 and my fasting blood sugar in the morning is over 100. When i get the fealing of low it is around 80 and it will keep dropping. the last time it went to 67 and i had to eat some thing i couldnt wait. i had a cup of oj and checked in 15 min and it went to 137.
Avatar n tn However at this range it is also better to start with medications for diabetes to bring down the blood sugar levels. Please consult an endocrinologist for the same. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Avatar m tn Per my response, sertaline can increase blood sugar levels; high blood sugar levels lead to diabetes.
Avatar f tn But this morning I got really lightheaded and a headache all of a sudden(which I know is normal in pregnancy) but I checked my blood pressure again to see if that was it, and it was perfect. So I checked my blood sugar and it was 79, I had just had a fruit smoothie. The medical assistant at work told me it was low, and then another told me it was slightly low. My question is does anyone know what it should be? I go to the Dr tomorrow so I will ask him, but I'm just curious.

Avatar n tn My blood sugar fasting is 88 and post prandial is 107.Am I suffering from diabetes? What can I do to reduce the sugar levels further. Please advise.
Avatar f tn t aware of eating such will be not safe for me.my doctor advised me and according to it now my blood sugar is in control ..
Avatar f tn Hypoglycemia/ low blood sugar would be considered blood sugar levels less than about 70. Your result of 103 is normal, not hypoglycemia. It is likely that your symptoms may be from other causes. Sometimes headaches can be a sign of not drinking enough - so a glass of water and a few minutes to relax / be quiet - may help a lot. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn Would you say this is out of the normal range. I had blood work done about a month ago when I had my annual physical and my sugar level came back at 109. My doctor didn't seem to alarmed.
Avatar n tn I went in there and searched for blood sugar readings and it came up eventually. Sorry my link didnt work again. Can't figure that.
Avatar f tn So because I threw up during the 3hr glucose test, I have to check my blood sugar levels at home for a week. So just curious what is the normal range? I have to check it when I wake up and 1-2 hrs after every meal.
Avatar n tn During pregnancy, it is dangerous to have high blood sugar. Using insulin is safe....remember that your own pancreas produces insulin.
Avatar n tn Here is some more information on blood glucose ranges and blood sugar testing for you from MedHelp.org and the Sugar Sense app. http://www.medhelp.org/diabetes/articles/Be-Blood-Sugar-Savvy/1777 If you enter enough data over enough days, our app gives you an average A1C -- this is your 3 month average amount of glucose in your blood. It's likely a better measure than the daily averages from your meter, as Mindmaster points out. Here's a little more about the A1C: http://www.medhelp.
Avatar m tn org/cut-risk-high-blood-sugar-youre-pregnant/ They will likely ask you to make these lifestyle changes (even giving you specific food guidelines) and they may ask you to monitor your blood sugar. If things get worse, they may give you safe medication to counteract it and they will, of course, monitor your baby more closely. https://www.mayoclinic.
